< Isaiah 28 >

1 Ipi lung gentheinan anga hitam Samaria khopi kiletsahna adim chun-Israel jukham ho loupina lal lukhuh chu. Phaicham leipha laiya chun atouvin ahin, ahoi aloupina chu pahcha banga mollha ding ahi. Mite kiletsahna chu ju’n apuilhah ding ahi.
Woe [to] the proud crown of the drunkards of Ephraim. And the fading flower of the beauty of his glory, That [is] on the head of the fat valley of the broken down of wine.
2 Ajehchu Pakai in adou dinga galsat hattah ho asol ding ahi. Hui leh gel hattah ahung juh lhah banga huipin twikhanglen asemdil jeng banga, tol jep na anei ding ahi.
Behold, a mighty and strong one [is] to the Lord, As a storm of hail—a destructive shower, As an inundation of mighty waters overflowing, He cast down to the earth with the hand.
3 Samaria kihoitho sahna khopi-Israel jukham ho loupina lal lukhuh gal mite kengto noija chotpha umding ahi.
The proud crown of the drunkards of Ephraim is trodden down by feet,
4 Phaicham lei phalai achun atouvin, ahin ahoina loupi chu pahcha banga mollha ding ahi. Koi hijongleh amu achun asalhah ding, theichang ga masa kiloulha a, kinepai bang ding ahi.
And the fading flower of the beauty of his glory That [is] on the head of the fat valley, Has been as its first-fruit before summer, That its beholder sees; He swallows it while it [is] yet in his hand.
5 Achaina leh van Janel Pakai, amatah chu Israel loupina lallukhuh hung hiding ahi. Amite amoh cheng sedinga akipanao leh aki choi at nao hung hiding ahi.
In that day YHWH of Hosts is For a crown of beauty, and for a circlet of glory, To the remnant of His people.
6 Thutandih a tan nom na lungthim a thutan vaihom ho apeh ding ahi. Kotpi ngah a um gal hang ho han sanna apeh ding ahi.
And for a spirit of judgment To him who is sitting in the judgment, And for might [to] those turning back the battle to the gate.
7 Ahijeng vang'in tun, Israel chu ju kham in alon dong dong in ahi. Thempu holeh themgao ho jong jukham in alon le leuvin, ju in bou akisalel taovin ahi. Mu anei naova jong amuchen tapouvin, akham jeh un thulhuhna jong apethei tapouve.
And even these have erred through wine, And have wandered through strong drink, Priest and prophet erred through strong drink, They have been swallowed up of the wine, They wandered because of the strong drink, They have erred in seeing, They have stumbled judicially.
8 A dokhang chung’u jong loh in atom dim in; muntin anen soh keitai.
For all tables have been full of vomit, Filth—without place!
9 “Pakai in eiho koi ihiu a gel em?” tin adong uve. “Aman ipi dinga hitia hi eihou u ham? Naonoi chep haitil chapang neo ihiu ham?
By whom does He teach knowledge? And by whom does He cause to understand the report? The weaned from milk, the removed from breasts,
10 Aman avel avel in eiseipeh uvin-phat khatna thugol khat, phat khatna thugol khat, hilai a themkhat, khulanga chu them khat,” ati ding ahi.
For rule on rule, rule on rule, Line on line, line on line, A little here, a little there,
11 Hijeh a chu tua hi Pakai in amite henga, gamchom mi sugenthei hon pao kidang atho banguva, ahoulim pidiu ahi!
For by scorned lip, and by another tongue, Does He speak to this people.
12 Pathen’in amite henga hitin aseije, “Hilai ahin kicholngah na mun a ume; thachol ho hilai ahin kichol uhen. Hilai mun hi thipchetna kichol na ahi.” Ahin amahon ana ngai pouve.
To whom He has said, “This [is] the rest, give rest to the weary, And this—the refreshing”: And they have not been willing to hear,
13 Hijeh a chu Pakai in thuhil amite ahin peh kitding, thugol chunga thugol, thugol chunga thugol, hilai a themkhat chuleh khulanga themkhat, hitia chu amaho kipal a lhudiu ahi. Amaho chu kisukha diu, Oh diu, chuleh mattup a umdiu ahi.
And to whom a word of YHWH has been, Rule on rule, rule on rule, Line on line, line on line, A little here, a little there, So that they go and have stumbled backward, And been broken, and snared, and captured.
14 Hijeh chun, Pakai akona thuhil hunglhung hi ngaijun nangho mi ija seplou Jerusalem a thunei leh vaihom ho.
Therefore, hear a word of YHWH, you men of scorning, Ruling this people that [is] in Jerusalem.
15 Hitihin na kisonge, “Thina lhemlha din kinoptona kanei uvin, chule thivui namun peldoh din thulhuhna kanei taovin ahi. Manthah na hung lhung chun eisuhkhah louhel diu ahi. Ajehchu jou le lheplhah na akon in kichol dona lhouding tahkhat kasao ve.” (Sheol h7585)
Because you have said: “We have made a covenant with death, And we have made a provision with Sheol, An overflowing scourge, when it passes over, Does not meet us, Though we have made a lie our refuge, And have been hidden in falsehood.” (Sheol h7585)
16 Hijeh chun, thanei pen Pakai in aseije: “Ven! Keiman bulphu na songpi Jerusalem'a katunge, dettah le hoitah song ahi. Inning song man tamtah, achunga insah nadia jong lhou tah hiding ahi. A tahsan chan chu kilong louhel ding ahi.
Therefore, thus said Lord YHWH: “Behold, I am laying a foundation in Zion, A stone—a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a settled foundation, He who is believing does not make haste.
17 Thutan dihna golkai na manga ka patep ding, chonphatna chu athuh adon vetna ka man ding ahi. Na kisel nachu jouva kisem ahijeh'in, huise gel in ano lhah ding ahi. Lhep lhahna akon ahijeh'in, tuilen in alhoh mang ding ahi.
And I have put judgment for a line, And righteousness for a plummet, And hail sweeps away the refuge of lies, And waters overflow the secret hiding place.
18 Thina joulhep nadia na kihou toh nao kasuh haiding ahin, thina lhankhuh peldoh ding natiu jong kale hei ding ahi. Tijat umtah galmi ho ahung teng uleh, tol'a chotpha a naum diu ahi. (Sheol h7585)
And your covenant with death has been annulled, And your provision with Sheol does not stand, An overflowing scourge, when it passes over, Then you have been to it for a treading-place. (Sheol h7585)
19 Avel avel a tui hung len ding, jingkah sim jingkah seh a, sun le jan'a puimanga na um kah a.” Hiche thuhil hin namite asuh tijat dingu ahi.
From the fullness of its passing over it takes you, For it passes over morning by morning, By day and by night, And it has been only a trembling to consider the report.
20 Na jalkhun chu lup nadin achom val e. Samulpon hojong aneo val in, na kisil khop lou ding ahi.
For the bed has been shorter Than to stretch one’s self out in, And the covering has been narrower Than to wrap one’s self up in.
21 Perazim lhanga philistines douna anei banga Pakai chu hung ding ahin, Gibeon a Amorites te douna atoh bang ding ahi. Thil kidang tah bol a hung ding ahi; bolkhah louhel bol dia hung ding ahi.
For as YHWH rises [at] Mount Perazim, As He is troubled [at] the valley in Gibeon, To do His work—strange [is] His work, And to do His deed—strange [is] His deed.”
22 Ajeh chu Pakai, van janel Pakai chun gamsung jouse suhmang ding hi ka tupten ahi tin jangpet in aseijin ahi, Hijeh chun ija selouvin koi tahih in, achutilouleh gotna nachan chu sang cheh ding ahi.
And now, do not show yourselves scorners, Lest your bands are strong, For a consumption, that is determined, I have heard, by the Lord, YHWH of Hosts, [Is] for all the land.
23 Ka thusei hi ngaijun; lunglut tah in hung naijun lang, ngaijun.
Give ear, and hear my voice, Attend, and hear my saying:
24 Lou bolpan muchi tulouva, lou alhojing jeng ding ham? Muchi ima tulou hel'a lei alholho jeng ding ham?
Does the plowman plow the whole day to sow? He opens and harrows his ground!
25 Lei alho chaiteng hiche muchi ho hi atuji hilou ham?- Lengmusel, jira, gehu, butun, chuleh suhlou chang-amun cheh'a kitu ji ahi.
Has he not, if he has made its face level, Then scattered fitches, and sprinkles cumin, And has placed the principal wheat, And the appointed barley, And the rye [in] its own border?
26 Loubol pan ipi abol ding akihet nin, ajehchu Pathenin het theina apeh ahi.
And his God instructs him for judgment, He directs him.
27 Lengmusel jepnan sehlentah akimangji poi; mol jangkhai joh in akijep jin ahi. Kangtalai jong jira chunga a kitang poi; chusangin, jangtah in avohna mol a, akivoji boivin ahi.
For fitches are not threshed with a sharp-pointed thing, And the wheel of a cart turned around on cumin, For fitches are beaten out with a staff, And cumin with a rod.
28 Changlhah ding chang chu bailam tah in akisudi thei jin, hijeh achu asuhdi jing louding ahi. Achunga kangtalai a lih khum in, ahinla asubong joudeh poi.
Bread-[grain] is beaten small, For he does not severely thresh it forever, Nor has a wheel of his cart crushed [it], Nor do his hooves beat it small.
29 Van janel Pakai hi mihil kidangtah leh loubol ho hetna sangtah pe’a chu ahi.
Even this from YHWH of Hosts has gone out, He has made counsel wonderful, He has made wisdom great!
