< Tich Joote 14 >

1 E Ikonio bende, Paulo gi Barnaba ne jodhi e sinagogi mar jo-Yahudi kaka negijatimo. Kanyo bende ne giyale gi teko, mi jo-Yahudi gi joma ok jo-Yahudi mathoth noyie kuom Yesu.
And it came to pass in Iconium, that they entered together into the synagogue of the Jews, and so spake, that a great multitude both of Jews and of Greeks believed.
2 To jo-Yahudi moko ma notamore yie kuom Yesu noketho chuny joma ok jo-Yahudi, kendo negiketo kwiri marach e chunygi, mondo giked gi jowete.
But the Jews that were disobedient stirred up the souls of the Gentiles, and made them evil affected against the brethren.
3 Paulo gi Barnaba nobedo kuno kuom ndalo mogwarore, ka giwuoyo gi chir kuom Ruoth Yesu, kendo Nyasaye nodoko janeno kuom wach ngʼwonone, komiyo joote timo honni gi ranyisi.
Long time therefore they tarried [there] speaking boldly in the Lord, which bare witness unto the word of his grace, granting signs and wonders to be done by their hands.
4 Jo-dalano nopogore nyadiriyo ka moko odok ni jo-Yahudi, to moko nodok ni joote.
But the multitude of the city was divided; and part held with the Jews, and part with the apostles.
5 Eka joma ok jo-Yahudi kod jo-Yahudi, kaachiel gi jotendgi nochano lingʼ-lingʼ mondo gisand joote kendo gichielgi gi kite.
And when there was made an onset both of the Gentiles and of the Jews with their rulers, to entreat them shamefully, and to stone them,
6 To joote nofwenyo gima negichano timo, omiyo negiringo gidhi Lustra gi Derbe, mier mag Lukaonia, kendo e mier molworogi,
they became aware of it, and fled unto the cities of Lycaonia, Lystra and Derbe, and the region round about:
7 mi kuno bende ne giyaloe Injili.
and there they preached the gospel.
8 E dala mar Lustra, ne nitiere ngʼat moro ma tiendeni ongʼol. Ngʼatni nongʼol nyaka aa nywolne kendo ne pok owuotho nyaka nene.
And at Lystra there sat a certain man, impotent in his feet, a cripple from his mother’s womb, who never had walked.
9 Nochiko ite kowinjo kaka Paulo ne wuoyo. Paulo nongʼiye tir moneno ka en-gi yie mane nyalo miyo ochangi,
The same heard Paul speaking: who, fastening his eyes upon him, and seeing that he had faith to be made whole,
10 mi nowachone giduol maduongʼ niya, “Chungʼ gi tiendi!” Gikanyono ngʼatno nochikore malo mochako wuoth.
said with a loud voice, Stand upright on thy feet. And he leaped up and walked.
11 Kane oganda mane ni kanyo oneno gima Paulo otimo, ne gikok gi dho jo-Lukaonia niya, “Nyiseche osekawo kit dhano mi obiro irwa ka!”
And when the multitudes saw what Paul had done, they lifted up their voice, saying in the speech of Lycaonia, The gods are come down to us in the likeness of men.
12 Negimiyo Barnaba nying ni Zeu, to Paulo negichako ni Hermes, nikech en ema ne en jayalo maduongʼ.
And they called Barnabas, Jupiter; and Paul, Mercury, because he was the chief speaker.
13 Jadolo mar Zeu, ma hekalune noger machiegni gi dalano, nokelo rwedhi kod maua mi giketo e dhoranga dalano mondo en, kaachiel gi oganda, gitim misango ni Paulo kod Barnaba.
And the priest of Jupiter whose [temple] was before the city, brought oxen and garlands unto the gates, and would have done sacrifice with the multitudes.
14 To ka joote Paulo gi Barnaba nowinjo wachno, ne giyiecho lepgi mi giringo matek ka gichomo ogandano, ka gikok niya,
But when the apostles, Barnabas and Paul, heard of it, they rent their garments, and sprang forth among the multitude, crying out
15 “Jowadwa, utimonwa kamano nikech angʼo? Wan mana ji kaka un. Wakelonu Injili manyisou mondo ua e gik manonogi mondo ungʼe Nyasaye Mangima, manochweyo polo gi piny gi nam kod gik moko duto manie igi.
and saying, Sirs, why do ye these things? We also are men of like passions with you, and bring you good tidings, that ye should turn from these vain things unto the living God, who made the heaven and the earth and the sea, and all that in them is:
16 Kinde mokalo Nyasaye noweyo ogendini duto mondo oluw yoregi giwegi.
who in the generations gone by suffered all the nations to walk in their own ways.
17 To kata kamano, ok oseweyowa maonge yo ma dwangʼeyego. Osenyisou ngʼwonone komiyou koth moa e polo, kendo komiyo cham chieknu e kinde mowinjore; osebedo komiyou chiemo mathoth kendo opongʼo chunyu gi mor.”
And yet he left not himself without witness, in that he did good, and gave you from heaven rains and fruitful seasons, filling your hearts with food and gladness.
18 To kata negisewuoyo kamano, jogo ne pod dwaro mana timonegi misango.
And with these sayings scarce restrained they the multitudes from doing sacrifice unto them.
19 Bangʼe jo-Yahudi moko nobiro koa Antiokia kod Ikonio mi gisemo ji odoknigi. Negigoyo Paulo gi kite mi giywaye e lowo nyaka oko mar dala, ka giparo ni osetho.
But there came Jews thither from Antioch and Iconium: and having persuaded the multitudes, they stoned Paul, and dragged him out of the city, supposing that he was dead.
20 To ka jopuonjre nobiro molwore kama noninde, noa malo modok ei dalano. Kinyne ne giwuok gi Barnaba mi gidhi Derbe.
But as the disciples stood round about him, he rose up, and entered into the city: and on the morrow he went forth with Barnabas to Derbe.
21 Paulo gi Barnaba ne joyalo Injili e dala mar Derbe mi giloko jopuonjre mangʼeny. Bangʼe negidok Lustra, gi Ikonio kod Antiokia,
And when they had preached the gospel to that city, and had made many disciples, they returned to Lystra, and to Iconium, and to Antioch,
22 ka gitego chuny jopuonjre kendo gijiwogi mondo gisiki e yie. Negipuonjogi kagiwacho niya, “Wan duto nyaka wane sand mathoth eka wadonji e pinyruoth Nyasaye.”
confirming the souls of the disciples, exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that through many tribulations we must enter into the kingdom of God.
23 Kane giseketo jodongo e kanisa ka kanisa, mi gilamonegi ka gitweyo chiemo, negiketogi e lwet Ruoth Yesu mane giseyie kuome.
And when they had appointed for them elders in every church, and had prayed with fasting, they commended them to the Lord, on whom they had believed.
24 Negiluwo piny Pisidia mi gichopo Pamfilia,
And they passed through Pisidia, and came to Pamphylia.
25 to bangʼ yalo Injili Perga, negidhi mwalo nyaka Atalia.
And when they had spoken the word in Perga, they went down to Attalia;
26 Kane gia Atalia, negikwangʼ mi gidok Antiokia, kuma ne giyudo e pwoch kuom tich maber mane gisetimo kuom ngʼwono mar Nyasaye.
and thence they sailed to Antioch, from whence they had been committed to the grace of God for the work which they had fulfilled.
27 Kane gichopo kuno, negichoko kanisa kaachiel mi ginyisogi gik moko duto ma Nyasaye nosetimo ka otiyo kodgi, kendo kaka noseyawo dhoot mar yie mondo joma ok jo-Yahudi oyud warruok.
And when they were come, and had gathered the church together, they rehearsed all things that God had done with them, and how that he had opened a door of faith unto the Gentiles.
28 Negibet gi jopuonjre kuno kuom ndalo mangʼeny.
And they tarried no little time with the disciples.
