Psalms 124

1 A Song of Degrees. If it had not been that the Lord was among us, let Israel now say;

ദാവീദിന്റെ ആരോഹണഗീതം. യഹോവ നമ്മുടെ പക്ഷത്ത് ഇല്ലായിരുന്നെങ്കിൽ— ഇസ്രായേല്യർ പറയട്ടെ—

2 if it had not been that the Lord was among us, when men rose up against us;

മനുഷ്യർ നമ്മെ ആക്രമിച്ചപ്പോൾ, യഹോവ നമ്മുടെ പക്ഷത്ത് ഇല്ലായിരുന്നെങ്കിൽ,

3 verily they would have swallowed us up alive, when their wrath was kindled against us:

അവരുടെ ക്രോധം നമുക്കെതിരേ കത്തിജ്വലിച്ചപ്പോൾ അവർ നമ്മെ ജീവനോടെ വിഴുങ്ങിക്കളയുമായിരുന്നു;

4 verily the water would have drowned us, our soul would have gone under the torrent.

പ്രളയം നമ്മെ ഒഴുക്കിക്കളയുമായിരുന്നു, വെള്ളപ്പാച്ചിൽ നമ്മെ തൂത്തെറിയുമായിരുന്നു,

5 Yea, our soul would have gone under the overwhelming water.

ആർത്തിരമ്പുന്ന ജലപ്രവാഹം നമ്മെ തുടച്ചുനീക്കുമായിരുന്നു.

6 Blessed be the Lord, who has not given us for a prey to their teeth.

അവരുടെ പല്ലിനിരയായി പറിച്ചുകീറപ്പെടാൻ നമ്മെ അനുവദിക്കാതിരുന്ന, യഹോവ വാഴ്ത്തപ്പെട്ടവൻ.

7 Our soul has been delivered as a sparrow from the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are delivered.

വേട്ടക്കാരന്റെ കെണിയിൽനിന്ന് ഒരു പക്ഷിപോലെ നാം വഴുതിപ്പോന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; ആ കെണി പൊട്ടിപ്പോയി, നാം രക്ഷപ്പെടുകയും ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

8 Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth.

ആകാശവും ഭൂമിയും സൃഷ്ടിച്ച യഹോവയുടെ നാമത്തിലാണ് നമ്മുടെ സഹായം.
