< Joshua 11 >

1 Kane Jabin ruodh Hazor owinjo ma, nooro wach ne Jobab ma ruodh Madon, kod ruodhi mag Shimron gi Akshaf,
And it came to pass, when Jabin king of Hazor heard, that he sent unto Jobab king of Madon, and unto the king of Shimron, and unto the king of Achshaph;
2 kod ruodhi mae piny gode ma yo nyandwat e Araba ma milambo mar Kinereth, e tiend gode ma yo podho chiengʼ kod e Nafoth Dor mantiere yo podho chiengʼ.
and unto the kings who were on the north in the hill country and in the waste plain south of Chinneroth, and in the lowland, —and in the heights of Dor, on the west:
3 Nooro wach bende ni jo-Kanaan man yo wuok chiengʼ kod podho chiengʼ, kaachiel gi jo-Amor, jo-Hiti, jo-Perizi, kod jo-Jebus mantiere e piny gode; kendo ni jo-Hivi modak e tiend got Hermon e gwenge mag Mizpa.
the Canaanite on the east and on the west, and the Amorite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite and the Jebusite, in the hill country, —and the Hivite, under Hermon, in the land of Mizpah;
4 Ne giwuok gi jolweny mangʼeny ka kuoyo manie dho nam ka gin-gi farese kod geche lweny mangʼeny.
and they came out—they, and all their hosts with them, much people, like the sand that is upon the seashore for multitude, —with horses and chariots very many.
5 Ruodhigi duto noriwo tekogi mi gichokore kanyakla e Sokni mag Merom, mondo giked gi jo-Israel.
And, when all these kings were gathered together, they came in, and encamped as one man, at the waters of Merom, to fight with Israel.
6 Jehova Nyasaye nowachone Joshua niya, “Kik uluorgi, nikech kiny sa machalo kama abiro chiwogi duto ne jo-Israel mi gineg-gi. Nyaka ungʼad odond tiend faresegi kendo uwangʼ gechegi.”
Then said Yahweh unto Joshua—Do not fear because of them, for, to-morrow, about this time, am I going to deliver up all of them, slain, before Israel, —their horses, shalt thou ham-string, and, their chariots, shalt thou burn up with fire.
7 Omiyo Joshua gi jolwenje duto nobiro momonjogi apoya e Sokni mag Merom mi gikedo kodgi,
So Joshua, and all the army with him, came in upon them, by the waters of Merom, suddenly, and fell upon them.
8 kendo Jehova Nyasaye nochiwogi e lwet jo-Israel. Negiloyogi mi gilawogi nyaka dala maduongʼ mar Sidon, nyaka Misrefoth Maim kendo nyaka Holo mar Mizpa ma yo wuok chiengʼ, maonge joma notony.
And Yahweh delivered them up into the hand of Israel, and they smote them, and chased them as far as great Zidon, and as far as Misrephoth-maim, and as far as the valley of Mizpeh, eastward, —yea they smote them until they left them not a survivor.
9 Joshua notimonigi kaka Jehova Nyasaye nosechiko. Nongʼado odond tiend farese kendo nowangʼo gechegi.
And Joshua did unto them, as Yahweh had said unto him, —their horses, he ham-strung, and, their chariots, burned he up with fire.
10 E sechego Joshua noduogo mi okawo Hazor kendo onego ruodhe kod ligangla. Hazor ema ne jatend pinjegi duto.
Then Joshua turned back, at that time, and captured Hazor, and, the king thereof, smote he with the sword, —for, Hazor, aforetime, was the head of all these kingdoms.
11 Ji duto mane ni e dala maduongʼno noneg gi ligangla. Negitiekogi pep maonge gima yweyo mane odongʼ, Hazor bende ne giwangʼo.
And they smote all the souls that were therein, with the edge of the sword, devoting them to destruction, there was left no breathing thing, —and, Hazor, burned he up with fire.
12 Joshua nokawo mier madongo gi ruodhigi mi ginegogi gi ligangla. Notiekogi pep, mana kaka Musa jatich Jehova Nyasaye nosechiko.
And, all the cities of these kings, and all the kings thereof, did Joshua capture, and he smote them with the edge of the sword, devoting them to destruction, —as Moses, the servant of Yahweh, commanded.
13 Kata kamano, jo-Israel ne ok owangʼo dala maduongʼ moro amora moger e gode mag-gi matindo makmana Hazor ma Joshua nowangʼo.
Yet, none of the cities that were still standing upon their mound, did Israel burn, none but Hazor alone, did Joshua burn.
14 Jo-Israel noyako gik moko duto kod kweth jamni mag mier madongogi, kendo neginego ji duto maonge ngʼama notony kata achiel.
But, all the spoil of these cities, and the cattle, did the sons of Israel take as their prey, —nevertheless, all the human beings, smote they with the edge of the sword, until they had destroyed them, they left remaining no breathing thing.
15 Kaka Jehova Nyasaye nochiwo chik ni jatichne Musa, omiyo Musa bende nochiwo chik ne Joshua, mi Joshua notimo mano. Onge gima noweyo ma ok otimo kuom gigo duto mane Jehova Nyasaye ochiko Musa.
As Yahweh commanded Moses his servant, so, Moses commanded Joshua, and, so, Joshua, did, he set aside nothing of all that Yahweh commanded Moses.
16 Omiyo Joshua nokawo pinyni duto; kaka, piny manie got, piny Negev duto, gwenge duto mag Goshen, tiend gode ma yo podho chiengʼ, Araba kod gode duto mag Israel kaachiel gi pewe mag
So Joshua took all this land—the hill country, and all the south, and all the land of Goshen, and the lowland, and the waste plain, —and the hill country of Israel, and the lowland thereof:
17 Got Halak, machakore yo Seir, nyaka Baal Gad manie Holo mar Lebanon manie Got Hermon. Nomako ruodhigi duto mi onegogi.
from Mount Halak, that goeth up to Seir, even as far as Baal-gad, in the valley of the Lebanon, under Mount Hermon, —and, all their kings, he captured, and smote them, and put them to death.
18 Joshua nokedo gi ruodhigi duto kuom ndalo mangʼeny.
Many days, did Joshua, with all these kings, make war.
19 Onge dala maduongʼ moro amora mane otimo winjruok gi jo-Israel makmana jo-Hivi modak Gibeon. Joma odongʼ duto negikedogo.
There was not a city that made peace with the sons of Israel, save the Hivites dwelling in Gibeon, —the whole, took they in battle.
20 Jehova Nyasaye owuon ema ne omiyo chunygi obedo matek mondo gitug lweny gi jo-Israel kendo mondo jo-Israel otiekgi chuth maonge ngʼwono mana kaka Jehova Nyasaye nosechiko Musa.
For, from Yahweh, came it to pass, that their heart was emboldened to come out to war with Israel, that he might devote them to destruction, that they might find no favour, —but that he might destroy them, —as Yahweh commanded Moses.
21 E ndalono mane Joshua odhi kendo otieko jo-Anak moa e piny gode, ema bende notieke joma odak, Hebron, Debir kod Anab, mago moa e pinje gode mag Juda, to gi moa e pinje gode mag Israel. Joshua notiekogi duto kod miechgi.
And Joshua came in, at that time, and cut off the Anakim from the hill country—from Hebron, from Debir, from Anab, and from all the hill country of Judah, and from all the hill country of Israel, —with their cities, did Joshua devote them to destruction.
22 Onge jo-Anak mane odongʼ e piny jo-Israel; makmana joma nodongʼ Gaza, Gath kod Ashdod.
There was left remaining none of the Anakim, in the land of the sons of Israel, —save only, in Gaza, in Gath, and in Ashdod, did some remain.
23 Omiyo Joshua nokawo pinyno duto mana kaka Jehova Nyasaye nosechiko Musa, mi nochiwe kaka girkeni ni jo-Israel kaluwore gi migepe mag dhoutegi. Bangʼe pinyni nobedo gi kwe.
So Joshua took the whole land, according to all that Yahweh had spoken unto Moses, and Joshua gave it for an inheritance unto Israel, according to their portions by their tribes, —and, the land, had rest from war.
