1 David capa Solomon loh a ram ah thaa a huel vaengah anih te a Pathen BOEIPA loh a so la a pantai sak hang.
And Solomon son of David strengthens himself over his kingdom, and his God YHWH [is] with him, and makes him exceedingly great.
2 Te vaengah Solomon loh Israel boeih te khaw, thawngkhat neh yakhat mangpa rhoek te khaw, laitloek rhoek te khaw, Israel pum kah khoboei neh a napa boeilu boeih rhoek te khaw a voek.
And Solomon says to all Israel, to heads of the thousands, and of the hundreds, and to the ones judging, and to every honorable one of all Israel, heads of the fathers,
3 Te phoeiah Solomon neh a taengkah hlangping boeih te Gibeon kah hmuensang la cet uh. Teah te khosoek ah BOEIPA kah sal Moses loh a saii Pathen kah tingtunnah dap khaw om.
and they go—Solomon, and all the assembly with him—to the high place that [is] in Gibeon, for God’s Tent of Meeting has been there, that Moses, servant of YHWH, made in the wilderness,
4 David loh Pathen thingkawng te Kiriathjearim loh amah te ham a saelh hmuen la a khuen. Te ham te David loh Jerusalem ah dap a tuk pah.
but David had the Ark of God brought up from Kirjath-Jearim to the [place] David had prepared for it, for he stretched out a tent for it in Jerusalem;
5 Tedae Hur koca Uri capa Bezalel kah a saii rhohum hmueihtuk te tah BOEIPA kah dungtlungim hmai ah a khueh tih te te Solomon neh hlangping loh a dawt.
and the altar of bronze that Bezaleel son of Uri, son of Hur made, he put before the Dwelling Place of YHWH; and Solomon and the assembly seek Him [there].
6 Te phoeiah Solomon te tingtunnah dap ah BOEIPA mikhmuh kah rhohum hmueihtuk taengla pahoi cet tih a soah hmueihhlutnah thawngkhat a nawn.
And Solomon goes up there, on the altar of bronze, before YHWH, that [is] at the Tent of Meeting, and causes one thousand burnt-offerings to ascend on it.
7 Tekah khoyin ah tah Pathen te Solomon taengah phoe tih anih te, “Mebang khaw bih lamtah nang te kam pae eh?,” a ti nah.
In that night God has appeared to Solomon and says to him, “Ask—what do I give to you?”
8 Te dongah Solomon loh Pathen taengah, “Namah loh a pa David taengah sitlohnah muep na tueng dongah kai he anih yueng la nan manghai sak.
And Solomon says to God, “You have done great kindness with my father David, and have caused me to reign in his stead.
9 BOEIPA Pathen aw, na ol he a pa David taengah cak saeh. Namah loh kai he diklai laipi, pilnam miping soah nan manghai sak coeng.
Now, O YHWH God, Your word with my father David is steadfast, for You have caused me to reign over a people [as] numerous as the dust of the earth;
10 Kai he cueihnah neh cangnah m'pae mai laeh lamtah pilnam mikhmuh ah he ka kun ka ael, ka vuenva pawn eh. Na pilnam he yet he u long nim lai a tloek ve?” a ti.
now, give wisdom and knowledge to me, and I go out before this people, and I come in, for who judges this—Your great people?”
11 Te dongah Pathen loh Solomon te, “He he na thinko ah om pai tih khuehtawn koeva neh thangpomnah nan bih moenih, na lunguet kah hinglu neh khohnin a puh khaw nan bih moenih. Namah ham te cueihnah neh cangnah nan bih. Te nen te a soah nang kan manghai sak thil ka pilnam te laitloek pah.
And God says to Solomon, “Because that this has been with your heart, and you have not asked for riches, wealth, and honor, and the life of those hating you, and also have not asked for many days, and ask for wisdom and knowledge for yourself, so that you judge My people over which I have caused you to reign—
12 Cueihnah neh cangnah te nang taengah kam paek. Te phoeiah khuehtawn neh koeva neh thangpomnah khaw nang taengah kam paek ni. Te bang te nang hmai kah manghai rhoek taengah khaw om pawt tih nang hnukah khaw te bang te om mahpawh,” a ti nah.
the wisdom and the knowledge is given to you, and riches and wealth and honor I [also] give to you, that there has not been so to the kings who [are] before you, and after you it is not so.”
13 Te phoeiah Solomon tah Gibeon kah hmuensang lamkah tingtunnah dap hmai lamloh Jerusalem la cet tih Israel te a manghai thil.
And Solomon comes in to Jerusalem [from] the high place that [is] in Gibeon, from before the Tent of Meeting, and reigns over Israel,
14 Te phoeiah Solomon loh leng neh marhang caem te a coi tih a taengah leng thawngkhat ya li neh marhang caem thawng hlai nit a om pah. Te te leng khopuei khui neh Jerusalem kah manghai taengah a khoem.
and Solomon gathers chariots and horsemen, and he has one thousand and four hundred chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen, and he places them in the cities of the chariots, and with the king in Jerusalem.
15 Manghai loh cak neh sui te Jerusalem ah lungto bangla a kuk tih lamphai te kolrhawk ah aka ding thaihae bangla a hawn.
And the king makes the silver and the gold in Jerusalem as stones, and the cedars he made as sycamores that [are] in the low country, for abundance.
16 Solomon kah marhang rhoek te Egypt lamkah neh Kue lamloh a thawt pah. Kue lamkah te manghai kah thenpom a phu la a loh uh.
And the source of the horses that [are] for Solomon [is] from Egypt and from Keva; merchants of the king take [them] from Keva at a price,
17 A khuen uh vaengah khaw Egypt lamkah te leng pakhat ah tangka ya rhuk neh marhang pumat te ya sawmnga neh a khuen uh. Te tlam ni Khitti manghai boeih neh Aram manghai rhoek taengah khaw amamih kut neh a khuen uh.
and they come up, and bring out a chariot from Egypt for six hundred pieces of silver, and a horse for one hundred and fifty, and so for all the kings of the Hittites and the kings of Aram—they bring [them] out by their hand.
