2 Samuel 23

And these [are] the last words of David: “A declaration of David son of Jesse, And a declaration of the man raised up—Concerning the anointed of the God of Jacob, And the sweetness of the songs of Israel:
2 BAWIPA e Muitha ni kai hno lahoi a dei. A lawk teh ka lai dawk ao.
The Spirit of YHWH has spoken by me, And His word [is] on my tongue.
3 Isarel Cathut Isarel lungsong ni, kai koevah a dei. Taminaw kaukkung teh, a lan roeroe vaiteh, Cathut taki nalaihoi a uk han.
He said—the God of Israel—to me, He spoke—the Rock of Israel: He who is ruling over man [is] righteous, He is ruling in the fear of God.
4 Khopâui hoeh, kanî ka tâcawt e amom e angnae patetlah thoseh, khorak hnukkhu, kanî a tâco teh talai dawk hoi phokahring ka cawn e patetlah thoseh ao han.
And he rises as the light of morning, A morning sun [with] no clouds! By the shining, by the rain, Tender grass of the earth!
5 Ka imthung teh Cathut hoeh laipalah nakunghai, a yungyoe lawkkamnae kai hoi ka sak roi toe. Hote lawkkam teh tangka kuep hoeh nakunghai, kaie rungngangnae hoi kai ni ka ngainae lah ao.
For though my house [is] not so with God; So He made a perpetual covenant with me, Arranged in all things, and kept; For all my salvation, and all desire, For He has not caused [it] to spring up.
6 Kai cungkeihoehe taminaw teh, tâkhawng e pâkhig patetlah ao. Bangkongtetpawiteh kut hoi la thai lah awm hoeh.
As for the worthless—All of them [are] driven away as a thorn, For they are not taken away by hand;
7 Ka tek e tami ni sum hoi tahroe hah hno han a ngai. Hahoi teh, amamae hmuen dawk hmai hoi koung sawi lah ao han telah na pato a ti.
And the man who comes against them Is filled with iron and the staff of a spear, And they are utterly burned with fire In the cessation.”
8 Hetnaw heh Devit e athakaawme taminaw doeh. Takhemon tami Joshebbashebeth teh ransa kacuenaw thung dawk kacuepoung e lah ao. Ahni teh tahroe hah a sin teh, tami 800 touh vaitalahoi a thei.
These [are] the names of the mighty ones whom David has: sitting in the seat [is] the Tachmonite, head of the captains—he [is] Adino, who hardened himself against eight hundred—wounded at one time.
9 Ahni hnuk vah, Aho capa Dodo, Dodo capa Eleazar doeh. Ahni teh taran ka tuk hanelah kamkhueng e Filistinnaw hoi a kâtâ awh lahun hah, Isarelnaw koung a yawng navah, Devit koe e athakaawme taminaw kathum touh thung dawk e buet touh lah ao.
And after him [is] Eleazar son of Dodo, son of Ahohi, of the three mighty men with David; in their exposing themselves among the Philistines—they have been gathered there to battle, and the men of Israel go up—
10 Ahni teh a thaw teh, Filistinnaw koe a kut a pho teh a kut nget a tawn totouh Filistinnaw hah a bouk. Hot hnin vah BAWIPA ni lentoenae lahoi a tâ pouh. Ahnimanaw teh tarannaw e hnopai hah a la hanelah doeh a ban awh toe.
he has arisen, and strikes among the Philistines until his hand has been weary, and his hand cleaves to the sword, and YHWH works a great salvation on that day, and the people turn back after him only to strip off.
11 Ahni hnuk vah, Hararite tami Agee capa Shammah doeh. Baphoungkung a thanae hmuen koe Filistinnaw a kamkhueng awh teh, taminaw ni Filistinnaw a yawng takhai awh.
And after him [is] Shammah son of Agee the Hararite, and the Philistines are gathered into a company, and there is a portion of the field full of lentils there, and the people have fled from the presence of the Philistines,
12 Ahni teh hote hmuen koe a kangdue teh a ring. Filistin tami hah a thei teh, BAWIPA ni kalenpounge tânae a poe.
and he stations himself in the midst of the portion, and delivers it, and strikes the Philistines, and YHWH works a great salvation.
13 Ransa tarankahawi e thung dawk 30 touh a cathuk awh teh, canganae tueng dawk, Devit aonae koe Adullam talungkhu dawk a cei awh teh, Filistin ransanaw teh Rephaim yawn dawk a tungpup awh.
And three of the thirty heads go down and come to the harvest, to David, to the cave of Adullam, and the company of the Philistines are encamping in the Valley of Rephaim,
14 Hatnae tueng navah, Devit teh rapan dawk ao teh, Filistinnaw teh Bethlehem kho vah ao awh.
and David [is] then in a fortress, and the station of the Philistines [is] then in Beth-Lehem,
15 Devit ni dik a doun nalaihoi Bethlehem e tuikhu tui rapan teng e hah nei hane na kapoekung awm haw pawiteh aw telah a ti.
and David longs and says, “Who gives me a drink of the water of the well of Beth-Lehem, which [is] by the gate?”
16 Athakaawme taminaw kathum touh ni Filistin ransahu pat a raka teh rapan teng e Bethlehem kho e tuikhu tui hah a do awh. Devit koe a ceikhai awh teh, ahni ni net ngai hoeh. BAWIPA e hmaitung vah a rabawk.
And the three mighty ones cleave through the camp of the Philistines, and draw water out of the well of Beth-Lehem, which [is] by the gate, and take [it] up, and bring [it] to David; and he was not willing to drink it, and pours it out to YHWH,
17 Oe BAWIPA hete tui heh kai ni ka net mahoeh. Due hane hai taket laipalah kacetnaw e thi phu hah ka nei han namaw, telah ati. Net laipalah ao. Athakaawme taminaw kathum touh e ni a sak awh e doeh.
and says, “Far be it from me, O YHWH, to do this; is it the blood of the men who are going with their lives?” And he was not willing to drink it; the three mighty ones did these [things].
18 Zeruiah capa Joab e a hmaunawngha Abshai teh kathum touh thung dawk kacuepoung lah ao. A tahroe hoi tami 300 touh a thei dawkvah, kathum touh thung dawk minhawinae a hmu.
And Abishai brother of Joab, son of Zeruiah, he [is] head of three, and he is lifting up his spear against three hundred—wounded, and he has a name among three.
19 Kathum touh thung dawkvah, oup hane nahoehmaw. Hatdawkvah, kacue e lah ao. Hateiteh, a hmaloe e tarankahawi e ransanaw phat hoeh.
Is he not the honored of the three? And he becomes their head; and he has not come to the [first] three.
20 Kebzeel tami tarankahawi capa Jehoiada capa Binaiah ni thaonae hno moikapap a sak. Moab tami a min kamthang sendek patet e tami kahni touh a thei. Kasik thapa dawk hai alouk lae lungngoum thung kaawm e sendek hah a thei.
And Benaiah son of Jehoiada (son of a man of valor, great in deeds from Kabzeel), has struck two lion-like men of Moab, and he has gone down and struck the lion in the midst of the pit in a day of snow.
21 Tami kalenpounge Izip tami hah a thei. Izip tami ni tahroe a sin eiteh, Benaiah ni sonron dueng hah a sin teh, a cei. Izip tami e a kut dawk e tahroe a lawp teh hot e tahroe hoi ama hah a thei.
And he has struck the Egyptian man, a man of appearance, and a spear [is] in the hand of the Egyptian, and he goes down to him with a rod, and takes the spear violently away out of the hand of the Egyptian, and slays him with his own spear.
22 Jehoiada capa Benaiah niteh, hot patet lae hno hah a sak dawkvah, athakaawme taminaw kathum touh thung dawk minhawinae a hmu.
Benaiah son of Jehoiada has done these [things], and has a name among the three mighty ones.
23 Tami 30 touh hlak bari hane kawi lah ao. Hateiteh, ahmaloe e kathum touh phat hoeh. Devit ni ama karingkungnaw e kacue lah a hruek.
He is honored more than the thirty, but he did not come to the three; and David sets him over his guard.
24 Joab e nawngha Ashahel teh, tami 30 touh thung dawk buet touh lah ao. Bethlehem kho e Dodo capa Elhanan,
Asahel brother of Joab [is] of the thirty; Elhanan son of Dodo of Beth-Lehem,
25 Harod tami Shammah, Harod tami Elika,
Shammah the Harodite, Elika the Harodite,
26 Palti tami Helez hoi Tekoa tami Ikkesh capa Ira,
Helez the Paltite, Ira son of Ikkesh the Tekoite,
27 Anathoth tami Abiezer hoi Khushathi tami Mebunnai,
Abiezer the Annethothite, Mebunnai the Hushathite,
28 Aho tami Zalmon hoi Netophah tami Maharai,
Zalmon the Ahohite, Maharai the Netophathite,
29 Netophah tami Baanah capa Heleb, Benjamin casaknaw Gibeah tami Ribai capa Ittai,
Heleb son of Baanah the Netophathite, Ittai son of Ribai from Gibeah of the sons of Benjamin,
30 Pirathon capa Benaiah, Gaash yawn dawk e Hiddai,
Benaiah the Pirathonite, Hiddai of the brooks of Gaash,
31 Arbath tami Abialbon hoi Barhum tami Azmaveth,
Abi-Albon the Arbathite, Azmaveth the Barhumite,
32 Shaalbon tami Eliahba hoi Jashen casaknaw thung dawk e Jonathan,
Eliahba the Shaalbonite, of the sons of Jashen, Jonathan,
33 Hararite tami Shammah, Hararite tami Sharar capa Ahiam,
Shammah the Hararite, Ahiam son of Sharar the Hararite,
34 Maakath casak Ahasbai capa Eliphelet, Giloh tami Ahithophel capa Eliam,
Eliphelet son of Ahasbai, son of the Maachathite, Eliam son of Ahithophel the Gilonite,
35 Karmel tami Hezro hoi Arab tami Paarai,
Hezrai the Carmelite, Paarai the Arbite,
36 Zobah tami Nathan capa Igal, Gad tami Bani,
Igal son of Nathan from Zobah, Bani the Gadite,
37 Ammon tami Zelek, Zeruiah capa Joab e senehmaica kaphawtkung Beeroth tami Naharai,
Zelek the Ammonite, Naharai the Beerothite, bearer of the weapons of Joab son of Zeruiah,
38 Ithrite tami Ira hoi Ithrite tami Gareb,
Ira the Ithrite, Gareb the Ithrite,
39 Hit tami Uriah, abuemlahoi 37 touh a pha awh.
Uriah the Hittite: thirty-seven in all.
