1 Nebukhadnezar a bawinae a kum pahni navah, a mang lah a hmu e hno dawkvah roumkalue teh ip thai hoeh.
And in the second year of the reign of Nebuchadnezzar, Nebuchadnezzar has dreamed dreams, and his spirit moves itself, and his sleep has been against him;
2 Hat toteh, siangpahrang ni a ram thung kaawm e mitpalei kathoumnaw, kutkhetkathoumnaw, kahrai ka pâlei thainaw hoi, Khaldeannaw hah pâkhueng awh ati e patetlah ahnimanaw a tho awh teh,
and the king says to call for enchanters, and for conjurers, and for sorcerers, and for Chaldeans, to declare to the king his dreams. And they come in and stand before the king;
3 siangpahrang ni ka mang lah ka hmu e hah bang ngainae ne, ka panue thai hoeh dawkvah, ka lung nawm hoeh, dei awh haw atipouh.
and the king says to them, “I have dreamed a dream, and my spirit is moved to know the dream.”
4 Hatnavah Khaldeannaw ni Aramaih lawk lahoi, siangpahrang na hring saw seh. Kaimouh koe na mang hah rui haw. Kaimouh ni na mang teh ka leh awh vai nei atipouh awh.
And the Chaldeans speak to the king [in] Aramaic, “O king, live for all ages, tell the dream to your servants, and we show the interpretation.”
5 Siangpahrang ni yo ka dei toung hat tayaw. Hote mang hoi a ngainae na dei thai awh hoehpawiteh, tawntarawn lah na tâtueng awh han. Na imlawnaw hai vaipuen songnawng lah ka coung sak han atipouh.
The king has answered and said to the Chaldeans, “The thing is gone from me; if you do not cause me to know the dream and its interpretation, you are made pieces, and your houses are made dunghills;
6 Mang hoi deingainae na deicai pawiteh, poehnonaw, tawkphunaw hoi barinae kalen a hmu han. Hatdawkvah, mang hoi deingainae hah kai koe dei awh telah Khaldean a lungkaangnaw koe atipouh.
and if the dream and its interpretation you show, gifts, and fee, and great glory you receive from before me, therefore the dream and its interpretation you show me.”
7 Ahnimanaw ni, siangpahrang, na mang hah kaimouh koe dei haw, kaimouh ni ka leh awh vainei bout atipouh awh.
They have answered a second time, and are saying, “Let the king tell the dream to his servants, and we show the interpretation.”
8 Hat toteh, siangpahrang ni yo ka dei toung hatayaw. A hnin thapa asaw nahanelah atueng tahruet sak hane doeh na ngai awh tie ka panue.
The king has answered and said, “Of a truth I know that you are gaining time, because that you have seen that the thing is gone from me,
9 Mang hah na dei awh hoehpawiteh, pouknae buet touh duengdoeh kaawm. Atueng kasaw nakunghai, laithoe hrawnghrang doeh dei hanelah na kâcai awh toe. Mang hah bout deih awh. Hottelah na dei thai awh pawiteh, leh hai na leh thai awh han tie ka panue bout atipouh.
[so] that, if you do not cause me to know the dream—one is your sentence, seeing a lying and corrupt word you have prepared to speak before me, until the time is changed, therefore tell the dream to me, then I know that you show me its interpretation.”
10 Khaldeannaw ni, siangpahrang nang ni na dei e patetlah ka dei thai hane tami buet touh boehai awm hoeh. Bangpatet e siangpahrang ni hai a lentoe eiteh, mitpaleikathoumnaw, camkathoumnaw, Khaldean taminaw koe hettelah pacei boihoeh.
The Chaldeans have answered before the king, and are saying, “There is not a man on the earth who is able to show the king’s matter; therefore, no king, chief, and ruler, has asked such a thing as this of any scribe, and enchanter, and Chaldean;
11 Siangpahrang nang ni na pacei e teh, ka ru poung e hno doeh. Tami lah kaawm hoeh e Cathut hloilah apinihai pâpho thai mahoeh bout atipouh awh.
and the thing that the king is asking [is] precious, and there are no others that show it before the king, except the gods, whose dwelling is not with flesh.”
12 Hote lawk hah a thai navah, puenghoi a lungkhuek teh, Babilon kho dawk kaawm e tami lungkaangnaw pueng koung thei lah awmseh telah kâ a poe.
Therefore the king has been furious and very angry, and has said to destroy all the wise men of Babylon.
13 Hat toteh, hote kâ hah a pathang awh teh, a lungkaangnaw thei a kamtawng awh teh, Daniel hoi a huinaw hah thei hanlah a tawng awh.
And the sentence has gone forth, and the wise men are being slain, and they have sought Daniel and his companions to be slain.
14 Daniel ni bangkongmaw siangpahrang e kâ teh, hettelah totouh a rang vaw telah,
Then Daniel has replied [with] counsel and discretion to Arioch chief of the executioners of the king, who has gone forth to slay the wise men of Babylon.
15 Babilon tami lungkaangnaw thei hanlah ka cet e naw kahrawikung, siangpahrang ka ring e Ariok koe kâhruetcuet laihoi a pacei.
He has answered and said to Arioch the king’s captain, “Why [is] the sentence so urgent from before the king?” Then Arioch has made the thing known to Daniel,
16 Ariok ni hote konglamnaw hah a dei navah, Daniel ni siangpahrang im a kâen teh, hote mang deicai nahanelah atueng na poe ei telah a kâhei.
and Daniel has gone up, and sought of the king that he would give him time to show the interpretation to the king.
17 Hahoi ama im a ban teh, hote akongnaw hah a huinaw Hananiah, Mishael, Azariah tinaw koe a dei pouh.
Then Daniel has gone to his house, and to Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, his companions, he has made the thing known,
18 Hat toteh, maimouh teh alouke Babilon a lungkaangnaw hoi reirei due awh hoeh nahanelah, hete hrolawk dawk lungmanae coe awh nahan, kalvan Cathut koe ratoum awh sei ati awh.
and to seek mercies from before the God of the heavens concerning this secret, that they do not destroy Daniel and his companions with the rest of the wise men of Babylon.
19 Karum toteh Cathut ni vision lahoi, hote hrolawk hah Daniel koe a dei pouh.
Then to Daniel, in a vision of the night, the secret has been revealed. Then Daniel has blessed the God of the heavens.
20 Hat toteh, Daniel ni kalvan Cathut e lungmanae hah a pholen teh, Cathut min teh a yungyoe hoi a yungyoe ditouh pholen lah awmseh. Lungangnae hoi hnotithainae hoi akawi.
Daniel has answered and said, “Let the Name of God be blessed from age even to age, for wisdom and might—for they are His.
21 A tue hoi khotue naw hah a kâthung sak. Siangpahrangnaw hai a pabo, a tawmtakhang, a lungkaang e naw koe lungangnae na poe. Kho ka pouk thai naw ni hai na lungmanae dawk hoi doeh a panue thai awh.
And He is changing times and seasons, He is causing kings to pass away, and He is raising up kings; He is giving wisdom to the wise, and knowledge to those possessing understanding.
22 Ka ru e hnonaw hai kamcengcalah, na patue awh. A hmonae koe kaawm e pueng na panue teh, nama koe angnae teh ao.
He is revealing deep and hidden things; He has known what [is] in darkness, and light has dwelt with Him.
23 Mintoenaw e Cathut, hnotithainae hoi lungangnae na poe teh, kaimouh ni ka ratoum awh e patetlah siangpahrang e a mang pâpho thainae lungangnae teh ka pholen telah Daniel ni a ratoum.
You, O God of my fathers, I am thanking and praising, for wisdom and might You have given to me; and now, You have caused me to know that which we have sought from You, for the king’s matter You have caused us to know.”
24 Hathnukkhu Babilon lungkaangnaw thei hanlah a patoun e Ariok koe a cei teh, Babilon tami lungkaangnaw hah thet hanh. Kai hah siangpahrang koe na thak haw. Kai ni mang hoi deingainae hah ka pâpho pouh vainei atipouh.
Therefore Daniel has gone up to Arioch, whom the king has appointed to destroy the wise men of Babylon; he has gone, and thus has said to him, “You do not destroy the wise men of Babylon, bring me up before the king, and I show the interpretation to the king.”
25 Hat toteh, Ariok ni Daniel hah karanglah siangpahrang koe a hrawi teh, siangpahrang, nange mang hoi deingainae ka pâpho thai e tami Judahnaw man e thung dawk e buet touh ka hmu toe atipouh.
Then Arioch in haste has brought up Daniel before the king, and thus has said to him, “I have found a man of the sons of the expulsion of Judah, who makes known the interpretation to the king.”
26 Siangpahrang ni kai ni ka mang e mang hah dei vaiteh deingainae hah na pâpho thai han maw telah Belteshazzar tie Daniel hah a pacei navah,
The king has answered and said to Daniel, whose name [is] Belteshazzar, “Are you able to cause me to know the dream that I have seen, and its interpretation?”
27 Daniel ni siangpahrang, nang ni na pacei e hah a lungkaangnaw, camkathoumnaw, mitpaleikathoumnaw, hoi khueyuenaw ni pâpho thai mahoeh.
Daniel has answered before the king and said, “The secret that the king is asking, the wise men, the enchanters, the scribes, the soothsayers, are not able to show to the king;
28 Hro e naw ka pâpho niteh, ato hmalah ka tho hane naw siangpahrang nang koe ka dei pouh e Cathut buet touh duengdoeh kalvan vah kaawm.
but there is a God in the heavens, a revealer of secrets, and He has made known to King Nebuchadnezzar that which [is] to be in the latter end of the days. Your dream and the visions of your head on your bed are these:
29 Oe siangpahrang, na i navah ato hmalah ka tho hane naw hah na pouk. Hro e naw kapâphokung Cathut ni ato hmalah ka tho hane naw hah nang koe na patue.
You, O king, your thoughts on your bed have come up [concerning] that which [is] to be after this, and the Revealer of secrets has caused you to know that which [is] to be.
30 Hete hro e hno hah, kai teh alouke moithangnaw hlak hoe ka lungang dawkvah kai koe a pâpho e nahoeh. Nang ni na lungthung na pouk e naw hah na panue thai nahanlah doeh deingainae naw hah Cathut ni na pâpho pouh.
As for me—not for [any] wisdom that is in me above any living has this secret been revealed to me; but for the intent that the interpretation to the king they make known, and the thoughts of your heart you know.
31 Siangpahrang, na i lahun nah na mang e vision teh, na khet navah meikaphawk hah na hmu. Athakaawme lah ao. Hote meikaphawk teh, taki ka tho e meilam hoi na hmalah a kâpâhung.
You, O king, were looking, and behold, a certain great image. This image [is] mighty, and its brightness excellent; it is standing before you, and its appearance [is] terrible.
32 A lû teh sui, a lungtabue hoi a kut roi teh ngun lah ao.
This image! Its head [is] of fine gold, its breasts and its arms of silver, its belly and its thighs of bronze;
33 A von hoi a phai roi teh, rahum lah ao. A khok buembue roi teh sum lah ao. Khoktabei hoi khoksampha teh sum atangawn amhru atangawn lah ao.
its legs of iron, its feet, part of them of iron, and part of them of clay.
34 Nang ni na khet lahun nah, kut hoi sak hoeh e amahmawk kaawm e talung buet touh ni, meikaphawk e khok sum tangawn amhru tangawn e koe a ten torei teh,
You were looking until a stone has been cut out without hands, and it has struck the image on its feet, that [are] of iron and of clay, and it has broken them small;
35 sum, amhru, rahum, ngun, sui naw teh, reppasei lah ao. Kawmpoi vah, cangkatinnae koe e vaiphu patetlah ao nahan awm laipalah, kahlî ni a palek teh a kahma. Meikaphawk ka ten e talung a roung teh, kalenpounge mon lah a coung. Talaivan pueng koung a ramuk telah mang na sak.
then broken small together have been the iron, the clay, the bronze, the silver, and the gold, and they have been as chaff from the summer threshing-floor, and the wind has carried them away, and no place has been found for them: and the stone that struck the image has become a great mountain, and has filled all the land.
36 Atuvah, mang ni deingainae na dei pouh vai.
This [is] the dream, and its interpretation we tell before the king.
37 Siangpahrang, nang teh siangpahrangnaw e siangpahrang lah na o. Kalvan Cathut ni uknaeram, thasainae, hoi bawilennae na poe toe.
You, O king, are a king of kings, for the God of the heavens a kingdom, strength, and might, and glory, has given to you;
38 Tami khosaknae hmuen pueng koe, saringnaw hoi kahlun e tavanaw pueng na kut dawk poe lah ao teh, abuemlahoi uknae kâ na tawn. Nang teh, meikaphawk e suilû lah na o.
and wherever sons of men are dwelling, the beast of the field, and the bird of the heavens, He has given into your hand, and has caused you to rule over them all; you [are] this head of gold.
39 Nang hnukkhu lah, nang patetlah kalen hoeh e alouke uknaeram a tâco han. Hathnukkhu talai van pueng ka uk hane apâthum e rahum ram a tâco han.
And after you another kingdom arises lower than those, and another third kingdom of bronze, that rules over all the earth.
40 Apalinae uknaeram teh, sum patetlah kate e lah ao han. Sum teh alouke hno pueng a raphoe thai e patetlah apalinae ram ni raphoe vaiteh, a rektap han.
And the fourth kingdom is strong as iron, because that iron is breaking small, and making feeble, all [things], even as iron that is breaking all these, it beats small and breaks.
41 Kutsak e khoktabei hoi khoksamphanaw teh, sum tangawn amhru tangawn lah ao e hah na hmu e patetlah, buet touh hoi buet touh kâtaran e uknaeram lah ao han. Hatei, amhru pâeng e hoi sum kalawt e na hmu e patetlah sum teh a tê han.
As for that which you have seen: the feet and toes, part of them potter’s clay, and part of them iron, the kingdom is divided: and some of the standing of the iron [is] to be in it, because that you have seen the iron mixed with miry clay.
42 Khokcareinaw teh sum tangawn amhru tangawn lah ao e na hmu e patetlah, uknaeram atangawn teh a tê han, atangawn teh a rawk a yawi han.
As for the toes of the feet, part of them iron, and part of them clay: some part of the kingdom is strong, and some part of it is brittle.
43 Amhru pâeng e hoi sum kalawt e hah na hmu e patetlah khocanaw teh ram alouknaw hoi a kâkalawt awh han. Hatei, amhru hoi sum a kâkalawt thai hoeh e patetlah buet touh hoi buet touh kâpo thai mahoeh.
Because you have seen iron mixed with miry clay, they are mixing themselves with the seed of men: and they are not adhering with one another, even as iron is not mixed with clay.
44 Kut hoi sak hoeh e talung buet touh ni mon hoi amahmawk a kamlei teh, sum, rahum, ngun, sui, amhrunaw hah reppasei lah a ten e na hmu e hateh, rawknae koe ka phat thai hoeh e, hote bawinae tueng nah kalvan Cathut ni uknaeram a kangdue sak han. Hote teh Jentelnaw e kut dawk phat toung laipalah, ahmaloe dei tangcoung e ram pueng hah raphoe vaiteh, a yungyoe a cak han.
And in the days of these kings the God of the heavens raises up a kingdom that is not destroyed for all time, and its kingdom is not left to another people: it beats small and ends all these kingdoms, and it stands for all time.
45 Hottelah, ato hmalah ka tho hane hnonaw hah ka lentoe poung e Cathut ni siangpahrang nang koe a dei e doeh. Nange mang teh, katang e doeh. Deicainae hai kahman e doeh telah Daniel ni a dei pouh.
Because that you have seen that out of the mountain a stone has been cut without hands, and it has beaten the iron small, the bronze, the clay, the silver, and the gold; the great God has made known to the king that which [is] to be after this; and the dream [is] true, and its interpretation steadfast.”
46 Hattoteh siangpahrang ni Daniel hmalah a tabo teh barinae a poe. Hmuitui hmaisawi hane hoi pasoumhno pasoung hanelah kâ a poe hnukkhu,
Then King Nebuchadnezzar has fallen on his face, and to Daniel he has done homage, and present, and sweet things, he has said to pour out to him.
47 nang ni hete hrolawk hah na pâpho thai dawkvah, atangcalah nange Cathut teh, cathutnaw e Cathut, siangpahrangnaw e Bawi, hrolawk ka pâpho thai e Bawipa doeh telah a ti.
The king has answered Daniel and said, “Of a truth [it is] that your God is a God of gods, and a Lord of kings, and a revealer of secrets, since you have been able to reveal this secret.”
48 Hat toteh, Daniel hah thaw a luen sak teh, hnopai moikapap a poe hnukkhu, Babilon ram dawk bawi lah thoseh, Babilon lungkaangnaw kaukkung bawi lah a ta.
Then the king has made Daniel great, and many great gifts he has given to him, and has caused him to rule over all the province of Babylon, and chief of the prefects over all the wise men of Babylon.
49 Hat toteh, Daniel ni a kâhei e patetlah siangpahrang ni, Shadrak, Meshak, hoi Abednego tinaw hah Babilon ram thung thaw katawkkung lah a ta. Hatei, Daniel teh siangpahrang im vah a tahung.
And Daniel has sought from the king, and he has appointed over the work of the province of Babylon, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego, and Daniel [is] in the gate of the king.
