< 2 Samuel 6 >

1 Chuin David in avellin Israel mi galhang sangsom thum kilhengdoh ho chu akoukhom kit in ahi.
And David, once more, gathered together all the choice young men in Israel, thirty thousand.
2 David in amaho chu alamkai in Judah gamma Baalah kom a Pathen thingkong chu gale poh din achi taovin ahi, hichu van pathen sepai ho minna kikou, alai a Cherubim lal touna um chu ahi.
Then David, and all the people that were with him, arose and went beyond Baale Judah, —to bring up from thence, the ark of God, the name whereof is called by the name of Yahweh of hosts, who inhabiteth the cherubim thereupon.
3 Hichun Pathen thingkong chu bongkang thah chungah aheng un chule molchung lamma Abinadab’s in akon ahinpudoh taovin, chule Abinadab’s chapateni Uzzah le Ahio chun bongkang chu ahintol lhon in ahi.
So they carried the ark of God in a new waggon, and brought it out of the house of Abinadab, who was in Gibeah, —and, Uzza and Ahio, sons of Abinadab, were driving the new waggon.
4 Pathen thingkong kipoh nachu. Chule Ahio chu thingkong masangah achin ahi.
So they brought it out of the house of Abinadab, which was in Gibeah, with the ark of God, —and, Ahio, was going before the ark.
5 Chuin David le Israel mipi jouse chun Pakai masangah la a asaovin, chule tumging thei jouse – pengkul, selangdah, khongpi, selki, chule sumlheng jouse suging pummin golnup abol taovin ahi.
And, David and all the house of Israel, were dancing for joy before Yahweh, with all boldness and with songs, —and with lyres, and with harps, and with timbrels, and with sistrums, and with cymbals.
6 Ahinlah amahon Nacon changphol mun ahin phah uchun bongchal teni chu akipal lhu lhonin ahileh Uzzah chun akhut ajahdoh gangchal in Pathen thingkong chu atuh tan ahi.
And, when they came as far as the threshing-floor of Nachon, Uzzah thrust forth his hand unto the ark of God, and took hold of it, for the oxen were restive.
7 Hichun Pathen lunghan nachu Uzzah chungah achutan hijeh chun Pathennin Uzzah chu amun maman Pathen thingkong komah chun athat tan ahi.
Then was kindled the anger of Yahweh, against Uzzah, and God smote him there, for the error, —so that he died there, by the ark of God.
8 Pathenin Uzzah chunga alunghan ahinbuh lhah jeng jeh chun David alung phamo lheh tan ahi. hijeh chun aman hiche mun chu Perez – Uzzah asah tan ahi (hichu Uzzah chunga thunoh lhunna mun tin na ahi), tuni chanin akisaah tan ahi.
And it was a sadness unto David, for that Yahweh had broken in with a breach against Uzzah, —therefore called he that place, Perez-uzzah [as it is called] until this day.
9 Hiche thilsoh jou apet chun David in Pakai chu akicha lheh tan, hijeh chun aman Pakai chu adong tan ahi, “eti keiman Pakai thing kong hi keima vetsui nanoi a kahin le choilut thei ding ham?” ati.
And David was afraid of Yahweh, on that day, —and said, How can the ark of Yahweh come unto me?
10 Hijeh chun David in Pakai thingkong chu David khopi a pohlut lou din pha asah tai. Hinlah Gath mi Obed – edom insung injoh apolut tan ahi.
So David would not remove unto him the ark of Yahweh, unto the city of David, —but David took it aside to the house of Obed-edom, the Gittite.
11 Pakai thingkong chu Obed – edom insungah lhathum sung aumden nalai in, hijeh chun Obed – edom le a insung pumpi chu Pakai Pathen in phatthei abohtan ahi.
And the ark of Yahweh abode in the house of Obed-edom the Gittite, three months, —and Yahweh blessed Obed -edom, and all his household.
12 Hichun leng David chu hitin akiseipih tan ahi, “Pakaiyin Obed – edom’s insung pumpi le aneijouse phatthei abohtan ahi Pathen thingkong jeh chun.” Hijeh chun David jong achin Pathen thingkong chu Obed – edom insunga kon david khopi lammah kipa golnup loupi tah pummin ahin potan ahi.
And it was told King David, saying, Yahweh hath blessed the household of Obed-edom, and all that he hath, because of the ark of God. David therefore went and brought up the ark of God, out of the house of Obed-edom, unto the city of David, with rejoicing.
13 Chuin Pakai thingkong puhon kalgup ason jou un, David in bongchal le bongnou thaochat in kilhaina aboltan ahi.
And so it was that, when they who bare the ark of Yahweh had stepped forward six paces, he sacrificed an ox and a heifer.
14 Chuin David chun thempu ho sangkhol chol akiah in atha neina jouse pummin Pakai angsungah alam tan ahi.
And, David, was dancing with all boldness before Yahweh, —David, being girt with an ephod of linen.
15 Hichun David le Israel mipi jouse chun Pakai thingkong chu kipah thong jeju le kelchaki mutging toh thon aputou taovin ahi.
So, David and all the house of Israel, were bringing up the ark of Yahweh, —with triumphant shoutings, and with the sound of a horn.
16 Ahin Pakai thingkong chu David khopi alhut taovin ahileh, Saul chanu Michal chun abang kot akon ahin suhvet tan ahi. chuin amanun leng David Pakai angsunga akhut alea alam chu amutan ahileh amanu chu David chung ngah lung himo nana dim tan ahi.
Now it so came about that, when the ark of Yahweh entered the city of David, Michal Saul’s daughter, looked out through the window, and saw King David, leaping and dancing before Yahweh, and she despised him, in her heart.
17 Chuin Pakai thingkong chu ahin puvin David in akoi nadia asem ponbuh sungah chun akoi taovin ahi. chuin David in Pakai angah kilhainan govam thilto le chamna thilto aneitan ahi.
So they brought in the ark of Yahweh, and set it in its place, in the midst of the tent which David had stretched out for it, —and David caused to go up ascending-sacrifices before Yahweh, and peace-offerings.
18 Chuin kilhaina abolchai in, David in mipi jouse chu van Pathen minin phatthei aboh taovin ahi.
And, when David had finished offering up the ascending-sacrifice and the peace-offerings, he blessed the people in the name of Yahweh of hosts.
19 Chuin Israel pasal jouse le numei jouse chu changlhah phengkhat cheh, sachan khat cheh, le lengpi theija kisem changlhah khat cheh ahoppih un ahi. chujouvin mipi jouse chu a inlam cheh un akile taovin ahi.
And he apportioned to all the people, to all the multitude of Israel, both to men and to women—to every one, a loaf of bread, and a sweet drink, and a raisin-cake, —and all the people went their way, every one unto his own house;
20 Hitichun David’in ama insung mite phattheiboh ding tia inlam akile chun, Saul chanu Michal ama kimupi din ahungpot doh in ahi. amanun jalou tah in hitin aseiye, “eti jachat um hitam tuni Israel lengpan mingol khat in abol ding tabanga asaguhkiuva asoh numeiho masanga aum jeng chu!” ati.
and David returned, to bless his household. Then came forth Michal Saul’s daughter to meet David, and said—How honoured, to-day, was the king of Israel in disrobing himself to-day, in the sight of the handmaids of his servants, as one of the low people, might disrobe himself?
21 Chuin David in Michal chu alethuh in, “keima Pakai napa te le ainsung mite jouse chung vum'a eilhengpa! Pathen mi Israel te chunga lamkai dia eingansepa masanga chu kipah a lam kahi ati.
And David said unto Michal, Before Yahweh, I will dance, —blessed, be Yahweh, who made choice of me above thy father, and above all his house, putting me in charge as leader over the people of Yahweh, over Israel, —therefore will I dance before Yahweh;
22 Henge, hisanga ngoljo a umding jong kanome chule keima mitmutah a kineosah ding jong! Ahin soh numei naminphah ho vang chun keimahi chingtah a eigel diu ahi! ati.
and will make myself, yet more, lightly esteemed that this, and become lowly in mine own eyes, —nevertheless, with the handmaids of whom thou hast spoken, with them, shall I be honoured.
23 Hitichun Saul chanu Michal chu ahinkho lhumkei jin chaneilou vin aum tan ahi.
Therefore, Michal Saul’s daughter, had no child, —unto the day of her death.
