< Ayub 22 >

1 Eka Elifaz ja-Teman nodwoko niya,
Then answered Eliphaz the Themanite, and said,
2 “Dhano adhana to konyo Nyasaye gangʼo? Kata bed ni ngʼato riek mogik, angʼo ma dokonygo Nyasaye?
Can a man be serviceable unto God? Truly the intelligent is serviceable unto himself.
3 Ere ohala ma Jehova Nyasaye Maratego yudo kibedo ngʼat makare? Koso iparo ni ka yoregi oriere, to mano konye gangʼo?
Is it any pleasure to the Almighty that thou art righteous? or is it any gain to him, that thou makest thy ways perfect?
4 “Iparo ni Nyasaye kwedi kendo kumi nikech in ngʼama kare?
Is it out of fear of thee that he will reproach thee? or go with thee into judgment?
5 Donge otimoni kamano nikech timbegi kod richo misetimo ngʼeny?
Is not thy evil great? and no end to thy iniquities?
6 Ne ikawo lep oweteni kaka gir singo miweyogi duk; eka mondo gichuli mwandu mane gikawo kuomi.
For thou hast taken a pledge from thy brothers for nought, and stripped the naked of their clothing.
7 Ne ituono joma ool pi modho kendo ne ipando chiemo ne joma odenyo,
Thou hast not given water to the weary to drink, and from the hungry thou hast withholden bread.
8 ne itimo kamano kata obedo nine in ngʼama duongʼ, ne in gi lopi iwuon midakie, kendo ji noluori.
But as for the man of a strong arm, he obtained the land, and the highly honored could dwell therein.
9 Ne ok ikonyo mon ma chwogi otho kendo nyithind kiye bende ne ithago.
Widows hast thou sent away empty, and the arms of the fatherless have been broken.
10 Mano emomiyo obadho oluori moketi diere kendo masira mabiro apoya ochomi.
Therefore are snares round about thee, and sudden dread terrifieth thee.
11 Mano emomiyo mudho olwori ma ok inyal neno kendo chandruok malich olwori.
Or seest thou not the darkness? and the abundance of water which covereth thee?
12 “Donge Nyasaye odak e polo malo? Donge en malo moyombo nyaka sulwe man malo mogik?
Is not God in the height of heaven? and beholding the highest elevation of the stars, however high they are?
13 To eka in iwacho ni, ‘Nyasaye to ongʼeyo angʼo? Ere kaka onyalo ngʼadonwa bura to boche polo oime?
But thou sayest, “What doth God know? can he judge behind the darkness?
14 Boche mogingore oime, omiyo ok onyal nenowa seche mowuotho koni gi koni e kor polo.’
Thick clouds are a covering for him, so that he will not see; and he walketh along on the circle of heaven.”
15 Idwaro siko e yore machon kuonde ma joma richo osewuothe,
Wilt thou [thus] observe the path of ancient times which the men of injustice have trodden?
16 ma gin joma ne kargi olal nono kapok ndalogi ochopo kendo ma mise margi ne ohula oywero modhigo?
Who were shrivelled up before their time, whose foundation was flooded away like a river;
17 Negiwachone Nyasaye ni, ‘Wewa mos!’ En angʼo ma Jehova Nyasaye Maratego nyalo timonwa?
Who said unto God, “'Depart from us:” and what wrought the Almighty for them?
18 To eka Nyasaye ema ne opongʼo utegi gi gik mabeyo, omiyo an apogora gi rieko ma joma timbegi richo ngʼado.
And yet it was he that filled their houses with good things; but the counsel of the wicked be [still] far from me.
19 Joma kare neno masira to pod gimor amora, to joma pok otimo gimoro amora marach jarogi, kagiwacho niya,
The righteous will see it, and be glad; and the innocent will laugh them to scorn.
20 ‘Adier, wasikwa osetieki, kendo mach osewangʼo mwandugi motieko pep!’
“Is not he destroyed that rose up against us, and hath not the fire consumed what they had left?”
21 “Chiwri ni Nyasaye mondo ibed kode gi kwe, ma biro miyo idhi nyime maber.
Do but become acquainted with him, and be at peace: thereby will happiness come unto thee.
22 Rwak puonj mowuok e dhoge kendo kan wechene e chunyi.
Do but accept instruction from his mouth, and lay up his saying in thy heart.
23 Ka idok ir Jehova Nyasaye Maratego, to ibiro geri kendo. Ka igolo timbe maricho mabor gi dalani,
If thou return to the Almighty, thou shalt be built up, so thou wilt but remove wrong-doing far away from thy tents.
24 kendo ka ikawo kitegi ma nengogi tek ka gima nono kendo ok ikwano dhahabu magi mabeyo mokuny Ofir ka gima gin lwendni manie rogo,
And throw down in the dust precious metals, and [the gold of] Ophir to the stones of the brooks:
25 eka Jehova Nyasaye Maratego nobed dhahabu mari, kendo nobedni fedha maberie mogik.
Then will the Almighty be thy precious metal, and brightly-shining silver unto thee.
26 Adier, iniyud mor kuom Jehova Nyasaye Maratego kendo inichom wangʼi kuom Nyasaye.
For then wilt thou have in the Almighty thy delight, and thou canst lift up unto God thy face.
27 Inilame kendo enowinji, kendo inichop singruok duto mane itimo.
Thou wilt make entreaty unto him, and he will hear thee, and thy vows wilt thou pay.
28 Gimoro amora michano timo biro dhi maber, kendo yoreni miluwo nobed maber.
And if thou decree a thing, it will be fulfilled unto thee; and upon thy ways the light will shine.
29 Ka ji jaro jowetegi kendo ikwayo Jehova Nyasaye ni, ‘Resgi!’ to Jehova biro reso joma ijarogo.
For when men are brought low, thou wilt say, Pride [hath done it]; but those of lowly eyes [God] will help.
30 Obiro resi kata ngʼama onge ketho; ngʼat ma kamano ibiro reso nikech in ngʼama kare.”
He will even deliver him who is not guiltless: and thou wilt be delivered by the purity of thy hands.
