< Isaiah 23 >
1 Tyre olrhuh, Tarshish sangpho te rhung laeh saeh. Im a om kolla a rhoelrhak tih Kittim kho lamloh ha pawk kolla amih taengah a phoe pah.
The burden of Tyre. Howl, ye ships of Tarshish; for it is laid waste, so that there is no house, no entering in: from the land of Kittim it is revealed to them.
2 Sanglak kah khosa rhoek te kuemsuem saeh. Tuipuei aka hlaikan Sidon thenpom loh nang n'cung sak coeng.
Be still, ye inhabitants of the isle; thou whom the merchants of Zidon, that pass over the sea, have replenished.
3 Shihor cangti neh sokko cangvuei kah a cangthaih tah tui len soah namtom kah a thenpom la poeh coeng.
And on great waters the seed of Shihor, the harvest of the Nile, was her revenue; and she was the mart of nations.
4 Tuipuei lunghim loh tuipuei te a voek tih, “Ka vawn pawt tih ca ka cun pawh, tongpang khaw ka pantai sak pawt tih oila khaw ka poeh mai pawh,” a ti dongah Sidon te yahpok saeh.
Be thou ashamed, O Zidon: for the sea hath spoken, the strong hold of the sea; saying, I have not travailed, nor brought forth, neither have I nourished young men, nor brought up virgins.
5 Egypt taengkah olthang vanbangla Tyre olthang long khaw a thuek uh.
When the report cometh to Egypt, they shall be sorely pained at the report of Tyre.
6 Tarshish la hlaikan uh laeh, sanglak kah khosa rhoek khaw rhung uh laeh.
Pass ye over to Tarshish; howl, ye inhabitants of the isle.
7 Hlamat kum lamloh mah hmuen la he tlam a na yalpo uh? Khohla la bakuep ham a khokan te a khuen uh.
Is this your joyous [city], whose antiquity is of ancient days, whose feet carried her afar off to sojourn?
8 Tyre aka uen he unim? A thenpom aka khuem sak tih diklai aka thangpom Kanaan mangpa rhoek te ta?
Who hath purposed this against Tyre, the crowning [city], whose merchants are princes, whose traffickers are the honourable of the earth?
9 Hoemdamnah poeih pah ham, kirhang boeih neh diklai kah a thangpom boeih te thaephoei thil ham caempuei BOEIPA loh a taeng coeng.
The LORD of hosts hath purposed it, to stain the pride of all glory, to bring into contempt all the honourable of the earth.
10 Na khohmuen kah aka pam sokko bangla Tarshish nu kah haikang om voel pawh.
Pass through thy land as the Nile, O daughter of Tarshish; there is no girdle [about thee] any more.
11 A kut te tuipuei soah a thueng tih ram khaw a tlai sak. A lunghim te milh sak hamla BOEIPA loh Kanaan te a uen.
He hath stretched out his hand over the sea, he hath shaken the kingdoms: the LORD hath given commandment concerning Canaan, to destroy the strong holds thereof.
12 Te vaengah, “Sidon nu, oila aka hnaemtaek loh koep sundaep voel mahpawh. Kittim, Kittim thoo lamtah hlaikan laeh oe, namah ham pataeng na duem voel moenih te,” a ti.
And he said, Thou shalt no more rejoice, O thou oppressed virgin daughter of Zidon: arise, pass over to Kittim; even there shalt thou have no rest.
13 Khalden khohmuen aih ke, pilnam he khaw om noek pawh. Assyria loh kohong ham a suen pah. A rhalyuep im a pai sak uh dae a impuei neh a phae uh tih imrhong la a poeh sak.
Behold, the land of the Chaldeans; this people is no more; the Assyrian hath appointed it for the beasts of the wilderness: they set up their towers, they overthrew the palaces thereof; he made it a ruin.
14 Na lunghim a rhoelrhak coeng dongah Tarshish sangpho rhoek aw rhung laeh.
Howl, ye ships of Tarshish: for your strong hold is laid waste.
15 Tekah khohnin ah tah Tyre aka hmaai khaw kum sawmrhih khuiah manghai pakhat kah a tue vaengkah bangla om ni. Kum sawmrhih a thok vaengah tah Tyre taengah pumyoi laa la a poeh pah ni.
And it shall come to pass in that day, that Tyre shall be forgotten seventy years, according to the days of one king: after the end of seventy years it shall be unto Tyre as in the song of the harlot.
16 Rhotoeng te khuen lamtah a pumyoi khopuei te hil laeh. A hnilh tangtae te tluep tluep tum pah lamtah laa khaw lum saeh. Te daengah ni na poek thai eh.
Take an harp, go about the city, thou harlot that hast been forgotten; make sweet melody, sing many songs, that thou mayest be remembered.
17 Kum sawmrhih kah a bawtnah a pha vaengah BOEIPA loh Tyre te a hip ni. Te vaengah a paang te a mael pah vetih diklai hman kah diklai ram rhoek khaw boeih cukhalh uh ni.
And it shall come to pass after the end of seventy years, that the LORD will visit Tyre, and she shall return to her hire, and shall play the harlot with all the kingdoms of the world upon the face of the earth.
18 Tedae a thenpom neh a paang te BOEIPA ham a cim la om ni. Te vaengah kael pawt vetih tuung bal mahpawh. Te cakhaw BOEIPA mikhmuh kah khosa rhoek ham tah dakda then a cungnah hil a caak te a thenpomnah la om ni.
And her merchandise and her hire shall be holiness to the LORD: it shall not be treasured nor laid up; for her merchandise shall be for them that dwell before the LORD, to eat sufficiently, and for durable clothing.
