Nehemia 12

Now, these, are the priests and the Levites, who came up with Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, and Jeshua, —Seraiah, Jeremiah, Ezra;

2 Amaria, Maluk, Hatush,

Amariah, Malluch, Hattush;

3 Shekania, Rehum, Meremoth,

Shecaniah, Rehum, Meremoth;

4 Ido, Ginethon, Abija,

Iddo, Ginnethoi, Abijah;

5 Mijamin, Moadia, Bilga,

Mijamin, Maadiah, Bilgah;

6 Shemaya, Joyarib, Jedaya,

Shemaiah, and Joiarib, Jedaiah;

7 Salu, Amok, Hilkia kod Jedaya. Magi ema ne jotend jodolo kod jotich kaachiel kodgi e ndalo Jeshua.

Sallu, Amok, Hilkiah, Jedaiah, —these, were the chiefs of the priests and their brethren, in the days of Jeshua.

And, the Levites, Jeshua, Binnui, Kadmiel, Sherebiah, Judah, Mattaniah, —over the choirs, he and his brethren;

and Bakbukiah and Unno their brethren, were over against them, in wards.

10 Jeshua ne en wuon Joyakim, Joyakim ne en wuon Eliashib, Eliashib wuon Joyada,

And Jeshua, begat Joiakim, —and Joiakim, begat Eliashib, and, Eliashib, [begat] Joiada;

11 Joyada ne wuon Jonathan, to Jonathan ne wuon Jadua.

and, Joiada, begat Jonathan, —and, Jonathan, begat Jaddua.

12 E ndalo Joyakim, jodolo mane jotend dhoudi ne gin: koa e anywola Seraya ne en Meraya; koa e anywola Jeremia ne en Hanania;

And, in the days of Joiakim, were priests, ancestral chiefs, —of Seraiah, Meraiah, of Jeremiah, Hananiah;

13 koa e anywola Ezra ne en Meshulam; koa e anywola Amaria ne en Jehohanan;

of Ezra, Meshullam, —of Amariah, Jehohanan;

14 koa e anywola Maluk ne en Jonathan; koa e anywola Shekania ne en Josef;

of Malluchi, Jonathan, —of Shebaniah, Joseph;

15 koa e anywola Harim ne en Adna; koa e anywola Meremoth ne en Helkai;

of Harim, Adna, —of Meraioth, Helkai;

16 koa e anywola Ido ne en Zekaria; koa e anywola Ginethon ne en Meshulam;

of Iddo, Zechariah, —of Ginnethon, Meshullam;

17 koa e anywola Abija ne en Zikri; koa e anywola Miniamin kod Moadia ne en Piltai;

of Abijah, Zichri, —of Miniamin, of Moadiah, Piltai;

18 koa e anywola Bilga ne en Shamua; koa e anywola Shemaya ne en Jehonathan;

of Bilgah, Shammua, —of Shemaiah, Jehonathan;

19 koa e anywola Joyarib ne en Matenai; koa e anywola Jedaya ne en Uzi;

and, of Joiarib, Mattenai, —of Jedaiah, Uzzi;

20 koa e anywola Salu ne en Kalai; koa e anywola Amok ne en Eber;

of Sallai, Kallai, —of Amok, Eber;

21 koa e anywola Hilkia ne en Hashabia; koa e anywola Jedaya ne en Nethanel.

of Hilkiah, Hashabiah, —of Jedaiah, Nethanel.

22 Jotend miech jo-Lawi e ndalo mar Eliashib; Joyada, Johanan kod Jadua, kaachiel gi joma ne jodolo, nondik nying-gi e kinde loch mar Darius ruodh Pasia.

The Levites—in the days of Eliashib, Joiada, and Johanan, and Jaddua, were recorded as ancestral chiefs, —also the priests, unto the reign of Darius the Persian.

23 Jotend mier mane ni e dier nyikwa Lawi nyaka e ndalo mar Johanan wuod Eliashib nondik nying-gi e kitap weche mag ndalo.

the sons of Levi, ancestral heads, were written in the book of Chronicles, —even until the days of Johanan, son of Eliashib.

24 To jotend jo-Lawi ne gin: Hashabia, Sherebia, Jeshua wuod Kadmiel, kod jotich kaachiel kodgi, mane ochungʼ ka ngʼiyore ka gipako Nyasaye kendo gidwokone erokamano ka jomoko omo wer to jomoko olo mana kaka Daudi ngʼat Nyasaye nondiko.

And, the chiefs of the Levites, Hashabiah, Sherebiah, and Jeshua son of Kadmiel, with their brethren over against them, to praise—to give thanks, by the commandment of David the man of God, —ward joined to ward.

25 Matania, Bakbukia, Obadia, Meshulam, Talmon kod Akub ne gin jorit dhorangeye ma bende ne ngʼiyo kuonde keno man yo rangach.

Mattaniah and Bakbukiah, Obadiah, Meshullam, Talmon, Akkub, were watchers, doorkeepers of the ward, in the storehouses of the gates.

26 Negitiyo e ndalo Joyakim wuod Jeshua, wuod Jozadak, to kendo e ndalo jatelo Nehemia kod Ezra ma jadolo kendo jandiko.

These, were in the days of Joiakim, son of Jeshua, son of Jozadak, —and in the days of Nehemiah the pasha, and Ezra the priest the scribe.

27 E sa mane igwedho ohinga mar Jerusalem, jo-Lawi nowal oa kama negidakie mine okelgi Jerusalem mondo gitim nyasi gi mor mogundho gi wende mag erokamano kendo ka gigoyo ongengʼo, nyatiti kod orutu.

And, at the dedication of the wall of Jerusalem, they sought the Levites, out of all their places, to bring them to Jerusalem, —to keep the dedication and the rejoicing, both with thanksgiving and with music, cymbals, harps, and with lyres.

28 Jower bende nokel kanyakla koa e gwenge machiegni gi Jerusalem kaka miech jo-Netofath,

So the sons of the singers gathered themselves together, —both out of the circuit round about Jerusalem, and out of the villages of the Netophathites;

29 Beth Gilgal, kod e gwengʼ Geba gi Azmaveth, nimar jower nosegero miechgi giwegi machiegni gi Jerusalem.

also out of Beth-gilgal, and out of the fields of Geba, and Azmaveth, —for, villages, had the singers builded for themselves, round about Jerusalem.

30 Ka jodolo gi jo-Lawi nosepwodhore maler kaka chik dwaro, ne gipwodho ji, dhorangeye, to gi ohinga.

And the priests and the Levites purified themselves, —and purified the people, and the gates, and the wall.

31 Ne akelo jotend Juda nyaka ewi ohinga. Bende ne ayiero migepe ariyo madongo mag jower mondo odwok erokamano ni Nyasaye. Achiel kuomgi ne ochungʼ ewi ohinga korachwich, kochiko kama iluongo ni Dhoranga Owuoyo.

Then brought I up the rulers of Judah upon the wall, —and I appointed two large choirs, even to go in procession to the right, upon the wall, towards the dung-gate;

and after them went Hoshaiah, and half the rulers of Judah;

then Azariah, Ezra, and Meshullam;

34 Juda, Benjamin, Shemaya, Jeremia,

Judah, and Benjamin, and Shemaiah, and Jeremiah;

and, of the sons of the priests, with trumpets, Zechariah—son of Jonathan—son of Shemaiah—son of Mattaniah, son of Micaiah, son of Zaccur, son of Asaph;

and his brethren—Shemaiah and Azarel, Milalai, Gilalai, Maai, Nethanel, and Judah, Hanani, with the instruments of music of David, the man of God, —with Ezra the scribe before them;

and, over they fountain gate and straight before them, they went up by the stairs of the city of David, at the going up of the wall, —above the house of David, even as far as the water-gate, eastward.

38 Migawo mar jower mar ariyo nowuotho kochiko komachielo. Ne aluwogi nyaka ewi ohinga malo, kaachiel gi nus mar ji ka gikalo kama Oger Motingʼore gi Malo mar Kendo mag Mach nyaka e Ohinga Malach,

And, the second choir, was going over against them, I, following it, —with the half of the people upon the wall, above the tower of the ovens, even as far as the broad wall;

39 negikadho Ranga Efraim, Ranga Jeshana, Ranga Rech, Kama Otingʼore gi Malo mar Hananel kod Kama Otingʼore gi Malo ma Mia Achiel nyaka ochopo Ranga Rombe. Negichungo e Ranga Od jarito.

and above the gate of Ephraim, and upon the old gate, and upon the fish-gate, and the tower of Hananel, and the tower of Hammeah, even as far as the sheep-gate, —and they came to a stand, at the gate of the guard.

40 Bangʼ ka migepe ariyo mar jowergo nosedwoko erokamano ni Nyasaye; negikawo keregi e od Nyasaye, eka an bende kamano kaachiel gi nus mar jotelo,

So the two choirs, came to a stand, at the house of God, —and I, and half the deputies with me;

41 gi jodolo kaka, Eliakim, Maseya, Miniamin, Mikaya, Elioenai, Zekaria gi Hanania ka gin kod turumbete mag-gi.

and, the priests—Eliakim, Maaseiah, Miniamin, Micaiah, Elioenai, Zechariah, and Hananiah, with trumpets;

42 Bende ne nitiere Maseya, Shemaya, Eliazar, Uzi, Jehohanan, Malkija, Elam kod Ezer. Jower nower kotelnegi gi Jezrahia.

and Maaseiah and Shemaiah and Eleazar and Uzzi and Jehohanan and Malchijah and Elam and Ezer, —and the musicians sounded, aloud with Jezrahiah who was over them.

43 To e odiechiengno negichiwo misango maduongʼ ka gimor nikech Nyasaye ne osemiyogi mor maduongʼ. Mon kod nyithindo bende ne mor. Koko mar mor mane ni e Jerusalem ne inyalo winjo gi kuma bor.

And they sacrificed, on that day, great sacrifices, and rejoiced, for, God, had caused them to rejoice with great joy, moreover also, the women and children, rejoiced, —so that the rejoicing of Jerusalem was heard afar off.

And there were set in charge, on that day, certain men, over the chambers for the treasures, for the heave-offerings, for the firstfruits, and for the tithes, to gather into them, out of the fields of the cities, the portions appointed by the law, for the priests, and for the Levites, —for, the joy of Judah, was over the priests and over the Levites, who were remaining.

So they kept the charge of their God, and the charge of the purification, and [so did] the singers and the doorkeepers, —according to the commandment of David and of Solomon his son.

46 E ndalo mar Daudi kod Asaf ema ne telone wende mag pak kod mag goyo erokamano ni Nyasaye nochakore.

For, in the days of David and Asaph, of old, there were chiefs of the singers, and songs of praise and thanksgiving, unto God.

47 Kendo e ndalo Zerubabel gi Nehemia, jo-Israel duto nochako kelo pok mapile pile ni jower kod jorit dhorangeye. Bende negiketo tenge pok ni jo-Lawi mamoko, to jo-Lawi bende nomiyo nyikwa Harun pokgi.

Now, all Israel—in the days of Zerubbabel, and in the days of Nehemiah, used to give the portions of the singers and the doorkeepers, the need of a day upon its day, —and they hallowed them unto the Levites, and, the Levites, hallowed them unto the sons of Aaron.
