1 Sarah chu kum jakhat le kum som ni le kum sagi jen ahing in,
And Sarah was a hundred and twenty-seven years old: [these were] the years of the life of Sarah.
2 Sarah chu Kiriath-arba kiti muna athi tan, hichu Hebron kiti Canaan gam sunga um ahi, hichun Abraham chu Sarah umlou jeh a lunghel le mitlhi long in achup in ahi.
And Sarah died in Kirjath-arba; the same [is] Hebron in the land of Canaan: And Abraham came to mourn for Sarah, and to weep for her.
3 Hichun ajinu long adalhah ding jeh in Hit mite ho kom a aseiyin,
And Abraham stood up from before his dead, and spoke to the sons of Heth, saying,
4 “Keima gam chom mi kahin nangho lah a maljin bou kahi. Gambeh neo khat nei choh sah un, chuti le keiman ka jinu hi phaten kivui thei ing'e,” ati.
I [am] a stranger and a sojourner with you; give me a possession of a burying-place with you, that I may bury my dead out of my sight.
5 Hit mite ho chun Abraham adonbut un,
And the children of Heth answered Abraham, saying to him,
6 Ja umtah kapu thuseiyu ngaiyin, nangma Pathen a leng chapa banga kei ho lah a uma keiho lhan khuh aphapen khat'a khun na thilong chu vui jeng in, ka lah uva mihem khat cha jong hi alhan khuh na itpeh a na thilong na vuisah lou ding aum poi,” atiuve.
Hear us, my lord; thou [art] a mighty prince among us: in the choice of our sepulchers bury thy dead: none of us will withhold from thee his sepulcher, but that thou mayest bury thy dead.
7 Hichun Abraham ading doh in agamsung mipite Hite miho chu salam bol din abohkhup tai.
And Abraham stood up and bowed himself to the people of the land, to the children of Heth.
8 Abraham'in aseiyin, “Nangman nei kithopi nom kahen ahithei dingle Ephron Zohar chapa koma neisei peh uvin.”
And he communed with them, saying, If it is your mind that I should bury my dead out of my sight, hear me, and entreat for me to Ephron the son of Zohar,
9 “Ajeh chu agamgi chin a um ama Machpelah songlhan keo khu eipeh theiya ahile ken jong lhan muna kaman jing dingin nangho umpet tah hin aman alhingset in peng kate,” ati.
That he may give me the cave of Machpelah, which he hath, which [is] in the end of his field; for as much money as it is worth he shall give it me, for a possession of a burying-place among you.
10 Ephron chu mipi lah a atou pet ahin, Abraham chu adonbut in midang hon jong athusei chu aja cheh un, Hite mite ho khopi sunga umjouse jah ah hitin aseiye.
And Ephron dwelt among the children of Heth. And Ephron the Hittite answered Abraham in the audience of the children of Heth, of all that entered the gates of his city, saying,
11 “Hithei ponte ka Pakai,” tin Abraham chu adonbut'e, “Lungset tah in ka thusei hi ngaiyin, keiman ka gam sunga adam lai, atong lai, kapeh ding nahi. Tuhin mipi ho masanga nangma kapeh ding nahi, chule nangman naji nu alongdamsa navui thei ahi.”
Nay, my lord, hear me: the field give I to thee, and the cave that [is] in it, I give it to thee; in the presence of the sons of my people I give it to thee: bury thy dead.
12 Abraham chu agam mipiho masang a abohkhup kit in,
And Abraham bowed himself before the people of the land.
13 Hichun Abraham'in Ephron le mipi atou cheng ho jah'a aseikit in, “Hithei ponte, lungset tah in ngaiyun, nangho koma ka choh nom lheh e, keiman gam man chu ka peh lhing nom e, ka loinu longdamsa kavui thei na ding in,” ati.
And he spoke to Ephron in the audience of the people of the land, saying, But if thou [wilt give it], I pray thee, hear me: I will give thee money for the field: take [it] of me, and I will bury my dead there.
14 Hichun Ephron in Abraham adonbut in,
And Ephron answered Abraham, saying to him,
15 Ka Pakai lungset tah in ngaiyin hiche gam man hi dangka jali ahiye, amavang eini golcha kingailut nahi mantam ahi? che inlang na loinu long damsa chu gavui tan ati.
My lord, hearken to me: the land [is worth] four hundred shekels of silver; what [is] that betwixt me and thee? bury therefore thy dead.
16 Hichun Abraham chun Ephron in aseijat dangka jali chu apetan, hiche lai phat na kailhang thil man dung jui jin, thil kichoh dan ho chu Hit mite lah a tehse hon amu cheh uve.
And Abraham hearkened to Ephron; and Abraham weighed to Ephron the silver which he had named in the audience of the sons of Heth, four hundred shekels of silver, current [money] with the merchant.
17 Abraham'in Ephron koma gam Machpelah kiti Mamre koma um chu acho doh tai. Hiche mun in ahop chu ahile atong, adam sung, chule akoma thingphung um jouse jong ahi.
And the field of Ephron, which [was] in Machpelah, which [was] before Mamre, the field and the cave which [was] in it, and all the trees that [were] in the field, that [were] in all the borders round about, were made sure
18 Abraham dinga chu anei agou ahitan, hichea chun Hit mite kelkot kom a chenghon jong ahe soh un ahi.
To Abraham for a possession in the presence of the children of Heth, before all that entered the gate of his city.
19 Phat chomkhat jouvin Abraham'in ajinu Sarah long Machpelah a Mamre koma Hebron kiti Canaan gamsunga avuitan ahi.
And after this, Abraham buried Sarah his wife in the cave of the field of Machpelah, before Mamre: the same [is] Hebron in the land of Canaan.
20 Aleimun le aleilaiya songlhan keo chu Hite miten alhan mun dingin Abraham achansah tauve.
And the field, and the cave that [is] in it were made sure to Abraham for a possession of a burying-place, by the sons of Heth.
