< 1 Jo-Korintho 8 >

1 Kuom wach chiemo motimgo misango ni nyiseche manono to awachoe kama: Wangʼeyo ni wan duto wan gi rieko. Rieko kelo sunga ni dhano, to hera to gero ji.
Now concerning things sacrificed to idols: We know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up.
2 Ngʼat makawore ni ongʼeyo gimoro kik par ni osengʼeyo moromo kaka dwarore.
But if anyone thinks that he knows anything, he does not yet know as he ought to know.
3 To ngʼat mohero Nyasaye, to Nyasaye ongʼeyo.
But if anyone loves God, the same is known by him.
4 To kuom wach mar chamo chiemo motimgo misango ni nyiseche manono, to awachoe kama: Wangʼeyo ni “Nyasaye manono en gima nono e piny-ka,” kendo wangʼeyo ni “Onge Nyasaye moro makmana achiel.”
Therefore concerning the eating of things sacrificed to idols, we know that no idol is anything in the world, and that there is no God but one.
5 Nikech kata bed ni gik miluongo ni nyisechego nitie, kata gibed e polo, kata e piny mana (kaka nitie “nyiseche” mangʼeny kod “ruodhi” mangʼeny),
For though there are things that are called "gods," whether in the heavens or on earth; as there are many "gods" and many "lords;"
6 wan to wangʼeyo ni nitie Nyasaye achiel kende, ma en Wuoro. En ema gik moko duto noa kuome, kendo nomiyowa ngima. Bende nitie Ruoth achiel kende ma en Yesu Kristo. En ema nomiyo gik moko duto obetie kendo en ema omiyowa ngima.
yet to us there is one God, the Father, from whom are all things, and we for him; and one Lord, Yeshua the Messiah, through whom are all things, and we live through him.
7 To ji duto ok ongʼeyo wachni. Jomoko pod ongʼiyo gi nyiseche manono ma ka gichamo chiemo makamano to giparo mana ni en motimnigo nyasaye manono misango; to nikech chunygi mar pogo ber gi rach otho, gidoko mochido.
However, not all have this knowledge. But some, being so accustomed to idols until now, eat as of a thing sacrificed to an idol, and their conscience, being weak, is defiled.
8 To chiemo ok kelwa machiegni gi Nyasaye. Kata ka ok wachiemo, to ok wabed jomaricho, to bende ka wachiemo, to onge ohala ma wayudo.
But food will not commend us to God. For neither, if we do not eat, are we the worse; nor, if we eat, are we the better.
9 Kuom mano, bed motangʼ mondo thuolo ma in-go mar chiemo kata mar weyo chiemo kik lokre kidi mar chwanyruok ni joma yiegi yomyom.
But be careful that by no means does this liberty of yours become a stumbling block to the weak.
10 Nikech ka ngʼat man-gi yie mayomyomno oneni, in miwacho ni in gi yie motegno, kichiemo e hekalu mar nyiseche manono, donge mano nyalo ywaye mi ocham chiemo motimgo misango ni nyiseche manono?
For if someone sees you who have knowledge sitting in an idol's temple, won't his conscience, if he is weak, be emboldened to eat things sacrificed to idols?
11 Omiyo ngʼat man-gi yie mayomyomni ma Kristo nothoneno koro kethore mana nikech rieko miwachogo ni iriek.
And through your knowledge, he who is weak perishes, the brother for whom the Messiah died.
12 Sa ma itimo richo ni joweteni e yo makamano, kihinyo chunygi mayom yom, ngʼeni itimo richo ni Kristo.
Thus, sinning against the brothers, and wounding their conscience when it is weak, you sin against Messiah.
13 Kuom mano, ka gima achamo nyalo miyo wadwa donjo e richo, to abiro weyo chamo ringʼo chuth mondo kik ami opodhi. (aiōn g165)
Therefore, if food causes my brother to stumble, I will eat no meat forevermore, that I do not cause my brother to stumble. (aiōn g165)
