< Saam 124 >

1 David ih kasang laa. Aicae bangah Angraeng om ai nahaeloe, Israelnawk mah hae tiah thui o nasoe;
A song of degrees, or Psalme of David. If the Lord had not bene on our side, (may Israel now say)
2 aicae bangah Angraeng om ai nahaeloe, kaminawk loe aicae ih misa ah om o tih,
If the Lord had not bene on our side, when men rose vp against vs,
3 nihcae mah aicae han palung ang phui o thuih naah, aicae to kahing ah na paaeh o tih boeh;
They had then swallowed vs vp quicke, when their wrath was kindled against vs.
4 kalen tui mah aicae khuk khoep ueloe, aicae pakhra nuiah tui to long tih boeh;
Then the waters had drowned vs, and the streame had gone ouer our soule:
5 kamoek tuinawk loe aicae pakhra nuiah long o tih boeh.
Then had the swelling waters gone ouer our soule.
6 Nihcae mah aicae haa hoi kaek hanah paek ai, Angraeng loe tahamhoihaih om nasoe.
Praysed be the Lord, which hath not giuen vs as a praye vnto their teeth.
7 Aicae ih pakhra loe dongh patung kami ih dongh thung hoi kaloih tavaa baktiah loih o; dongh qui to apet dok moe, aicae loe a loih o.
Our soule is escaped, euen as a bird out of the snare of the foulers: the snare is broken, and we are deliuered.
8 Aicae abomhaih loe van hoi long sahkung, Angraeng ih ahmin ah ni oh.
Our helpe is in the Name of the Lord, which hath made heauen and earth.
