< Job 38 >

1 Chuti chun chimpei kipei lah a konin Pakaiyin Job chu ahin donbut tai:
Then spake Jehovah to Job out of the whirlwind, and said:
2 Koi hiya hitobang hetna neilou chu chenga kachihna thu hin donga chu?
Who is this that darkeneth counsel by words without knowledge?
3 Pasal pha bangin nakong kigah in, ijeh inem itile keiman nangma thu kadoh ding nangin hiche ho chu nei donbut ding ahi.
Gird up thy loins like a man! I will ask thee, and answer thou me!
4 Leiset bul kaphu a chu hoiya nana um'em? Nahet leh nei seipeh in.
Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? Declare, if thou hast understanding!
5 Kon alet aneu dan aga te a chuleh ageigol hohi akaitoh ham?
Who fixed its dimensions, that thou shouldst know it! Or who stretched out the line upon it?
6 Abul hi ipin atheh ham? Aninga songpi chu koi koiham?
Upon what were its foundations fixed? And who laid its corner-stone,
7 Jingvalpa ten la asahkhom uva chuleh vantil jouse kipah a hung pengdoh diu ham?
When the morning stars sang together, And all the sons of God shouted for joy?
8 Naobu sunga hung pengdoh banga twipihi gamgi chin kah khat sunga kon akoija?
And who shut up the sea with doors, When it burst forth as from the womb?
9 Chuleh meibol ponsilla kakisil a chuleh muthim lhangkhal a kakitoma,
When I made the clouds its mantle, And thick darkness its swaddling-band;
10 Ajeh chu vapam kasem peh a, anunga kotpi akhel louna dinga kakam khum ahi.
When I appointed for it my bound, And fixed for it bars and doors;
11 Hichan a gamla chule hisanga gamlajo a nahung louna dinga hiche mun a hi kiloupi sah tah a nakinon nangah ding ahi tin kaseije.
And said, Thus far shalt thou come, and no farther, And here shall thy proud waves be stayed!
12 Jingkah khovah nadinga thu napeh khah a khovah jong solama konna hung kipan dinga nahil khah em?
Hast thou, in thy life, given charge to the morning, Or caused the day-spring to know its place,
13 Khovah hin leiset kolmang geija asalvah nadinga nasema, gitlouna jan muthim changei bou vah dinga nasem khah em?
That it should lay hold of the ends of the earth, And shake the wicked out of it?
14 Khovah ahung nai tengle leingan chunga mahor kinam bangin leiset jong agong ahung kilang doh jitai.
It is changed as clay by the seal; And all things stand forth as in rich apparel.
15 Khovah hin migiloute asunoh phah in chuleh kihat sah tah a kidom sang ban lhang jong asuhai tai.
But from the wicked their light is withheld, And the high-raised arm is broken.
16 Twipi hung lon doh patna twinah phung nagahol doh khah a hem? athuh dan nakhol doh khah hitam?
Hast thou visited the springs of the sea, And walked through the recesses of the deep?
17 Thina kelkot hoiya um'em ti nahet khah ta hem? Muthim lhangkhal kihehna kelkot namu khah ta hem?
Have the gates of death been disclosed to thee, And hast thou seen the gates of the shadow of death?
18 Leiset letdan nagel doh khah a hicheng chu nahet leh nei seipeh in.
Hast thou surveyed the breadth of the earth? Declare, if thou knowest it all!
19 Khovah hoiya konna hung kipan doh ham? Chuleh muthim hoilanga cheji hitam?
Where is the way to the abode of light? And darkness—where is its dwelling-place?
20 Khat cheng chenga a in na napuilut theija chuleh amun lhunje chu nahet em?
That thou shouldst lead it to its boundary, And that thou shouldst know the paths to its mansion!
21 Ahinlah hicheng chu nahet maithei ahi, ijeh inem itile thil ijakai kisem masanga penga nahi tan, hijeh a chu ijakai nahet themsoh ahitai.
Surely thou knowest; for thou wast then born! And the number of thy years is great!
22 Buhbang kikhol khomna mun naga chelut khah ta hem? ahiloule gelchang kikhol khomna mun naga mu khah ta hem?
Hast thou visited the storehouses of the snow, Or seen the treasuries of the hail,
23 Genthei hesoh nikho a gal manchah dinga kakhol ahin, kidou nikho leh kisat nikho a dinga kakhol khom ahi.
Which I have reserved against the time of trouble, —Against the day of battle and war?
24 Khovah hung kondohna lampi chu hoilai hija, solam hui chenna chu hoilai ham?
What is the way to where light is distributed, And the east wind spread abroad upon the earth?
25 Go hattah a hung long jung jung twilam chu kon asemma kolphevahna lampi kon adopeh ham?
Who hath prepared channels for the rain, And a path for the thunder-flash,
26 Hampa ke louna gamgo lah leh nelgam mihem chenlouna gam'a chu kon go ajuhsah ham?
To give rain to the land without an inhabitant, To the wilderness wherein is no man;
27 Tolgo lah sunouva dangchim sah dinga go juh sah chu koi hija chule hampa louhing kedohsah a koiham?
To satisfy the desolate and waste ground, And cause the tender herb to spring forth?
28 Go in pa aneijem? Daitwi kon ahin pen doh sah ham?
Hath the rain a father? Or who hath begotten the drops of the dew?
29 Buhbang lhang hingnu chu koiham? Vanna hung kon buhbang twihi kon ahin ham?
Out of whose womb came the ice? And who hath gendered the hoar-frost of heaven?
30 Ijeh inem itile twi chu song banga tah in akisoh jin chuleh twi chung chu akan den jin ahi.
The waters are hid as under stone, And the face of the deep becometh solid.
31 Ahshi ho kitol ding dan khu nahil theija bombiel akoi ho khu alomma nakan theija, ahiloule juhei suhtum khu akhau nalhap kang thei ngaijem?
Canst thou fasten the bands of the Pleiades, Or loosen the chains of Orion?

Canst thou lead forth the Signs in their season, Or guide the Bear with her sons?
33 Thilsem jouse chondan hi nahet soh keija, leiset hi dan dungjuija naman chah thei ding ham?
Knowest thou the ordinances of the heavens? Hast thou appointed their dominion over the earth?
34 Meibang lom chu nakouva chule go nasosah theijem?
Canst thou lift up thy voice to the clouds, So that abundance of waters will cover thee?
35 Kolphe chu nakilah sah theija chule naseina mun chu navah sah thei ding ham?
Canst thou send forth lightnings, so that they will go, And say to thee, “Here we are”?
36 Lungchang thil het jeng theina pea chu koi hija chule lungthim angaina a khohetna pe a chu koiham?
Who hath put understanding in the reins, And given intelligence to the mind?
37 Meilhang ho sim jouna dinga chihna lhingsetna neikoi hija, vanna twi kikholna mun loukhoija khoilet jou ding koiham?
Who numbereth the clouds in wisdom? And who poureth out the bottles of heaven,
38 Tolla leiset hi akikoi got setna chule leiset chu leilhanga atahsah thei ding ham?
When the dust floweth into a molten mass, And the clods cleave fast together?
39 Keipi dinga neh ding namat khom peh a chule keipi bahkai noute gilkel chu alung nachim a navahva jouva,
Canst thou hunt prey for the lioness, Or satisfy the hunger of the young lions,
40 Akosung uva alupnauva ahiloule nang noija abohmat pet tengule,
When they couch in their dens, And lie in wait in the thicket?
41 Vavomte khu kon an apeh a anoute khu Pathen jah dinga apenna chule gilkella amoh toilele tenguleh kon an apeh jiu ham?
Who provideth for the raven his food, When his young ones cry unto God, While they wander about without food?
