1 Rieko osegero ode, osechungo sirnige abiriyo.
Wisdom has built her own house; she has carved seven pillars out of rocks.
2 Oseiko ringe kendo oloso divai mare moru mamit, bende osepedho mesa mare.
She has slaughtered her animals; she has mixed her wine; and she has set her table.
3 Oseoro jotichne ma nyiri, kendo oluongo ji ka en kuonde motingʼore e dala maduongʼ.
She has sent out her maids; she calls out from the highest points of the city,
4 “Weuru ji duto mangʼeyogi tin obi kae!” Owacho ni jogo maonge gi rieko mar ngʼado bura.
“Who is naive? Let him turn aside here!” To the one lacking good sense she speaks.
5 Biuru, chamuru chiemba kendo madhuru divai ma aseruwo.
“Come, eat my food, and drink the wine I have mixed.
6 Weuru yoreu maonge rieko, eka unubed mangima, wuothuru e yor winjo kod ngʼeyo.
Leave your naive actions and live; walk in the path of understanding.
7 Ngʼat marieyo ja-ajara luongo mana wichkuot, ngʼat makwero ngʼat marach yudo mana ayany.
Whoever disciplines a mocker receives abuse, and whoever rebukes a wicked person receives insults.
8 Kik ikwer ngʼat ma jaro ji, nikech mano biro miyo obedo mamon kodi, kirieyo ngʼat mariek, to obiro heri.
Do not reprove a mocker, or he will hate you; reprove a wise man, and he will love you.
9 Puonj ngʼat mariek, to obiro bedo mariek moloyo, puonj ngʼat makare gimoro, to obiro medo puonjore.
Give to a wise person, and he will become even wiser; teach a righteous person, and he will add to his learning.
10 Luoro Jehova Nyasaye e chakruok mar rieko, to ngʼeyo Jal Maler miyo ngʼato ngʼeyo tiend wach.
The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.
11 Nimar kuoma ndalogi biro bedo mangʼeny, kendo rieko biro medo hiki.
For through me your days will be multiplied, and years of life will be added to you.
12 Ka iriek, riekoni nomiyi ohala, ka ijajaro, to in iwuon ema ibiro hinyori.
If you are wise, you are wise for yourself, and if you mock, you will carry it by yourself.”
13 Dhako mofuwo en jakoko, ok oritore kendo ngʼeyone tin.
The woman of foolishness is ignorant; she is untaught and knows nothing.
14 Obedo e dhoode, e kom kama otingʼore mar dala maduongʼ,
She sits at the door of her house, on a seat in the highest places of the town.
15 koluongo jogo makadho, madhi e yoregi.
She is calling out to those who pass by in the streets, to people walking straight on their way.
16 Owacho ni jogo maonge gi rieko mar ngʼado bura niya, “Weuru ji duto mangʼeyogi tin obi kae!”
“Let anyone who is naive turn aside here,” she says to those who have no sense.
17 Nomedo wachonegi niya, “Pi mokwal mit, chiemo michamo apanda ema nigi ndhandhu moloyo!”
“Stolen waters are sweet, and bread of secrecy is delicious.”
18 To ok gingʼeyo kata matin ni joma otho ni kuno; bende ni joma lime ni e liel matut. (Sheol h7585)
But he does not know that the dead are there, that her invited guests are in the depths of Sheol. (Sheol h7585)
