< Jeremiah 23 >
1 Ohe ada nahiuve, kamite chunga vaihomte; Amahon kakelngoite athecheh un chule asumangun, agelkhoh pouve.
“Woe to the shepherds who destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture!” says the LORD.
2 Pakai Israel Pathen chun hitin aseiye, ‘Nanghon kamite nachingtup pouve, nathe cheh’un chule nadelmang gamtauve. Nathilse bol jeh uva, keiman nachung uva talen kamatsah diu nahiuve, tin Pakaiyin aseiye.
Therefore the LORD, the God of Israel, says against the shepherds who feed my people: “You have scattered my flock, driven them away, and have not visited them. Behold, I will visit on you the evil of your doings,” says the LORD.
3 Amavang, kamite ahingdoh amoh chengse chu, kathe chehna gamsung hoa kon’a kamite kachop khomding, amaho chu agamsung uva keiman kahin lepuikit diu ahi. Chule amaho phatthei chang uva, pung jal dingu ahiuve.
“I will gather the remnant of my flock out of all the countries where I have driven them, and will bring them again to their folds; and they will be fruitful and multiply.
4 Chutengle, amaho kelngoi chinbanga chingtup ding mikhat kalhenpih ding ahi. Hita chu kamiten kichat tijat atokit loudiu ahi, kei Pakaiyin kasei ahitai.
I will set up shepherds over them who will feed them. They will no longer be afraid or dismayed, neither will any be lacking,” says the LORD.
5 Pakaiyin aseiye, ‘David guiya kon’a chilhah theng khat katun doh nading nikho chu ahung lhung e. Ama chun chingthei tah’a lengvai ahin pohding, chule gamsung pumpia dihtah’a thil abol ding ahi.
“Behold, the days come,” says the LORD, “that I will raise to David a righteous Branch; and he will reign as king and deal wisely, and will execute justice and righteousness in the land.
6 Ama chu, ‘Pakai eiho themchanna pa kiti ding ahi. Hiche nikho chule, Judahte huhdoh’a umding, chule Israelte lungmonga khosa ding ahiuve.
In his days Judah will be saved, and Israel will dwell safely. This is his name by which he will be called: The LORD our righteousness.
7 ‘Phat ahunglhunge, mihon akihahsel teng ule, ‘Pakai hingjing, Israelte Egypt a kon’a hinpui dohpa ‘tia asei tahlou diu ahi,’ tin Pakaiyin aseiye.
“Therefore, behold, the days come,” says the LORD, “that they will no more say, ‘As the LORD lives, who brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt;’
8 Miho chun, ‘Pakai hingjing, Israelte athechehna gamho’a kon’a, chule sahlam gam’a kon’a. hinlepuikit pa,’tia kamin aseijoh diu ahi. Hitia chu amaho gamsunga cheng diu ahi,’ ati.
but, ‘As the LORD lives, who brought up and who led the offspring of the house of Israel out of the north country, and from all the countries where I had driven them.’ Then they will dwell in their own land.”
9 Thujou jeng sei themgao lhemho jallin, kalung ana behseh in, kagu kachang geiyin akithinge. Pakaiyin amaho douna asei athutheng ho kajan, hichun keima jukham bangin kalon le le jenge.
Concerning the prophets: My heart within me is broken. All my bones shake. I am like a drunken man, and like a man whom wine has overcome, because of the LORD, and because of his holy words.
10 Ijeh inem itile, gamsung hi huh le jon adim in, Pakai gaosap achutai. Gam leiset alunghem tan, gamlah’a hamhing jouse agoplha gamtai. Ajeh chu amahon athaneinau chu thilse bol nopnan aneitauve.
“For the land is full of adulterers; for because of the curse the land mourns. The pastures of the wilderness have dried up. Their course is evil, and their might is not right;
11 Thempu ho leh themgao hon Pathen hephata louvin, gitlouna adimset tauve. Aphatlounau hi, keima insung jeng’a jong kamudoh tai, tin Pakaiyin aseiye.
for both prophet and priest are profane. Yes, in my house I have found their wickedness,” says the LORD.
12 Hijeh chun, amaho lamlhahna alampiu chunalding, chule kho hungthim ding ahi. Ijeh inem itile, keiman achunguva hahsatna kalhun sah’a, talen kamatsah ding phat chu ahung lhunge, tin Pakaiyin aseiye.
Therefore their way will be to them as slippery places in the darkness. They will be driven on, and fall therein; for I will bring evil on them, even the year of their visitation,” says the LORD.
13 Keiman Samaria themgao ho lah’a chonset khohtah kamui. Amahon, Ba-al min in gaothu aseiyun, kamite apuimang gam tauve.
“I have seen folly in the prophets of Samaria. They prophesied by Baal, and caused my people Israel to err.
14 Thilse bolna lam’a alamkaiyun ahiuve. Ven, amitakip gitlouna dalha-a, chule setna nungsun aumpouve. Amaho hi, Sodom leh Gommorah setna tobang ahitauve.
In the prophets of Jerusalem I have also seen a horrible thing: they commit adultery and walk in lies. They strengthen the hands of evildoers, so that no one returns from his wickedness. They have all become to me as Sodom, and its inhabitants as Gomorrah.”
15 Hichun, thaneipen Pakaiyin hitin aseiye. “Keiman amahohi namtul jungkha-a kavah ding chule thina gutwi kadonsah ding ahiuve. Ajeh chu amaho’a kon in gamsung’a Pathen nahsah louna adimsohtai,’’ ati.
Therefore the LORD of Armies says concerning the prophets: “Behold, I will feed them with wormwood, and make them drink poisoned water; for from the prophets of Jerusalem ungodliness has gone out into all the land.”
16 Thaneipen Pakaiyin hitin aseiye, “Themgao ho gaothu sei chu ngai hih un, amahon pannabeiya nakinep sah’u ahibouve. Amaho lunggel gel aseiyun, Pakaiya kon’a aseidoh’u aumpoi.
The LORD of Armies says, “Don’t listen to the words of the prophets who prophesy to you. They teach you vanity. They speak a vision of their own heart, and not out of the mouth of the LORD.
17 Amahon Pakai thusei nahsah louva koiho kom’a chun, “Olmo hih un, nangho ima tipouvin nate” atiuvin ahi. Amahon louchal tah in abolnom nom abol uvin, miho jah’a chun, “Na chunguva thilse lhungponte’’ atiuvin ahi.
They say continually to those who despise me, ‘The LORD has said, “You will have peace;”’ and to everyone who walks in the stubbornness of his own heart they say, ‘No evil will come on you.’
18 Hiche themgao hohi, Pakaiyin aumpi jing’a, chule Pakai thusei ajah mongu hinam? Amaho lah’a koipen khu, Pakai thusei ngaikhoh um’uvem?
For who has stood in the council of the LORD, that he should perceive and hear his word? Who has listened to my word, and heard it?
19 Ven, Pakai lunghanna chu khopi hui le go kitho’a, chule chimpei kipeiya, michonsete luchang asemmang tobang hiding ahi.
Behold, the LORD’s storm, his wrath, has gone out. Yes, a whirling storm! It will burst on the head of the wicked.
20 Pakaiyin alungsatna chu, agel banga aboldoh kahsea, alunghan dailha deh louhel ding ahi. Hichu ni nunung tengle nanghon kicheh tah’a nahetdiu ahi.
The LORD’s anger will not return until he has executed and performed the intents of his heart. In the latter days, you will understand it perfectly.
21 Hiche themgao hohi, keiman la kasolpon, ahivangin, amaho alhei lhei jeng uve. Chule akom’uva thujong kaseipon, hijongle amahon gaothu asei sei jeng uvin ahi.
I didn’t send these prophets, yet they ran. I didn’t speak to them, yet they prophesied.
22 Amaho chu, ka-angsunga umjing hileu, kathusei angaiyuva hichu miho kom’a aphonjal diu ahi. Chutile amahon kamite chu, achekhelnau lampi’a konle athilse bolnauva kon’a ahin lepuikit diu ahi.
But if they had stood in my council, then they would have caused my people to hear my words, and would have turned them from their evil way, and from the evil of their doings.
23 Keima nailam cha-a umjing Pathen kahi lou ham? Keima munjousea umjing Pathen kahi, ti Pakaiyin aseiye.
“Am I a God at hand,” says the LORD, “and not a God afar off?
24 Koiham keiya kon’a kisel mang thei dinga? Keima van leh leiset munjousea umjing kahi,’’ tin Pakaiyin aseiye.
Can anyone hide himself in secret places so that I can’t see him?” says the LORD. “Don’t I fill heaven and earth?” says the LORD.
25 Hiche themgao hon, asemthu-u gaothu aseijingu hi, keiman kahetai. Amahon miho jah’a, “Pakaiyin kamangin thu eiseipeh e, ngaiyuvin,’’ atiuvin, kamin in jouthu aseileuvin ahi.
“I have heard what the prophets have said, who prophesy lies in my name, saying, ‘I had a dream! I had a dream!’
26 Itih chan chu, amahon asemthu-u gaothu mangcha-a kamite ajoulhep uva, apuimang diu ham?
How long will this be in the heart of the prophets who prophesy lies, even the prophets of the deceit of their own heart?
27 Apu apateuvin keima eidalhah uva Baal ahou bangun, amahon semthu mang aseikhumun, kamite eisuhmil sah ding agel uve.
They intend to cause my people to forget my name by their dreams which they each tell his neighbor, as their fathers forgot my name because of Baal.
28 Themgao lhem hon amang semthu-u chu sei sei uhen. Ahinlah, keima kamcheng ja-a keima themgao hon, kitah tah in kathu chu seiphong’uhen. Vetan, changpol leh chang ga akibahna aumpoi, ati.
The prophet who has a dream, let him tell a dream; and he who has my word, let him speak my word faithfully. What is the straw to the wheat?” says the LORD.
29 Kathu chu meikong hattah tobang hilou ham? Chule songpi ahal hel a vogoi thei sehpi tobang hilou ham? tin Pakaiyin aseiye.
“Isn’t my word like fire?” says the LORD; “and like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces?
30 Hijeh chun Pakaiyin aseiye, “Keiman hichu jou le nal’a gaothu seiho, chule Pakaiya kon’a thuguh mu a kiseiho, kadou ahi,’’ ati.
“Therefore behold, I am against the prophets,” says the LORD, “who each steal my words from his neighbor.
31 Jouthu seiya lei kilehpel ho, Pakaiya kon thu kaseiyu ahi tia, keima min pom’a thusei ho, keiman kadou ahi.
Behold, I am against the prophets,” says the LORD, “who use their tongues, and say, ‘He says.’
32 Hiche themgao lhem hohi, keiman hatah in kadouve. Amahon mang asemthu uvin, gaothu aseiyun, kamite hi chonsetna a apuilut sohtauvin ahi. Ahivangin, keiman amaho hi kasolpoi. Chule amaho heng a thujong kasei khapoi, tin Pakaiyin aseiye.
Behold, I am against those who prophesy lying dreams,” says the LORD, “who tell them, and cause my people to err by their lies, and by their vain boasting; yet I didn’t send them or command them. They don’t profit this people at all,” says the LORD.
33 Hiche mite khattou hon, themgao khattou ham, chule thempu khattou ham chun, nahin doh’uva, “Pakaiyin apohgih thu ipi asei am?’’ atiule, nangin amaho jah’a, “Pakai pohgih chu nangho nahiuve. Hijeh a chu Pakaiyin nang hohi napaidoh diu ahitai, tin Pakaiyin aseiye,’’ tia naseipeh ding ahi.
“When this people, or the prophet, or a priest, asks you, saying, ‘What is the message from the LORD?’ Then you shall tell them, ‘“What message? I will cast you off,” says the LORD.’
34 Chule themgao khat ham, thempu khat ham, chule mite lah a khatpen ham in, “Pakaiyin kahenga thu aseiye, ti mi aumleh, ama leh a insung mite abon’a keiman talen kamatsah ding ahi,’’ ati.
As for the prophet, the priest, and the people, who say, ‘The message from the LORD,’ I will even punish that man and his household.
35 Hisanga chu, nangho khat le khat nakidoh touva, Pakaiyin ipi aseiyam? Chule Pakaiyin iti adonbut uvem? nati joh dingu ahi.
You will say everyone to his neighbor, and everyone to his brother, ‘What has the LORD answered?’ and, ‘What has the LORD said?’
36 Amavang, nanghon ‘Pakaiya kon Pakai pohgih’ ti thucheng hi naman louhel diu ahi. Ajeh chu mihon, amaho dei dei bol nopnan amangun, Pathen thu chu aleheisoh gamtauvin ahi.
You will mention the message from the LORD no more, for every man’s own word has become his message; for you have perverted the words of the living God, of the LORD of Armies, our God.
37 Nangman themgao ho chu hiti hin dongin, “Pakaiyin iti nadonbut uvem? Chule Pakaiyin ipi aseiyam?’’ natiding ahi.
You will say to the prophet, ‘What has the LORD answered you?’ and, ‘What has the LORD spoken?’
38 Ijemtia amahon “Kaseiyu hi Pakaiya kon ahi” atiuleh; Nangin seipeh jengin, “Pakaiyin aseiye, keiman neiminphah lou diuva kagih vangun, nanghon,” hiche hi Pakaiya kon ahi, nati tei teiyun;
Although you say, ‘The message from the LORD,’ therefore the LORD says: ‘Because you say this word, “The message from the LORD,” and I have sent to you, telling you not to say, “The message from the LORD,”
39 Hijeh’a chu, keiman nangho kageldoh kit louhel diu, napu napateu kapehsa hiche khopi jong kasuh mang ding, chule nangho jong kachop kom’a kadelmang diu nahiuve, ati.
therefore behold, I will utterly forget you, and I will cast you off with the city that I gave to you and to your fathers, away from my presence.
40 Chule keiman nachung uva, tonsot kumkhoa jum le ja kathoh sah a, aitih’a vetda nachannau beilou ding ahi, tin Pakaiyin aseiye, ati.
I will bring an everlasting reproach on you, and a perpetual shame, which will not be forgotten.’”
