< Jeremiah 50 >
1 Chaldea gam Babylon thudol, Pakaiyin Jeremiah themgao henga hiti hin thu aseiyin ahi.
The word that the Lord spoke concerning Babylon, concerning the land of the Chaldeans, by means of Jeremiah the prophet.
2 “Namtin chunga phongjal un seichoi jun, ponlap khaisang un chule akisel guh beijin samphong un; ajeh chu Babylon chu akijousoh hel in, Bel in jumna atoh in chule Marduk alung lhada lheh jeng tai. Khopi sung milim semthu ho abonchan akithe cheh gamtan, pathen lim semthu jouse jong pannabei asohgam tai,” tin seiyun.
Announce ye among the nations, and publish, and lift up a standard; publish, conceal not; say, Babylon is captured, Bel is put to shame, Merodach is broken in pieces; put to shame are her idols; broken in pieces are her images.
3 “Ijeh-inem itileh khopi toh kidou din sahlam gamkaiya pat nam mite khat ahung tauvin, hiche nam mite chun agam sung pumpi asuh manghel diu; avel’a koima kilah kit talou ding ahi. Chule mihem ahin, gamsa jeng jong anitah a jam mang ding ahi.”
For there is come up against her a nation out of the north, which will change her land into a desert, so that there shall not be any one dwelling therein: both man and beast are fled away, they are departed.
4 Pakaiyin hiti hin aseiye, “Hiche nikho leh phatlai hin Israel chate ahin, Judah chate in lam jon’a hung kile diu ahi. Kap pum pum’a hung diu, Pakai Pathen ahin hol diu ahi.”
In those days, and at that time, saith the Lord, shall the children of Israel come, they and the children of Judah together, going and weeping shall they go, and the Lord their God shall they seek.
5 Chuteng amahon Zion jotna lampi mi ahin doh diu, hiche lam chu ahin ngaidiu, “Hung un a-itih a isuhmil lou diu le atonsot’a kinepna chu Pakai henga eima cheh’in kitepna sem u-hite,” tia asei diu ahi.
After Zion shall they ask, with their faces on the way thitherward, [saying, ] Come: and they will join themselves to the Lord in a perpetual covenant that shall not be forgotten.
6 “Chule keima mite chu kelngoi vah-mangsa ahiuve, kelngoi chin’a ching hochun amaho ana puimang gam tauvin ahi. Molchung holah’a ana hoidoh un, molchunga pat’in thinglhang lam jon in acheu vin, hiti chun abitnau asumil gam-tauve.”
Lost sheep were my people; their shepherds had caused them to go astray, they had let them roam wildly on the mountains: from mountain to hill did they go, they forgot their resting-place.
7 Chuin amaho toh-kha chan chun asugep hel ji tauvin, amaho douva pang hon jong aseiyun, “Eiho themmona aum poi, ijeh-inem itileh a-Pakaiyu, achennau dihtah Pakai, apu apateu khanga pat akinep nau dounan chonset abol’un ahi,” atiuve.
All that found them devoured them; and their adversaries said, We offend not, because they have sinned against the Lord, the habitation of righteousness, and the hope of their fathers, the Lord.
8 “Hijeh chun Babylon khopi sunga kon’in jamdoh tauvin, chule Chaldea mite henga kon’in chedoh tauvin; kelngoi hon lah’a kelchal ho tobang'in um uvin.
Fly away out of the midst of Babylon, and go forth out of the land of the Chaldeans, and be ye as the he-goats before the flocks.
9 Ajeh chu keiman Babylon dounan sahlam gamkaiya pat’in nam gim neitah khat kahin sol luttai, amaho hiche khopi douna dinga chu hung kigong diu, chuteng akhopi alah diu ahi. Athal chang’u jong khutgoh keuva kile lou gal-hang tah jeng ahiuve.
For, lo, I will awaken and cause to come up against Babylon an assemblage of great nations from the north country; and they shall set themselves in battle-array against her; from there shall she be captured: their arrows are as those of a skilful mighty one, none of which ever returneth in vain.
10 Pakaiyin, “Chaldea mite jong abonchauva kiman soh keiya, chuteng amaho mangam’a pangho haodoh soh kei diu ahi,” tin aseiye.
And Chaldea shall be given up to spoil: all that spoil her shall be satisfied, saith the Lord.
11 “Chule nangho nakipa diu naki choisang diu ahi. Hinlah kagoulo ho mangam’a pang holeh hamhing lah’a chom lele ho; sakol til-lah lou tobang'in peng peng jong leu chun,
Though ye rejoice, though ye be glad, O ye plunderers of my heritage, though ye be grown fat as the heifer at grass, and neigh as stud-horses:
12 na chunnu uchun gimnei tah’a jumna ato ding, nahing nu uchu vetdana chang tei ding ahitai. Ven, hiche nu hi nam jouse lah’a anu-khah pen’a pang ding; gamthip lah’a neldi gam tobangbep hiding ahi.
Your mother is made greatly ashamed; she that bore you is put to the blush; behold, the end of nations shall be wilderness, dry land, and desert.
13 Ajeh chu Pakai lunghanna jeh’a hiche mun chu chenna soh talou ding, imacha umlou akeo hiding; Babylon jon jouse dinga kichat tijatna hita ding, akhopi sung kisuhsetna jouse kidah soh ding ahi.
Because of the wrath of the Lord shall it not be inhabited, and it shall be wholly desolate: every one that passeth by Babylon shall be astonished, and hiss over all her wounds.
14 Hijeh chun Babylon khopi sat dinga kigo jouse, thalpi kamsa kichoi jouse kivon cheh un chule umkimvel tauvin; ijeh-inem itileh hiche khopi hi Pakai doumah bol’in achonse lheh jeng tai.
Put yourselves in battle-array against Babylon round about, all ye that bend the bow, shoot at her, spare not the arrows: for against the Lord hath she sinned.
15 Khopi kimvel’a lhangsam cheh’un, khopi ama chamtah in alhu pan tan; pal kikai jouse jong achimsoh in, pal jouse akisuchim soh heltan ahi. Ajeh chu hitobang thilsoh hi Pakai phulah ahin, hiche khopi chunga hi phu-alah ahitai. Khopi ana chonna banga achunga abol tauvin ahi.
Shout against her round about; she hath stretched out her hand: fallen are her foundations, thrown down are her walls; for it is the vengeance of the Lord; take vengeance upon her; as she hath done, so do unto her.
16 Chule Babylon khopia muchi tua pangpa chu that uvin, chang-at laiya koite kichoipa jong that uvin, mi sugentheija pang chemjam hem choipa jal chun, mijouse amite lam’a chekit ding ahi; chule min ama ama gamsung cheh adel’a jam lut cheh ding ahi.
Cut off the sower from Babylon, and him that handleth the sickle in the time of harvest; because of the wasting sword shall they turn about every one to his people, and every one to his own land shall they flee.
17 Ijeh-inem itileh “Israel chu kelngoi kidel jam banga, keipi bahkai ten adel mangsa ahibouve. Amasa chun Assyria lengpan ana man tauvin, chule tunvang Babylon lengpa Nebuchadnezzar in agu achang geiyin asuhchip peh tan ahi.”
A scattered lamb is Israel; the lions have driven him away: first the king of Assyria devoured him; and this last one broke his bones, [even] Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon.
18 Hatchungnung Pakai, Israel Pathen in, “Ven, Keiman Assyria lengpa chunga gimna kapeh bang in, Babylon lengpa chunga jong gimna kalhunsah in ahi,” ati.
Therefore thus hath said the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, Behold, I will inflict punishment on the king of Babylon and on his land, as I have punished the king of Assyria.
19 “Chule keiman Israel chu ama in leh gamsunga kahin lepui ding, Carmel le Bashan a kivah vadiu; chuteng Ephraim le Gilead thinglhang gam sunga avel’a kivahva diu ahi.
And I will bring Israel back again to his habitation, and he shall feed on Carmel and Bashan: and upon the mountain of Ephraim and Gil'ad shall his soul be satisfied.
20 Hiche nikho tengleh chun, Israel sunga themmona kikhol ding, ahivanga kikholdoh deh deh lou ding; chule Judah sunga jong chonsetna kikhol ding, ahivanga khatcha kikhol doh louhel ding ahi. Ajeh chu keiman amoh chengse avaldoh ho chunga ngaidamna kanei ahitai.
In those days, and at that time, saith the Lord, shall the iniquity of Israel be sought for, and it shall not be there; and the sins of Judah, and they shall not be found; for I will pardon those whom I will leave remaining.
21 “Kagal hang ho, Merathaim le Pekod dounan agam sunga chetou tauvin; abonchauvin that gam uvin chule sumang hel uvin, tin Pakaiyin aseiyin hiche hi keima thupeh ahi.
Against the land of twofold rebellion—even against it go thou up, and against the inhabitants of the country of punishment: lay in ruins and utterly destroy their offspring, saith the Lord, and do in accordance with all that I have commanded thee.
22 Gamsung pumpia gal kisat ogin akijan, manthahna ogin gimneitah chu akithong lha jeng tai!
A sound of battle [is heard] in the land, and of great destruction.
23 I-atileh leiset pumpi khetbuh’a pang Babylon kisat lhua kichil thang jeng hitam! Itidan’a Babylon hi nam jouse lah’a kidah chang jeng hitam!
How is cut asunder and broken the hammer of all the earth! how is Babylon become an astonishment among the nations!
24 O Babylon, thang kakampeh achun na oh-tai; hinlah naki hetdoh hih laiye, nangma holdoh in naum in nakiman chah kheh tai; ajeh chu Pakai dounan nachonval tai.
I have laid a snare for thee, and thou art also captured, O Babylon, while thou wast not aware: thou art found, and also caught, because thou hadst entered into a contest against the Lord.
25 Chuin Pakaiyin agal manchah koina ahong doh in, alunghanna machah jouse ahin podoh tai; ijeh-inem itileh Pakai hatchungnung Pathen in Chaldea mite gam sunga natoh ding khat aneiye.
The Lord hath opened his treasury, and hath brought forth the weapons of his indignation; for it is a work for the Lord, the Eternal of hosts, in the land of the Chaldeans.
26 Henge, gam kimvel’a kon in hiche gam toh kidou din hung kon tauvin; achangsal jouse hong un, chang kisi vum tobang'in sivum unlang manthah sah jeng uvin, ama thi le lo ima kheng hih hel un.
Come against her from the end of the earth, open her garners; tread her down as sheaves of corn, and destroy her utterly: let there not be left of her a remnant even.
27 Abongchal jouse sat lih un, abonchan athina diumun jotsah cheh un; ada tangei-yuve, ijeh-inem itileh ahinkhou achaina ahung lhunge. Gimna atodiu phat chu hunglhung ahitai.
Destroy all her bullocks; let them go down to the slaughter: Woe unto them! for their day is come, the time of their visitation.
28 Miho ogin khu ngaiyin, Babylon gamsunga kon in Zion Pakai, i-Pathen uvin phu alah nakhu, ahouin dinga phu alahna phondohnan ajam cheh tauvin; atol manghel tauve.
There is the voice of those that flee and escape out of the land of Babylon, to tell in Zion the vengeance of the Lord our God, the vengeance for his temple.
29 Thalpi kamsaa kichoi holeh thal them ho abonchauvin Babylon toh kisat din koudoh tan. Hiche khopi kimvel’a khun ngahmun semsoh keiyun, mihem kiti khat jengcha jong naso chat sah louhel diu ahi. Khopi’n na atoh dungjuiya lethuhna nachan sah diu, anatoh athilbol banga amachunga jong nabol diu ahi; ajeh chu Pakai, Israel Mithengpa chu kisatpi ding in anachoudoh tai.
Call together the archers against Babylon; all ye that bend the bow, encamp against her round about; let there be no escape for her: recompense her according to her work; in accordance with all that she hath done, do unto her; for against the Lord hath she acted presumptuously, against the Holy One of Israel.
30 Hijeh chun Pakaiyin aseiyin, “Akhopi sunga gollhang ho kijam chap diu, chule hiche nikho mama’a hi akhopi sunga sepai jouse jong kisumang hel ding ahi.
therefore shall her young men fall in her streets, and all her men of war shall perish on that day, saith the Lord.
31 “Vetan, nangma kieltsahna dim keima toh kidou nahi, tin Pakai hatchungnung Pathen in aseiye; ijeh-inem itileh nangma nikho ahung lhung tai—hiche nikhoa hi keiman gimna kapeh ding nahi.
Behold, I am against thee, O presumptuous one! saith the Lord, the Eternal of hosts; for thy day is come, the time that I will visit thee [with punishment].
32 O gamsung kiletsahna dim, nangma nakipal lhuh a, naki balhuh tei ding, koima naphongdoh ding um tapon te. Keiman khopi pumpia mei kakousah ding, chuteng akimvel’a umjouse meikong in aliu-gamkei ding ahi.
And the presumptuous shall stumble and fall, with none to raise him up: and I will kindle a fire in his cities, and it shall devour all his environs.
33 Hatchungnung Pakaiyin hiti hin aseiye, “Israel mite leh Judah mite chunga gim le hesoh in akiumsah in, amaho soh chansah hon lahdoh ding gel phalou vin, naatuh chah jing uvin ahi.
Thus hath said the Lord of hosts, The children of Israel and the children of Judah are oppressed together: and all that took them captive hold them fast; they refuse to dismiss them.
34 Hinlah amaho lhatdampu chu athahat in, hatchungnung Pakai kiti hi ama min ahi. Amachun amaho khotona thudol ahinsei ding, chule Israel akichol damsah kit ding; amavang Babylon mite choldona apeh lou ding ahi.
Their Redeemer is strong; The Lord of hosts is his name: he will surely contend in their cause, in order that he may give rest to the land, and make the inhabitants of Babylon tremble.
35 Pakaiyin hiti hin aseiyin, “Chaldea mite, Babylon khopi sunga chengte, aleng chapate chule ami-chingte chunga gimna chemjam achuhsah tai.
The sword is upon the Chaldeans, saith the Lord, and against the inhabitants of Babylon, and against her princes, and against her wise men.
36 Ami-chingte, angolna diuvin achung'uva chemjam ahung chutan, akisuh manghel nadiuvin; akhopi sunga gal hang ho chunga chemjam achutan ahi!
The sword is against the lying soothsayers, and they shall be made foolish: the sword is against her mighty men, and they shall be dismayed.
37 Akhopi sunga sakol ho, akang-talai ho, chule akhopi dunga gamdang sepai hon jong numei lungput aputna diuvin, achung uvah chemjam achutai! Akisuh manghelna diuvin, khopi sunga thil khol khomna jouse chunga jong chemjam achutan ahi.
The sword is against their horses, and against their chariots, and against all the confederates that are in the midst of her, and they shall become as women: the sword is against her treasures, and they shall be plundered.
38 Akhopi sunga twi jouse akan-helna din go aju tapon, ajeh chu agam hi milim semthu gam jeng ahin, amaho jeng jong pathen lim semthua ngol ahitauve.
The drought is against her waters, and they shall be dried up; for it is the land of graven images, and with their horrid idols do they play the madman.
39 Hijeh’a chu Babylon khopi sunga hi chomlou kah’a gamsa holeh kamkei ho hung cheng lut diu, chule akhosung chu simbu ho chenna hung hi ding; akhopi sunga chu mihem kiti cheng kit talou ding, hichu akhang akhanga chenna hita lou ding ahi.
Therefore shall martens dwell [there] with jackals, and the ostriches shall dwell therein: and it shall be not inhabited any more for ever; and it shall not be dwelt in from generation to generation.
40 Sodom le Gomorrah banga akhopi sung leh akimvel’a khopi jouse kasuh manghel ding, hiche mun’a chu mihem koimacha hung cheng kit talou ding chule mihem koimacha akhosunga hung kholjin kitta louhel ding ahi, tin Pakaiyin aseiye.
Like the overthrow by God of Sodom and Gomorrah and their neighbors, saith the Lord, so shall no man dwell there, nor shall any son of man sojourn therein.
41 Vetan! Sahlam gamkaiya kon’in sepai hattah ahung kon tai. Nam hattah le leng tampi, gamlha tah’a kon’in ahung tauve.
Behold, a people cometh from the north, and a great nation, and many kings shall be awakened from the farthest ends of the earth.
42 Abonchauva thalpi le tengcha toh hungkon ahiuvin, gilou tah le hepina beihel jeng ahiuve. Agol gin dan’u jong twikhanglen gintoh akilou vin, abonchauva sakol chunga tou jeng ahiuve; Nangma Babylon dou dinga galvon lhingsel’a kivon soh ahitauve.
Bow and lance do they firmly grasp; they are cruel, and show not any mercy; their voice roareth like the sea, and upon horses do they ride, placed in array, like one man, for the battle, against thee, O daughter of Babylon.
43 Hiti chun, “Babylon lengpan jong athu kithan dol-u ajasoh tai! Akhut teni angoi lha jeng in, numei naoso natpat tobang'in gim hesohna chun ahin phatai.
The king of Babylon hath heard the report of them, and his hands are grown feeble: anguish hath taken fast hold of him, pangs as of a woman in travail.
44 Vetan! Keima Jordan gammang lah’a kon kelngoi hong umna nokhum dinga hung kon keipi bahkai banga, abonchauva akhopi sunga kon hetman louhel’a a kadel mang jeng ding, chujou tengleh keiman kadeisah dungjuiya khopi vaihom kakoi ding ahi. Ijeh-inem itileh keitobang koi um'em chule koiham keima eiki dinte pi ding? Koi vaihom thunei hijongleh kamasanga pang jou ding chu koi ham?
Behold, like a lion shall he come up from the overflow of the Jordan unto the strong habitation; for I will hasten them [and] make them suddenly prevail over her, and him who is chosen will I array against her; for who like me? and who will challenge me to battle? and who is that shepherd that can stand before me?
45 Hijeh chun Pakaiyin Babylon dounaa athil-gon hi phaten ngai phauvin, kelngoi hon lah’a aneopen geiya kaimanga um ding; achennau in jouse jong kisumang hel ding ahi.
Therefore hear ye the counsel of the Lord, that he hath resolved against Babylon; and his purposes, that he hath devised against the land of the Chaldeans: Surely the least of the flock shall drag them away; surely he will devastate over them their habitation.
46 Babylon kimat gin husan chu leiset pumpi o-thong jejua kithing liu ding, chule akagin chu vannoi leiset pumpia kithong lha ding ahi,” ati.
At the noise of the conquest of Babylon the earth quaketh, and the outcry is heard among the nations.
