< Ayub 17 >
1 Chunya onyosore, ndalona ongʼad machiek, kendo thona ema chiegni koda.
I perish, carried away by the wind, and I seek for burial, and obtain [it] not.
2 Jogo ma nyiera olwora koni gi koni; kendo asiko mana kaneno gero ma gin-go koda.
Weary I entreat; and what have I done? and strangers have stolen my goods.
3 “Yaye Nyasaye, nyisa gima idwaro. En ngʼa machielo mabiro rita?
Who is this? let him join hands with me.
4 Isedino pachgi mondo kik gifweny adiera; omiyo ok ibi yie mondo gibed joloch.
For you have hid their heart from wisdom; therefore you shall not exalt them.
5 Ka ngʼato ondhogo osiepne mondo oyud mwandu to gima otimono nyaka dongʼ ewi nyithinde.
He shall promise mischief to [his] companions: but [their] eyes have failed for [their] children.
6 “Nyasaye osemiyo abedo ngʼama ji duto goyo ngero kendo ma ka ji oneno to ngʼudho kuome olawo.
But you has made me a byword amount the nations, and I am become a scorn to them.
7 Wengena koro ok nen maber nikech kuyo ma an-go; denda duto olokore choke lilo.
For my eyes are dimmed through pain; I have been grievously beset by all.
8 Joma paro ni gin joma kare kibaji omako; kendo joma paro ni ler wacho ni ok angʼeyo Nyasaye.
Wonder has seized true men upon this; and let the just rise up against the transgressor.
9 Kata kamano, joma kare nosik koluwo yoregi makare, kendo joma yoregi oriere nomed bedo motegno.
But let the faithful hold on his own way, and let him that is pure of hands take courage.
10 “Un duto weyauru kendo dhiuru mabor nikech ok aneno ngʼama riek kuomu-ka.
Howbeit, do you all strengthen [yourselves] and come now, for I do not find truth in you.
11 Ndalona osekadho, chenrona duto osekethore, kaachiel gi gik moko duto ma chunya gombo.
My days have passed in groaning, and my heart-strings are broken.
12 Jogi loko otieno mi bed odiechiengʼ; ka piny otimo mudho to giwacho ni, ‘Ler ni machiegni.’
I have turned the night into day: the light is short because of darkness.
13 Ka dipo ni dala ma ageno dhiye en mana liel kende, kata kapo ni apedho kitandana e mudho, (Sheol )
For if I remain, Hades is my habitation: and my bed has been made in darkness. (Sheol )
14 ka dipo ni awacho ne kethruok ni, ‘In e wuonwa,’ kendo aluongo kudni ni, ‘minwa,’ kata ni, ‘nyamera,’
I have called upon death to be my father, and corruption [to be] my mother and sister.
15 to koro geno mara ni kune? En ngʼa manyalo neno geno moro amora ma an-go?
Where then is yet my hope? or [where] shall I see my good?
16 Bende dodhi piny nyaka e dhorangeye mag tho? Koso bende dwalor kode nyaka ei lowo?” (Sheol )
Will they go down with me to Hades, or shall we go down together to the tomb? (Sheol )
