< Isaya 40 >

1 Houru chuny joga, hogiuru, Nyasachu wacho kamano.
Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God.
2 Wuouru gi muolo ne Jerusalem, kendo uwachne, ni ndalone mag chandruok oserumo, bende ni richone osewene, kendo oseyudo kum nyadiriyo koa e lwet Jehova Nyasaye nikech richone duto.
Speak ye comfortably to Jerusalem, and cry unto her, that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned: for she hath received of the LORD’s hand double for all her sins.
3 Ngʼat moro kok niya: “Losuru yo ne Jehova Nyasaye, losneuru Nyasachwa yo moriere tir, e piny motimo ongoro e thim.
The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God.
4 Holo ka holo nobugi mapongʼ, gode madongo gi matindo duto nopie; yore motimo gogni nobed maler, kendo kuonde motimo gode nobed pewe.
Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain:
5 Eka duongʼ mar Jehova Nyasaye nofwenyre kendo ji duto biro nene. Nimar Jehova Nyasaye owuon ema osewacho kamano.”
And the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see [it] together: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken [it].
6 Dwol moro wacho niya, “Tingʼ dwondi iywagi.” To ne apenjo niya, “Ere gima aywago?” “Dhano duto chalo gi lum, kendo bergi duto chalo mana gi maua manie pap.
The voice said, Cry. And he said, What shall I cry? All flesh [is] grass, and all the goodliness thereof [is] as the flower of the field:
7 Lum ner kendo maua tuo mi lwar piny ka much Jehova Nyasaye okudhogi. Chutho dhano chalo mana gi lum.
The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: because the spirit of the LORD bloweth upon it: surely the people [is] grass.
8 Lum ner kendo maua tuo mi lwar piny, to wach Nyasachwa osiko manyaka chiengʼ.”
The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.
9 In mikelo wach maber ne Sayun, dhi ewi got malo. In mikelo wach maber ne Jerusalem, tingʼ dwondi malo ka ikok matek, tingʼ dwondi malo, kik ibed maluor; wach ne mier mag Juda niya, “Eri Nyasachu nika!”
O Zion, that bringest good tidings, get thee up into the high mountain; O Jerusalem, that bringest good tidings, lift up thy voice with strength; lift [it] up, be not afraid; say unto the cities of Judah, Behold your God!
10 Neuru, Jehova Nyasaye Manyalo Gik Moko Duto biro gi teko, kendo loch ni e lwete. Neuru, obiro gi pok mare, kendo pokne luwo bangʼe.
Behold, the Lord GOD will come with strong [hand], and his arm shall rule for him: behold, his reward [is] with him, and his work before him.
11 Orito rombene mana kaka jakwath: Ochoko nyirombene e bade, kendo oriwogi e kore kotelo maber ni rombe man-gi nyithindo.
He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry [them] in his bosom, [and] shall gently lead those that are with young.
12 En ngʼa mosepimo pi e chuny lwete kata mana pimo lach mar polo gi lwete? En ngʼa ma osechoko buru manie piny e atonga, kata pimo gode madongo gi matindo e rapim?
Who hath measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, and meted out heaven with the span, and comprehended the dust of the earth in a measure, and weighed the mountains in scales, and the hills in a balance?
13 En ngʼa mosefwenyo pach Jehova Nyasaye, koso en ngʼa mosebedo kaka jangʼadne rieko?
Who hath directed the Spirit of the LORD, or [being] his counsellor hath taught him?
14 En ngʼa mane Jehova Nyasaye openjo mondo opuonje, koso en ngʼa mane onyise yo makare? En ngʼa ma nopuonje rieko koso en ngʼa mane onyise yor ngʼeyo?
With whom took he counsel, and [who] instructed him, and taught him in the path of judgment, and taught him knowledge, and shewed to him the way of understanding?
15 Adier ogendini chalo mana ka pi matin modongʼ e dapi; ee, gichalo mana ka buru momoko e ratil, opimo chula mag nembe e ratil mana ka buru mayom.
Behold, the nations [are] as a drop of a bucket, and are counted as the small dust of the balance: behold, he taketh up the isles as a very little thing.
16 Yiende mag Lebanon ok oromo moko mach mar kendo mar misango, kata le man kuno nok ma ok oromo timogo misango miwangʼo pep.
And Lebanon [is] not sufficient to burn, nor the beasts thereof sufficient for a burnt offering.
17 Ogendini duto ok gimoro e nyime, okwanogi ka gik manono, maonge tich.
All nations before him [are] as nothing; and they are counted to him less than nothing, and vanity.
18 En ngʼa ma dipim gi Nyasaye? Koso en kido mane madiwach ni chal kode?
To whom then will ye liken God? or what likeness will ye compare unto him?
19 To nyiseche manono, jatheth nyalo loso kendo jatheth nyalo bawe gi dhahabu, mi olosne thiwni mar fedha.
The workman melteth a graven image, and the goldsmith spreadeth it over with gold, and casteth silver chains.
20 Ngʼat modhier ma ok nyal golo chiwo machalo kama, yiero yien ma ok tow. Omanyo japecho molony mondo olosne kido ma ok nyal podho piny.
He that [is] so impoverished that he hath no oblation chooseth a tree [that] will not rot; he seeketh unto him a cunning workman to prepare a graven image, [that] shall not be moved.
21 Donge ungʼeyo Koso donge usewinjo? Pok owachnu nyaka aa chakruok? Koso pok wachno odonjonu nyaka ne chwe pinyni.
Have ye not known? have ye not heard? hath it not been told you from the beginning? have ye not understood from the foundations of the earth?
22 Nyasaye obet e kom duongʼne kuma bor moyombo piny kendo joma ni e polo ngʼeny machalo kama ongogo ochokoree. Oyaro polo mana ka tipo maduongʼ kendo oyarogi mana ka hema midakie.
[It is] he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof [are] as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in:
23 Odwoko ruodhi piny kendo omiyo jotelo duto mag pinyni bet kanono.
That bringeth the princes to nothing; he maketh the judges of the earth as vanity.
24 Ka okudhogi gi muche to giner mi kalausi dhi kodgi ka mihudhwe, nikech gichalo gi kodhi mokom machiegni, ma tiendgi pok ochwowo lowo.
Yea, they shall not be planted; yea, they shall not be sown: yea, their stock shall not take root in the earth: and he shall also blow upon them, and they shall wither, and the whirlwind shall take them away as stubble.
25 Nyasaye Maler penjo niya, “En ngʼa madupima-go? Koso en ngʼa madirom koda?”
To whom then will ye liken me, or shall I be equal? saith the Holy One.
26 Tingʼuru wengeu malo kendo ungʼi polo: En ngʼa manochweyo gigi duto? Donge en ema nomiyo sulwe manie kor polo obetie kokelogi achiel kachiel, koluongo moro ka moro gi nyinge. Onge moro kuomgi molal nikech tekone duongʼ kod nyalone.
Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these [things], that bringeth out their host by number: he calleth them all by names by the greatness of his might, for that [he is] strong in power; not one faileth.
27 Yaye joka Jakobo angʼo momiyo uwuoyo, angʼo momiyo ungʼur, yaye jo-Israel, kuwacho niya, “Jehova Nyasaye ok dew yorena; kendo ni yorena ok okwan ka gimoro gi Nyasacha.”
Why sayest thou, O Jacob, and speakest, O Israel, My way is hid from the LORD, and my judgment is passed over from my God?
28 Donge ungʼeyo? Koso pok uwinjo? Jehova Nyasaye en Nyasaye manyaka chiengʼ kendo Jachwech mar piny duto. Ok nobed mool bende ok nonyosre, kendo pache onge ngʼama nyalo ngʼeyo.
Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, [that] the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? [there is] no searching of his understanding.
29 Omiyo joma ool teko kendo omedo joma tekregi orumo bedo motegno.
He giveth power to the faint; and to [them that have] no might he increaseth strength.
30 Jomatindo nyalo bedo mool mi nyosre, kendo yawuowi nyalo chwanyore mi podhi,
Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:
31 to joma oketo genogi kuom Jehova Nyasaye tekregi nodwogi. Gibiro huyo mana ka ongo mafuyo gi bwombe; gibiro ringo to ok gibi bedo mool, bende gibiro wuotho to tekregi ok norum.
But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew [their] strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; [and] they shall walk, and not faint.
