< 2 Samuel 5 >

1 To naah Israel acaengnawk boih Hebron vangpui ah David khaeah angzoh o moe, Khenah, Kaicae loe nang ih athii angan ah ni ka oh o.
Then came all the tribes of Israel to David to Hebron, and spoke, saying, Behold, we are thy bone and thy flesh.
2 Canghniah Saul kaicae nuiah siangpahrang ah oh naah, nang loe misatukhaih ahmuen ah Israel kaminawk zaehoikung ah na oh. To naah Angraeng mah nang khaeah, Kai ih kami Israelnawk to na pacah ueloe, nihcae zaehoikung ah na om tih, tiah ang thuih boeh, tiah a naa o.
Even aforetime, when Saul was king over us, thou wast he that leddest out and broughtest in Israel; and Jehovah said to thee, Thou shalt feed my people Israel, and thou shalt be prince over Israel.
3 Israel kacoehtanawk boih Hebron ah David khaeah angzoh o pacoengah, siangpahrang mah Hebron ah Angraeng hmaa ah nihcae hoi angdaehhaih to sak; nihcae mah David to Israel ukkung siangpahrang ah suek o.
And all the elders of Israel came to the king to Hebron; and king David made a covenant with them in Hebron before Jehovah; and they anointed David king over Israel.
4 David siangpahrang ah oh naah, saning quithumto oh boeh; anih loe saning quipalito thung sianpahrang ah oh.
David was thirty years old when he began to reign; he reigned forty years.
5 Hebron ah Judah kaminawk ukkung siangpahrang ah saning sarih, khrah tarukto oh; Jerusalem ah Israel hoi Judah kaminawk boih nuiah saning quithum, thumto thung siangpahrang ah oh.
In Hebron he reigned over Judah seven years and six months; and in Jerusalem he reigned thirty-three years over all Israel and Judah.
6 Siangpahrang mah angmah ih kaminawk to kawk moe, Jerusalem khokung, Jebus kaminawk tuk hanah caeh o; to naah nihcae mah nang loe hae vangpui thungah akun hmah; hae vangpui thungah David akun hmah nasoe, tiah mikmaeng hoi khokkhaem kaminawk mah thui o nahaeloe, anih akun han ai ah pakaa o thai tih, tiah a poek o.
And the king and his men went to Jerusalem against the Jebusites, the inhabitants of the land; and they spoke to David, saying, Thou shalt not come in hither, but the blind and the lame will drive thee back; as much as to say, David will not come in hither.
7 Toe David mah, David vangpui, tiah kawk ih vangpui kacak Zion to tuk moe, a lak.
But David took the stronghold of Zion, which is the city of David.
8 To na niah David mah, Mi kawbaktih doeh tui pakaahaih bang hoiah caeh tahang moe, David hnuma khokkhaem hoi mikmaengnawk hum kami loe, anih to misatuh ukkung ah om tih, tiah a naa. To pongah ni nihcae mah, mikmaeng hoi khokhaemnawk loe imthung ah akun o mak ai, tiah thuih o.
And David said on that day, Whoever smites the Jebusites and gets up to the watercourse, and the lame and the blind hated of David's soul...! Therefore they say, The blind and the lame shall not come into the house.
9 To pacoengah David loe misa abuephaih im ah oh, to ahmuen to David ih vangpui, tiah kawk o. Athung bang ih ataeng boih ah Millo ahmuen to a sak.
So David dwelt in the stronghold, and called it the city of David. And David built round about from the Millo and inward.
10 Misatuh kaminawk ih Angraeng Sithaw anih taengah oh pongah, anih loe len tahang aep aep.
And David became continually greater; and Jehovah the God of hosts was with him.
11 To naah Tura siangpahrang Hiram mah, David khaeah, angmah ih laicaehnawk hoi nawnto sidar thing, thing tok sah kop kaminawk, thlung im sah kop kaminawk to patoeh moe, David hanah siangpahrang im to sak pae o.
And Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and timber of cedars, and carpenters, and masons; and they built David a house.
12 To naah Angraeng mah ni kai hae Israel nuiah siangpahrang ah suek moe, angmah ih kami Israelnawk ukkung ah ohsak, tiah David mah panoek.
And David perceived that Jehovah had established him king over Israel, and that he had exalted his kingdom because of his people Israel.
13 Hebron vangpui caehtaak pacoengah, David loe Jerusalem ah angmah hanah kapop parai zula hoi zunawk to a lak; capanawk hoi canunawk doeh a sak mangh.
And David took him more concubines and wives out of Jerusalem, after he had come from Hebron; and there were yet sons and daughters born to David.
14 Jerusalem ah oh naah a sak ih a caanawk ih ahmin loe, Shammua, Shobab, Nathan, Solomon,
And these are the names of those that were born to him in Jerusalem: Shammua, and Shobab, and Nathan, and Solomon,
15 Ibhar, Elishua, Nepheg, Japhia,
and Ibhar, and Elishua, and Nepheg, and Japhia,
16 Elishama, Eliada hoi Eliphalet.
and Elishama, and Eliada, and Eliphelet.
17 David Israel kaminawk ukkung siangpahrang ah situi bawh o boeh, tiah Philistin kaminawk mah thaih o naah, David pakrong hanah angzoh o; to kawng to David mah thaih naah, misa abuephaih im ah caeh tathuk.
And the Philistines heard that they had anointed David king over Israel, and all the Philistines went up to seek David; and David heard [of it], and went down to the stronghold.
18 To naah Philistinnawk angzoh o moe, Rephaim tangtling ah atai o.
And the Philistines came and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.
19 To naah David mah Angraeng khaeah, Philistin kaminawk tuk hanah ka caeh tahang han maw? Nihcae to ka ban ah nang paek han maw? tiah a dueng. Angraeng mah anih khaeah, Caeh tahang ah, Philistinnawk to na ban ah kang paek tangtang han, tiah a naa.
And David inquired of Jehovah, saying, Shall I go up against the Philistines? wilt thou give them into my hand? And Jehovah said to David, Go up; for I will certainly give the Philistines into thy hand.
20 To pongah David loe Baal-Perazim ah caeh moe, to ah nihcae to tuk pazawk boih; David mah, Kangthawk tui mah tanawt ih baktih toengah, Angraeng mah ka hmaa ah misanawk to ang hum pae, tiah thuih. To pongah to ahmuen to Baal-Perazim, tiah a sak.
And David came to Baal-perazim, and David smote them there; and he said, Jehovah has broken in upon mine enemies before me, as the breaking forth of waters. Therefore he called the name of that place Baal-perazim.
21 Philsitinnawk mah to ahmuen ah caeh o taak ih krangnawk to, David hoi angmah ih kaminawk mah hmai hoiah qoeng pae o.
And they left their images there, and David and his men took them away.
22 Philistinnawk angzoh o let moe, Rephaim tangtling ah atai o let.
And the Philistines came up yet again, and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.
23 To pongah David mah Angraeng khaeah dueng let naah, Angraeng mah nihcae khaeah katoeng ah caeh o hmah; nihcae to hnukbang hoiah takui oh loe, langkawk pacahhaih berry thing hmabang hoiah tuh oh.
And David inquired of Jehovah; and he said, Thou shalt not go up; turn round behind them and come upon them opposite the mulberry-trees.
24 Langkawk rawkcak ah patoh ih berry thingkung ranui ah kacaeh misatuh kaminawk ih lok to na thaih o naah, karangah caeh oh; to naah Angraeng to na hmaa ah caeh ueloe, Philistin misatuh kaminawk to tuh tih, tiah a naa.
And it shall be, when thou hearest a sound of marching in the tops of the mulberry-trees, that then thou shalt bestir thyself; for then will Jehovah have gone forth before thee, to smite the army of the Philistines.
25 Angraeng mah thuih pae ih baktih toengah David mah sak; Philistinnawk to Geba hoi Gazer karoek to anih mah tuk pazawk.
And David did so, as Jehovah had commanded him; and smote the Philistines from Geba until thou comest to Gezer.
