< Thuhilpa 12 >

1 Nakhangdonlai thanopna chun na Sempa suhmilna sodoh hih hen. Natehset masang nakhangdon laihin, Ama chu jabollin chule “Hinkho hi anomtapoi,” tin seijin.
Remember nowe thy Creator in the daies of thy youth, whiles the euill daies come not, nor the yeeres approche, wherein thou shalt say, I haue no pleasure in them:
2 Nateh’a namit tenin nisa lha le ahsiho vah avetna athim masang in, chule meibol’a kona go hung ju lha ding van chu athim masangin Ama chu geldoh in.
Whiles the sunne is not darke, nor ye light, nor the moone, nor the starres, nor the cloudes returne after the raine:
3 Na in ngah’a pang nakengho chu ahung kithin masang in, na mihat ho alhahsuh uva chule na lengkou teni ahung bon masang in, na Sempa geldoh in. Nasoh um amoh chengse le naha hon ima alhai theilou masang in; chule namit tenin amutheina bangkot, numei hon avetna chu ahung thim masang in, Ama chu geldoh in.
When the keepers of ye house shall tremble, and the strong men shall bow them selues, and the grinders shall cease, because they are few, and they waxe darke that looke out by ye windowes:
4 Hinkhoa phat kijen naneipat ahung kichai masang in chule natohgim phat ahung kichai masang in, Ama chu geldoh in. Husat ginho ahung thipma chule vacha hamgin najah masat tengleh nangma nahung kithodoh ding ahi.
And the doores shall be shut without by the base sound of the grinding, and he shall rise vp at the voice of the birde: and all the daughters of singing shall be abased.
5 Nangma lhuh ding nahung kichat tijatna, chule lamlen jotna’a jong setto ding nalung khama, vaopah banga nasam ho ahung kana, chule khaokhopi tobanga nakhupboh’a lam nahin jot masang in, chule jitoh kingaina imacha nei talouva nahung um masang in, Ama chu geldoh in. Nangman na tonsot mun na jot masanga, lhankhuh nanai tul tul’a, na kivuina muna lunghem ho aka phat’u hung lhun masang in, Ama chu geldoh in.
Also they shalbe afraide of the hie thing, and feare shalbe in the way, and the almond tree shall flourish, and the grassehopper shall be a burden, and concupiscence shall be driuen away: for man goeth to the house of his age, and the mourners goe about in the streete.
6 Nangma nakhandon pat hin dangka khaogui akibotan masang, sana khon aki vohkeh masang, twinah phunga twibel aki tachip masang, twibel phunga kangtalai aki vohbal masang in, na Sempa geldoh in.
Whiles the siluer coarde is not lengthened, nor the golden ewer broken, nor the pitcher broken at the well, nor the wheele broken at the cisterne:
7 Ijeh inem itileh hiche phat chu ahung lhunteng, vut leiset kisoh kit intin; chule lhagao chu apepa Pathen henga kile kit ding ahi.
And dust returne to the earth as it was, and the spirit returne to God that gaue it.
8 Thuhilpa chun, “Ijakai ajehbei tobangbep ahi, ajeh bei ahisoh keije,” ati.
Vanitie of vanities, saieth the Preacher, all is vanitie.
9 Hiche hi nalung in ching jing in: Thuhilpa chu miching ahin, chule amachun ahetchan chu miho ahilji ahi. Ama chun thuchih tampi chingthetah’a angaitoa, agel-a chule ahop khen tohle ahi.
And the more wise the Preacher was, the more he taught the people knowledge, and caused them to heare, and searched foorth, and prepared many parables.
10 Thuhilpa chun, thudihtah chu mudoh dinga ahol-a thutah chu kichehtah’a aphondoh nom ahi.
The Preacher sought to finde out pleasant wordes, and an vpright writing, euen the wordes of trueth.
11 Miching thusei hochu tengcha hemtah tobanga ahin, najongleh phachoma ahi. Athuseiju kilakhom hohi thingkil kikil matchet tobang leuva kelngoi chingpan akelngoi ho huikhomna’a amanchah ji tobang ahi.
The wordes of the wise are like goads, and like nailes fastened by the masters of the assemblies, which are giuen by one pastour.
12 Hinlah kacha, Keiman thuhilna naneibe kit inge: Chingthei jin, ajeh chu lekhabu ho jihdoh kitia kichai tih aumpoi, chule lekha hasim hin na cholsah ahije.
And of other things beside these, my sone, take thou heede: for there is none ende in making many bookes, and much reading is a wearines of the flesh.
13 Hiche hi aboncha thu kaigom ahi. Tun keiman thukhumkhana kanei hi ngai phan: Pathen ginna neijin chule athupeh ho jui jin, ajeh chu hiche hi amitakip tohding kin ahi.
Let vs heare the end of all: feare God and keepe his commandements: for this is the whole duetie of man.
14 Ijakai chung changa, guhthim thudol- apha hihen ase hijongleh, Pathen in eiho thilbol dungjui cheh’a thutanna anei ding ahi.
For God will bring euery worke vnto iudgement, with euery secret thing, whether it be good or euill.
