< Ezekiel 14 >

1 Israel patong rhoek khui lamkah hlang rhoek te kai taengla ha pawk uh tih ka mikhmuh ah ngol uh.
Some elders of Israel arrived and sat down with me.
2 Te vaengah BOEIPA ol te kai taengah ha pawk tih,
A message from the Lord came to me, saying,
3 “Hlang capa aw, he kah hlang rhoek he a lungbuei ah a mueirhol a khueh uh. Amamih mikhmuh ah a thaesainah hmuitoel a khueh uh. A toem ham khaw amih te ka toem aya?
“Son of man, these men are worshiping idols in their minds even though they know this will lead them to sin. Why should I respond to their requests?
4 Te dongah amih te voek lamtah amamih te thui pah. Ka Boeipa Yahovah loh he ni a thui. Hlang khaw Israel im kah hlang tah a lungbuei ah a mueirhol a khueh tih a mikhmuh ah amah kah thaesainah hmuitoel a khueh phoeiah tonghma taengla pawk. A mueirhol khuehtawn neh aka pawk te BOEIPA kamah loh ka doo ni.
So tell them that this is what the Lord God says: When the people of Israel worship idols in their minds that will lead them to sin, and then come to consult the prophet, I the Lord will give them an answer appropriate to their many idols.
Amih boeih te amamih kah mueirhol dongah ni kai taeng lamloh a kholong uh.
Like this I might have the people of Israel decide to recommit themselves to me. Right now, because of their idols, all of them treat me as their enemy.
6 Te dongah Ka Boeipa Yahovah loh a thui he Israel imkhui taengah thui pah.
So tell the people of Israel that this is what the Lord God says: Repent! Give up worshiping your idols Stop all your disgusting practices.
7 Te dongah hlang he Israel imkhui kah hlang khaw, Israel khuikah aka bakuep yinlai khaw kai te n'hai. Te dongah a lungbuei ah a mueirhol a khueh tih a mikhmuh ah amah kah thaesainah hmuitoel a khueh. Tedae anih lamloh kai he toem ham tonghma taengla pawk kai BOEIPA kamah loh anih te ka doo ni.
When the people of Israel or foreigners living with them worship idols in their minds that will lead them to sin and then come to consult the prophet, I the Lord will answer them myself.
I will oppose anyone who does this and make any example of them that others will talk about. I will remove them from among my people. Then you will know that I am the Lord.
9 Tedae tonghma te a hloih tih ol thui cakhaw te tonghma te BOEIPA kamah loh ka hloih coeng.
But if the prophet is deceived into giving a message, it was I the Lord who deceived him to do this. I will still reach out and destroy that prophet from my people Israel.
10 Amamih kah thaesainah te a phueih uh vetih thaesainah a toem uh vanbangla tonghma kah thaesainah khaw ana om saeh.
They will be responsible for the punishment they receive, as will those who believe in these prophets will receive the same punishment.
11 Te daengah ni Israel imkhui te kai hnuk lamloh khohmang voel pawt vetih a boekoek cungkuem neh koep a poeih uh pawt eh. He tah ka Boeipa Yahovah kah olphong ni,” a ti.
This is so that the people of Israel won't abandon me anymore and won't make themselves unclean with all their sins. Then they will be my people and I will be their God, declares the Lord God.”
12 BOEIPA ol te kai taengla ha pawk tih,
A message from the Lord came to me again, saying,
13 “Hlang capa aw khohmuen loh kai taengah boekoeknah la boekoek ham a tholh atah ka kut a taengah ka thueng vetih a thahuelnah buh te ka pat sak ni. A soah khokha ka tueih pah vetih a hlang neh rhamsa te ka saii ni.
“Son of man, if a people in a country sin against me by being unfaithful to me, then I will act against them by cutting off their food supply, so they experience famine, with no food for people or animals.
14 A khui ah hlang pathum, Noah, Daniel neh Job om koinih amih kah duengnah loh te rhoek kah a hinglu a huul pah khaming. He tah ka Boeipa Yahovah kah olphong ni.
Even if Noah, Daniel, and Job, these three men, were present their good lives would only save themselves, declares the Lord God.
I could send wild animals rampaging through the country, so they would leave it uninhabited and desolate, a place no one would travel through for fear of such animals.
A khui kah hlang pathum long he a capa khaw huul thai pawt vetih a canu khaw huul thai mahpawh. Amih te amamih bueng ngawn a huul uh khaming dae a, khohmuen tah khopong la om ni.
As I live, declares the Lord God, even if these three men were present, they couldn't save their own sons or daughters. They would only save themselves, but the land would be left desolate.
17 Khohmuen te cunghang ka muk thil coeng. Khohmuen te cunghang loh a paan ham ka thui dongah a hlang neh rhamsa te ka saii ni.
I could bring war to that country and say, ‘Have a sword cut through it,’ so that I destroy both people and animals.
A khui kah hlang pathum long he a capa khaw a canu a huul thai pawt atah amih loh amamih bueng khaw huul uh thae khaming.
As I live, declares the Lord God, even if these three men were present, they couldn't save their own sons or daughters. They would only save themselves.
A hlang neh rhamsa saii ham thii long ni.
I could send a disease on that country and because of my anger I would kill many, both people and animals.
20 Kai tah hingnah ni tite Boeipa Yahovah kah olphong ni. A khui kah Noah, Daniel neh Job long pataeng a canu a capa te a huul thai moenih. Amamih kah duengnah nen ni a hinglu a huul.
As I live, declares the Lord God, even if Noah, Daniel, and Job were present, they couldn't save their sons or daughters. Their good lives would only save themselves.
21 Te dongah ka Boeipa Yahovah loh he ni a thui. Ka taengkah tholhphu pali ngawn tah boethae cunghang neh khokha khaw, boethae mulhing neh duektahaw la a hlang neh rhamsa rhaih ham Jerusalem ah ka tueih.
This is what the Lord God says: It will be so much worse when I send my four severe judgments against Jerusalem—war, famine, wild animals, and disease, so that both people and animals are killed!
Amih khosing neh a khoboe rhamlang na hmuh uh coeng. Te dongah Jerusalem soah ka thoeng sak yoethae neh a soah a cungkuem la ka thoeng sak te na ko damti uh bitni.
Even so a few of them will survive, some sons and daughters who will be taken captive. They will be brought to you in Babylon, and when you realize what they did and how they acted, you will understand why I had to bring such a disaster down on Jerusalem—everything I did to it.
23 Amih kah khosing neh a khoboe rhamlang na hmuh vaengah damti uh bitni. Te vaengah a khuiah a cungkuem ka saii te lunglilungla la ka saii uh pawt khaw na ming uh ni. He tah Boeipa Yahovah kah olphong ni,” a ti.
Realizing what they did and how they acted will help you to see that I had good reasons to do everything I did to Jerusalem, declares the Lord God.”
