1 Josiah siangpahrang ah oh naah saning tazetto ni oh vop; anih mah Jerusalem to saning quithumto pacoeng, saningto uk. Anih ih amno loe Boskath ah kaom Adaiah canu, Jedidah.

Josiah was eight years old when he began to reign, and he reigned thirty and one years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Jedidah, the daughter of Adaiah of Boscath.

2 Anih loe Angraeng mikhnukah kahoih hmuen to sak; anih loe ampa David ih loklam to pazui moe, banqoi bantang amkhraeng taak ai.

And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, and walked in all the way of David his father, and turned not aside to the right hand or to the left.

3 Siangpahrang ah ohhaih saning hatlai tazetto naah, Josiah siangpahrang mah Meshullam capa Azaliah, Azaliah capa, ca tarik kami, Shaphan to Angraeng im ah patoeh moe, anih khaeah,

And it came to pass in the eighteenth year of king Josiah, that the king sent Shaphan the son of Azaliah, the son of Meshullam, the scribe, to the house of the LORD, saying,

4 qaima Hilkiah khaeah caeh tahangh loe, Angraeng ih im ah sin o ih phoisa hoi khongkha toep kaminawk mah minawk khaeah cong o ih phoisa to kroek ah;

Go up to Hilkiah the high priest, that he may sum the silver which is brought into the house of the LORD, which the keepers of the door have gathered of the people:

5 to phoisanawk to im toksah kaminawk hoi im khawngkungnawk khaeah paek o nasoe; kamro Angraeng im pakhraih hanah, Angraeng im ah toksah kaminawk hanah paek o nasoe.

And let them deliver it into the hand of the doers of the work, that have the oversight of the house of the LORD: and let them give it to the doers of the work which is in the house of the LORD, to repair the breaches of the house,

6 Thing tok sah thaih kaminawk, im sah kop kaminawk hoi param long sui kop kaminawk to paek o nasoe loe, im pakhraih hanah thing hoi aah tangcae thlungnawk qan hanah paek o nasoe, tiah a naa.

Unto carpenters, and builders, and stone workers, and to buy timber and hewn stone to repair the house.

7 Toe phoisa patung kaminawk loe oepthoh pongah, kroek han angaih ai.

Nevertheless there was no reckoning made with them of the money that was delivered into their hand, because they dealt faithfully.

8 Qaima Hilkiah mah ca tarik kami, Shaphan khaeah, Angraeng ih tempul thungah Kaalok cabu ka hnuk, tiah a naa. Hilkiah mah cabu to Shaphan khaeah paek moe, anih mah kroek.

And Hilkiah the high priest said unto Shaphan the scribe, I have found the book of the law in the house of the LORD. And Hilkiah gave the book to Shaphan, and he read it.

9 Ca tarikkung, Shaphan loe siangpahrang khaeah caeh moe, Na tamnanawk mah Angraeng imthung ah hnuk o ih phoisa kroek o pacoengah, im khenzawn kami hoi toksah kaminawk khaeah suek o boeh, tiah a naa.

And Shaphan the scribe came to the king, and brought the king word again, and said, Your servants have gathered the money that was found in the house, and have delivered it into the hand of them that do the work, that have the oversight of the house of the LORD.

10 Ca tarikkung, Shaphan mah siangpahrang khaeah, Qaima Hilkiah mah cabu maeto ang paek, tiah a naa. Siangpahrang khaeah patuek, Shaphan mah siangpahrang hmaa ah cabu to kroek pae.

And Shaphan the scribe showed the king, saying, Hilkiah the priest has delivered me a book. And Shaphan read it before the king.

11 Kaalok cabu thung ih loknawk to siangpahrang mah thaih naah, angmah ih khukbuen to asih.

And it came to pass, when the king had heard the words of the book of the law, that he rent his clothes.

12 Siangpahrang mah qaima Hilkiah, Shaphan capa Ahikam, Mikaiah capa Akbor, ca tarikkung, Shaphan hoi siangpahrang ih tamna Asahiah khaeah,

And the king commanded Hilkiah the priest, and Ahikam the son of Shaphan, and Achbor the son of Michaiah, and Shaphan the scribe, and Asahiah a servant of the king's, saying,

13 hnuk ih Kaalok cabu kawng pongah, caeh oh loe, kaimah hoi kaimah ih kaminawk, Judah kaminawk boih hanah, Angraeng khaeah lokdueng oh; hae cabu thungah aicae han tarik ih loknawk hae ampanawk mah tahngai o ai, cabu thungah tarik ih lok baktiah pazui o ai pongah ni, Angraeng palungphuihaih aicae nuiah krak, tiah a naa.

Go all of you, enquire of the LORD for me, and for the people, and for all Judah, concerning the words of this book that is found: for great is the wrath of the LORD that is kindled against us, because our fathers have not hearkened unto the words of this book, to do according unto all that which is written concerning us.

14 To nathuem ah Harhas capa Tikvah, Tikvah capa Shalum ih zu, tahmaa nongpata Huldah loe, kahni khenzawnkung ah oh moe, Jerusalem vangpui ah oh; qaima Hilkiah, Ahikam, Akbor, Shaphan hoi Asahiah cae loe anih khaeah caeh o moe, anih hoi nawnto lok aram o.

So Hilkiah the priest, and Ahikam, and Achbor, and Shaphan, and Asahiah, went unto Huldah the prophetess, the wife of Shallum the son of Tikvah, the son of Harhas, keeper of the wardrobe; (now she dwelt in Jerusalem in the college; ) and they communed with her.

15 Tahmaa nongpata mah nihcae khaeah, Israel Angraeng Sithaw mah, hae tiah thuih; kai khaeah patoeh ih kaminawk khaeah,

And she said unto them, Thus says the LORD God of Israel, Tell the man that sent you to me,

16 Angraeng mah, Khenah, Judah siangpahrang mah kroek ih cabu thungah tarik ih lok baktih toengah, kai mah hae ahmuen ah amrohaih ka phaksak han;

Thus says the LORD, Behold, I will bring evil upon this place, and upon the inhabitants thereof, even all the words of the book which the king of Judah has read:

17 nihcae mah kai ang pahnawt o moe, kalah sithawnawk khaeah hmuihoih to thlaek o; angmacae ban hoi sak ih krangnawk hoiah kai palung ang phui o sak pongah, hae ahmuen loe palung ka phuihaih hmai mah kangh tih, paduek thaih mak ai boeh, tiah thuih.

Because they have forsaken me, and have burned incense unto other gods, that they might provoke me to anger with all the works of their hands; therefore my wrath shall be kindled against this place, and shall not be quenched.

18 Angraeng lokdueng hanah nangcae patoehkung, Judah siangpahrang khaeah, Israel Angraeng Sithaw mah, Na thaih o ih lok pongah hae tiah thuih;

But to the king of Judah which sent you to enquire of the LORD, thus shall all of you say to him, Thus says the LORD God of Israel, As concerning the words which you have heard;

19 hae ahmuen ih kaminawk loe amrohaih hoi kasae thuihaih ah om o tih, tiah hae ahmuen hoi hae ah kaom kaminawk mah ka lok to thaih o naah, palungthin amnaeng o sak moe, Angraeng hmaa ah poeknaemhaih hoiah oh o, angmacae ih khukbuen asihhaih hoiah ka hmaa ah qah o pongah, na lok to ka tahngaih, tiah Angraeng mah thuih, tiah thui pae oh.

Because your heart was tender, and you have humbled yourself before the LORD, when you heard what I spoke against this place, and against the inhabitants thereof, that they should become a desolation and a curse, and have rent your clothes, and wept before me; I also have heard you, says the LORD.

20 To pongah, khenah, kai mah nam panawk khaeah kang pakuem pongah, nang loe taprong ah kamongah na phum o tih; hae ahmuen ah ka phaksak han ih amrohaih loe na mik hoiah na hnu mak ai, tiah a naa. Nihcae mah lok to siangpahrang khaeah sinh pae o let.

Behold therefore, I will gather you unto your fathers, and you shall be gathered into your grave in peace; and your eyes shall not see all the evil which I will bring upon this place. And they brought the king word again.
