Psalmi 116
1 Ljubim Jahvu jer čuje vapaj molitve moje:
I love Yahweh—because he heareth my voice, my supplications;
2 uho svoje prignu k meni u dan u koji ga zazvah.
Because he hath bowed down his ear unto me, therefore, throughout my days, will I call.
The meshes of death encompassed me, and the distresses of hades, came upon me, Peril and sorrow, I found; (Sheol h7585)
4 Tada zazvah ime Jahvino: “O Jahve, spasi život moj!”
But, on the Name of Yahweh, I called—I beseech thee, Yahweh, deliver my soul.
5 Dobrostiv je Jahve i pravedan, pun sućuti je Bog naš.
Gracious is Yahweh and righteous, and, our God, is full of compassion.
6 Jahve čuva bezazlene: u nevolji bijah, on me izbavi.
Yahweh, preserveth the simple, I was brought low, when, to me, he granted salvation.
7 Vrati se, dušo moja, u svoj pokoj, jer Jahve je dobrotvor tvoj.
Return, O my soul, to thy rest, For, Yahweh, hath dealt bountifully with thee.
8 On mi život od smrti izbavi, oči moje od suza, noge od pada.
For thou hast rescued my soul from death, —mine eyes from tears, my feet from stumbling.
9 Hodit ću pred licem Jahvinim u zemlji živih.
I will walk to and fro before Yahweh, in the lands of life.
10 Ja vjerujem i kada kažem: “Nesretan sam veoma.”
I believed that I should speak, I, was greatly depressed.
11 U smetenosti svojoj rekoh: “Svaki je čovjek lažac!”
I, said in mine alarm, All men, are false!
12 Što da uzvratim Jahvi za sve što mi je učinio?
How shall I give back to Yahweh, All his benefits unto me?
13 Uzet ću čašu spasenja i zazvat ću ime Jahvino.
The cup of salvation, will I lift, and, on the Name of Yahweh, will I call:
14 Izvršit ću Jahvi zavjete svoje pred svim pukom njegovim.
My vows—to Yahweh, will I pay, Might it be in presence of all his people!
15 Dragocjena je u očima Jahvinim smrt pobožnika njegovih.
Costly in the eyes of Yahweh, is, death, for his men of lovingkindness.
16 Jahve, tvoj sam sluga, tvoj sluga, sin sluškinje tvoje: ti si razriješio okove moje.
I beseech thee, O Yahweh—for, I, am thy servant, —I, am thy servant, the son of thy handmaid, Thou hast loosened my bonds.
17 Tebi ću prinijeti žrtve zahvalne, zazvat ću ime Jahvino.
To thee, will I sacrifice a sacrifice of thanksgiving, and, on the Name of Yahweh, will I call:
18 Izvršit ću Jahvi zavjete svoje pred svim pukom njegovim,
My vows—to Yahweh, will I pay, Might it be in the presence of all his people; —
19 u predvorjima Doma Jahvina, posred tebe, Jeruzaleme!
In the courts of the house of Yahweh, In the midst of thee, O Jerusalem. Praise ye Yah!
