< 1 Ruodhi 14 >
1 E kindeno Abija wuod Jeroboam nobedo matuo,
At that time, fell sick, Abijah son of Jeroboam.
2 kendo Jeroboam nowacho ni chiege niya, “Dhiyo, iwuondri mondo kik ngʼato fweny ni in chi Jeroboam, kendo dhi nyaka Shilo nimar Ahija janabi nikuro, en ema nonyisa ni anabed ruodh jogi.
Then said Jeroboam to his wife—Arise, I pray thee, and feign thyself another, that it be not known, that, thou, art the wife of Jeroboam, —and thou shalt go thy way to Shiloh, lo! there, is Ahijah the prophet, who promised I should be king over this people;
3 Kaw makati apar gi kek moko kod chupa mar mor kich kendo dhi ire. Obiro nyisi gima biro timore ni nyathino.”
and thou shall take with thee ten loaves, and cracknels, and a bottle of honey, and shalt go unto him, —he, will tell thee what shall befall the young man.
4 Omiyo chi Jeroboam notimo kaka nonyise modhi e od Ahija man Shilo. Ahija ne muofu ma ok nyal neno, nikech ne oseti.
And the wife of Jeroboam, did so, and arose, and went to Shiloh, and entered the house of Ahijah, —now, Ahijah, could not see, for his eyes were fixed, by reason of his old age.
5 To Jehova Nyasaye nosewacho ni Ahija niya, Chi Jeroboam biro penji kuom wuode, nimar otuo kendo nyaka imiye dwoko machalo kama kata kamacha. Kochopo to obiro wuondore ni en ngʼat machielo.
But, Yahweh, had said unto Ahijah—Lo! the wife of Jeroboam, coming to enquire something of thee, concerning her son, for he is sick, thus and so, shalt thou speak unto her, —though, when she cometh in, she feign to be a stranger-woman.
6 Kamano kane Ahija owinjo tiende e dhoot nowacho niya, “Donji, chi Jeroboam. En angʼo momiyo iwuondori? Oseora iri gi wach marach.
So it came to pass, when Ahijah heard the sound of her feet, as she entered the doorway, that he said—Come in, thou wife of Jeroboam, —wherefore, is it that thou art feigning to be a stranger-woman, seeing that, I, am sent unto thee, with something hard to bear?
7 Dhiyo, inyis Jeroboam ni ma e gima Jehova Nyasaye Nyasach Israel owacho, ‘Ne ayieri e kind ji duto mi aketi jatend joga Israel.
Go, say to Jeroboam—Thus, saith Yahweh, God of Israel, Forasmuch as I exalted thee out of the midst of the people, —and gave thee to be leader over my people Israel;
8 Ne apogo pinyruoth koa e od Daudi mi amiyi, to ok isebedo kaka jatichna Daudi mane orito chikena kendo noluwa gi chunye duto kotimo mana gima kare e nyima.
and rent the kingdom away from the house of David, and gave it to thee, —and yet thou hast not been like my servant David, who kept my commandments, and who followed me, with all his heart, to do only that which was right in mine eyes;
9 Isetimo richo moloyo ji duto mane odak kapok idak. Iseloso ne in iwuon nyiseche mamoko, nyiseche mag chuma; isemiyo iya owangʼ mi idhira ka ngʼeyi.
but hast made wicked thy doings beyond any who were before thee, —and hast gone and made thee ether gods, even molten images, to provoke me to anger, and hast cast, me, behind thy back,
10 “‘Kuom mano, adhi kelo chandruok ne od Jeroboam. Abiro ngʼado yawuowi duto mawuok e od Jeroboam man Israel bed ni gin wasumbini kata ok gin wasumbini. Abiro wangʼo od Jeroboam mana kaka ngʼato wangʼo owuoyo nyaka oliel duto.
therefore, behold me! bringing misfortune against the house of Jeroboam, and I will cut off the meanest pertaining to Jeroboam, whether shut up or left at large, in Israel, —and will consume after the house of Jeroboam, as one consumeth dung, till it be all gone:
11 Guogi biro chamo joka Jeroboam motho e dala maduongʼ kendo winy mae kor polo biro chamo mago motho e pap. Jehova Nyasaye osewacho!’
Him that dieth of Jeroboam in the city, shall, the dogs, eat, and, him that dieth in the field, shall, the birds of heaven, eat, —For, Yahweh, hath spoken.
12 “To in, dogi dala, ka inyono dala. Ka inyono dala maduongʼ, to nyathino notho.
Thou, therefore, arise, go to thine own house, —as thy feet are entering the city, the young man shall die.
13 Israel duto biro ywage mi ike. En kende e jaka Jeroboam mibiro iki, nikech en kende ema en e od Jeroboam ma Jehova Nyasaye ma Nyasach Israel oseyudoe gimoro maber.
Then shall all Israel lament for him, and bury him, for, this one, pertaining to Jeroboam, shall reach a burying-place, —because there hath been found in him something good toward Yahweh, God of Israel, in the house of Jeroboam.
14 “Jehova Nyasaye biro yiero ni en owuon ruoth ni jo-Israel mabiro tieko dhood joka Jeroboam. Ma e odiechiengʼ! Angʼo? Ee, kata mana sani.
Therefore will Yahweh raise up for himself a king over Israel, who will cut off the house of Jeroboam, this day, but why, even now?
15 Kendo Jehova Nyasaye biro goyo Israel, mochal mana gi odundu ma yamo tero ewi pi. Obiro pudho Israel oko kogologi e piny maber mane omiyo kweregi mi okegi loka Aora nikech negimiyo Jehova Nyasaye mirima ka giloso ludhe mag Ashera.
Therefore will Yahweh smite Israel, as a reed shaketh in water, and will root out Israel, from off this goodly soil, which he gave unto their fathers, and will scatter them beyond the River (Euphrates), —because they have made their Sacred Stems, provoking Yahweh to anger:
16 Nojwangʼ Israel nikech richo mane Jeroboam otimo kendo mosemiyo Israel otimo.”
That he may deliver up Israel, —on account of the sin of Jeroboam, which he committed, and which he caused, Israel, to commit.
17 Eka chi Jeroboam noa malo modhi Tirza. E kinde mane ochopo e laru mar dino cham, nyathino notho.
Then arose the wife of Jeroboam, and went her way and entered Tirzah, —as, she, was coming into the entrance hall, the young man died.
18 Ne giike kendo Israel duto noywage mana kaka Jehova Nyasaye nosewacho kaluwore gi dho jatichne janabi Ahija.
And, when they buried him, all Israel lamented him, —according to the word of Yahweh, which he spake through his servant Ahijah the prophet.
19 Timbe mamoko mag loch Jeroboam kaka lwenje mane okedo kod kaka nobedo e loch ondiki e kitepe mag rapar mag ruodhi mag Israel.
Now, the rest of the story of Jeroboam, how he warred, and how he reigned, behold them! written in the book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel.
20 Nobedo e loch kuom higni piero ariyo gariyo bangʼe to noyweyo gi kwerene. Kendo Nabad wuode nokawo lochne.
And, the days which Jeroboam reigned, were twenty-two years, —and he slept with his fathers, and, Nadab his son, reigned, in his stead.
21 Rehoboam wuod Solomon ne ruoth e Juda. Ne en ja-higni piero angʼwen gachiel kane obedo ruoth, kendo nobedo e loch kuom higni apar gabiriyo e Jerusalem, e dala maduongʼ mane Jehova Nyasaye oseyiero kuom dhoudi duto mag Israel mondo oketie Nyinge. Nying min-gi ne en Naama nyar jo-Amon.
And, Rehoboam, son of Solomon, reigned in Judah, —forty-one years old, was Rehoboam when he began to reign, and seventeen years, reigned he in Jerusalem, the city which Yahweh had chosen to put his Name there, out of all the tribes of Israel, and, his mother’s name, was Naamah, the Ammonitess.
22 Juda notimo richo e nyim Jehova Nyasaye. Kuom richo mane gitimo, negimiyo Nyasaye mirima omako kodgi moloyo kaka kweregi notimo.
And Judah did the thing that was wicked in the eyes of Yahweh, —and provoked him to jealousy, above all that their fathers had done, with their sins which they committed.
23 Bende negilosone gin giwegi kuonde motingʼore, kite milamo kod yiende mag Ashera ewi gode maboyo kendo e bwo yiende motarore.
And, they also, built for themselves high places and pillars, and Sacred Stems, —upon every high hill, and under every green tree.
24 Bende ne nitie kata mana chwo materore kuonde lemo e pinyno, ne nitie kendo ji notimo timbe dwanyruok mag ogendini mane Jehova Nyasaye oriembo oko e nyim jo-Israel.
Moreover also, there were, male devotees, in the land, —they did according to all the abominable practices of the nations, which Yahweh dispossessed from before the sons of Israel.
25 E higa mar abich mar loch ruoth Rehoboam, Shishak ruodh Misri nomonjo Jerusalem.
And it came to pass, in the fifth year of King Rehoboam, that Shishak king of Egypt, came up against Jerusalem;
26 Noyako mwandu hekalu mar Jehova Nyasaye kaachiel gi mwandu mag od ruoth. Nokawo gimoro amora, kaachiel gi kuodi mag dhahabu mane Solomon ochuogo.
and took away the treasures of the house of Yahweh, and the treasures of the house of the king, yea, the whole, took he away, —and took away all the bucklers of gold, which, Solomon, had made.
27 Omiyo ruoth Rehoboam nochwogo okumbni mag nyinyo mondo oket kar mane okawgo kendo nomiyo jotelo mag jorit mane rito rangach midonjogo e dala ruoth.
So King Rehoboam made, in their stead, bucklers of bronze, —and committed them unto the hand of the captains of the runners, who kept guard at the entrance of the house of the king.
28 E kinde moro amora mane ruoth dhi e hekalu mar Jehova Nyasaye, joritogo ne tingʼo kuodigo kendo bangʼe negidwokogi e od jorito.
And so it was, whensoever the king went into the house of Yahweh, the runners bare them, and then brought them back into the chamber of the runners.
29 Kuom weche mamoko mag loch Rehoboam, kaachiel gi gik moko duto mane otimo, donge ondikgi e kitap rapar mag ruodhi mag Juda?
Now, the rest of the story of Rehoboam, and all that he did, are, they, not written in the book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah?
30 Ne nitiere lweny ma ok rum e kind Rehoboam gi Jeroboam.
And there was, war, between Rehoboam and Jeroboam, continually.
31 Rehoboam notho kaka kwerene kendo noyike kodgi e Dala Maduongʼ mar Daudi. Nying min-gi ne en Naama; ma nyar jo-Amon. Abija wuode nobedo ruoth kare.
So then Rehoboam slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David, and, the name of his mother, was Naamah the Ammonitess, —and, Abijah his son, reigned, in his stead.
