< Isaiah 2 >
1 Amoz capa Isaiah ni, Judah ram hoi Jerusalem hoi kâkuen lah a hmu e vision teh,
The thing that Isaiah son of Amoz has seen concerning Judah and Jerusalem:
2 a hnukteng e hnin teh, BAWIPA im saknae mon teh, monsomnaw e lathueng vah, tawm lah ao vaiteh, caksak lah ao han. Miphun pueng ni hote mon koe a kamkhueng awh han.
And it has come to pass, In the latter end of the days, The mountain of YHWH’s house is established, Above the top of the mountains, And it has been lifted up above the heights, And all the nations have flowed to it.
3 Taminaw ni hai, tho awh. BAWIPA e mon, Cathut im koe cet awh sei. A lamthung hah na pâtu awh vaiteh, a lamthung dawn awh han, telah kahlawng cei laihoi ati awh han. Bangkongtetpawiteh, kâlawk teh Zion mon hoi tâcawt vaiteh, Cathut lawk teh Jerusalem hoi a tâco han.
And many peoples have gone and said, “Come, and we go up to the mountain of YHWH, To the house of the God of Jacob, And He teaches us of His ways, And we walk in His paths, For a law goes forth from Zion, And a word of YHWH from Jerusalem.
4 Cathut ni miphunnaw hah lawkceng vaiteh, tami moikapap hah a yue han. Ahnimae tahloinaw hah thunha lah thoseh, tahroenaw hah tangkoun lah thoseh, a dêi awh han. Ram buet touh hoi buet touh tarankâtuk mahoeh toe. Taran tuknae hai kâpâtu awh mahoeh toe.
And He has judged between the nations, And has given a decision to many peoples, And they have beat their swords to plowshares, And their spears to pruning-hooks, Nation does not lift up sword to nation, Nor do they learn anymore—war.
5 Oe Jakop imthungnaw tho awh. BAWIPA angnae dawk khosak awh haw sei.
O house of Jacob, come, And we walk in the light of YHWH.”
6 Bangtelah tetpawiteh, Jakop imthung, na taminaw hah na ceitakhai toe. Bangkongtetpawiteh, ahnimouh teh, Kanîtholae naw patetlah kho a sak awh teh, Filistinnaw patetlah khueyue lah ao awh teh, ramlouknaw hoi a kâhuiko awh.
For You have left Your people, the house of Jacob. For they have been filled from the east, And [are] sorcerers like the Philistines, And strike hands with the children of strangers.
7 Ahnimae ram teh sui ngun hoi akawi teh, a tawnta awh e teh touklek thai hoeh. Ahnimae ram hai marang hoi akawi teh, rangleng touklek thai hoeh.
And its land is full of silver and gold, And there is no end to its treasures, And its land is full of horses, And there is no end to its chariots,
8 Ahnimae ram teh, meikaphawknaw hoi akawi teh, amamae kut hoi sak e hnonaw patenghai a lûsaling awh toe.
And its land is full of idols, It bows itself to the work of its hands, To that which its fingers have made,
9 Tami pueng ni a tabo awh teh, koung a kârahnoum sak awh. Hatdawkvah, ahnimae yonnae teh, BAWIPA ni ngaithoum hoeh.
And the low bows down, and the high is humbled, And You do not accept them.
10 BAWIPA ni talai kahuet hanelah a tho toteh, takinae hoi a bawilen taluenae dawkvah, talung thung kâen awh, vaiphu thung kâhrawk awh.
Enter into a rock, and be hidden in dust, Because of the fear of YHWH, And because of the honor of His excellence.
11 Hatnae tueng dawkvah, kâoupnaw rahnoum sak vaiteh, kâtalue e naw pabo vaiteh, BAWIPA duengdoeh tawm lah kaawm han.
The haughty eyes of man have been humbled, And the loftiness of men has been bowed down, And YHWH alone has been set on high in that day.
12 Rasahu BAWIPA e hnin teh, kârasang e hoi kâoup e tami pueng e lathueng thoseh,
For a day [is] to YHWH of Hosts, For every proud and high one, And for every lifted up and low one,
13 Lebanon mon e sidarkung ka rahnoum ka rasang e pueng koe thoseh, Bashan ram e kathenkungnaw pueng e lathueng thoseh,
And for all cedars of Lebanon, The high and the exalted ones, And for all oaks of Bashan,
14 mon karasangpoung e lathueng thoseh, mon kathoung pueng e lathueng thoseh,
And for all the high mountains, And for all the exalted heights,
15 Ka rasang e imrasang lathueng thoseh, rapan pueng e lathueng thoseh,
And for every high tower, And for every fortified wall,
16 Tarshish long pueng lathueng thoseh, ngai kaawm e vision pueng e lathueng thoseh a pha han.
And for all ships of Tarshish, And for all desirable pictures.
17 Tami kâoupnae rahnoum sak vaiteh, a kârasangnae hah pabo lah ao han. Hat hnin dawkvah, BAWIPA dueng tawm lah ao han.
And the haughtiness of man has been bowed down, And the loftiness of men humbled, And YHWH alone has been set on high in that day.
18 Kutsak pueng teh, khoeroe kahma han toe.
And the idols—they completely pass away.
19 BAWIPA ni talai a kahuet hanelah a tho toteh, takinae hoi a bawilen taluenae dawkvah, taminaw teh lungngoum thung, talai kâkhu thung a kâen awh han.
And [men] have entered into caverns of rocks, And into caves of dust, Because of the fear of YHWH, And because of the honor of His excellence, In His rising to terrify the earth.
20 Hatnae atueng dawkvah, taminaw ni ouk a bawk awh e sui hoi, ngun hoi ma hanelah raphoe sak e meikaphawk hah, thangbui hoi bongpinaw koe a tâkhawng awh han.
In that day man casts his idols of silver, And his idols of gold, That they have made for him to worship, To moles, and to bats,
21 BAWIPA ni talai kahuet hanelah a tho toteh, takinae, a bawilen taluenae dawkvah talung khu, ravonaw thung a yawng awh han.
To enter into cavities of the rocks, And into clefts of the high places, Because of the fear of YHWH, And because of the honor of His excellence, In His rising to terrify the earth.
22 Hnawng hoi kâha e tami hah kâuep awh hanh. Ahnimouh teh, banghai cungkeinae awm hoeh.
Cease yourselves from man, Whose breath [is] in his nostrils, For—in what is he esteemed?
