1 Pali mgodi wa siliva ndiponso malo oyengerapo golide.
“Surely there is a mine for silver, and a place for gold which they refine.
2 Chitsulo amachikumba pansi, ndipo mkuwa amawusungunula ku miyala yamkuwa.
Iron is taken out of the earth, and copper is smelted out of the ore.
3 Munthu amalowa mu mdima atatenga nyale, amafunafuna miyala mpaka ku malire a mgodiwo, kufuna mkuwa mu mdima wandiweyani.
Man sets an end to darkness, and searches out, to the furthest bound, the stones of obscurity and of thick darkness.
4 Amakumba njira zapansi mu mgodimo, kutali ndi kumene kumakhala anthu, kumalo kumene phazi la munthu silinapondeko; iye amakhala ali lende pansipo namazungulira uku ndi uku.
He breaks open a shaft away from where people live. They are forgotten by the foot. They hang far from men, they swing back and forth.
5 Nthaka, imene imatulutsa zakudya, kunsi kwake kumachita ngati kwasandulizika ndi moto;
As for the earth, out of it comes bread. Underneath it is turned up as it were by fire.
6 miyala ya safiro imachokera mʼmatanthwe ake, ndipo mʼfumbi lake mumakhala miyala yagolide.
Sapphires come from its rocks. It has dust of gold.
7 Palibe mbalame yodya zinzake imene imadziwa njira yobisikayi, palibe kamtema amene anayiona.
That path no bird of prey knows, neither has the falcon’s eye seen it.
8 Zirombo zolusa sizipondamo mʼnjiramo, ndipo mkango sudzeranso mʼmenemo.
The proud animals have not trodden it, nor has the fierce lion passed by there.
9 Munthu amaphwanya matanthwe olimba, ndipo amagubuduza mapiri kuyambira mʼtsinde.
He puts his hand on the flinty rock, and he overturns the mountains by the roots.
10 Amabowola njira mʼmatanthwewo; ndipo amaona chuma chonse cha mʼphirimo.
He cuts out channels among the rocks. His eye sees every precious thing.
11 Amaletsa mitsinje ya pansipo kuti isayendenso, motero amatulutsira poyera zinthu zobisika.
He binds the streams that they don’t trickle. The thing that is hidden he brings out to light.
12 “Koma nzeru zingapezeke kuti? Kodi kumvetsa zinthu kumakhala kuti?
“But where will wisdom be found? Where is the place of understanding?
13 Munthu sadziwa kufunika kwake kwa nzeruzo; nzeruyo sipezeka pa dziko lino la anthu amoyo.
Man doesn’t know its price, and it isn’t found in the land of the living.
14 Phompho likuti, ‘Sizipezeka mwa ine muno.’ Nyanja ikuti, ‘Mwa ine munonso ayi.’
The deep says, ‘It isn’t in me.’ The sea says, ‘It isn’t with me.’
15 Nzeru sungazigule ndi golide wabwino kwambiri, mtengo wake sungawuyerekeze ndi siliva wambiri.
It can’t be gotten for gold, neither will silver be weighed for its price.
16 Nzeru singagulidwe ndi golide wa ku Ofiri, kapena ndi miyala ya onikisi kapena ya safiro.
It can’t be valued with the gold of Ophir, with the precious onyx, or the sapphire.
17 Nzeru sungayiyerekeze ndi golide kapena mwala wa galasi, sungayigule ndi zokometsera zagolide.
Gold and glass can’t equal it, neither will it be exchanged for jewels of fine gold.
18 Miyala ya korali ndi krisitali siyoyeneranso ndi kuyitchula nʼkomwe; mtengo wa nzeru ndi woposa miyala ya rubi.
No mention will be made of coral or of crystal. Yes, the price of wisdom is above rubies.
19 Nzeru sungayiyerekeze ndi miyala ya topazi ya ku Kusi; nzeru singagulidwe ndi golide wabwino kwambiri.
The topaz of Ethiopia will not equal it. It won’t be valued with pure gold.
20 “Kodi tsono nzeru zimachokera kuti? Kodi kumvetsa zinthu kumakhala kuti?
Where then does wisdom come from? Where is the place of understanding?
21 Malo ake ndi obisika kwa zamoyo zonse, ndi obisika ngakhale kwa mbalame zamlengalenga.
Seeing it is hidden from the eyes of all living, and kept close from the birds of the sky.
22 Chiwonongeko ndi imfa zikuti, ‘Tangomva mphekesera chabe ya zimenezo!’
Destruction and Death say, ‘We have heard a rumor of it with our ears.’
23 Mulungu yekha ndiye amadziwa njira yake yopita kumeneko, ndipo Iye yekha amadziwa kumene nzeru imakhala,
“God understands its way, and he knows its place.
24 pakuti Iye amayangʼana mpaka ku malekezero a dziko lapansi ndipo amaona zonse za kunsi kwa thambo.
For he looks to the ends of the earth, and sees under the whole sky.
25 Iye atapatsa mphepo mphamvu zake, nayeza kuzama kwa nyanja,
He establishes the force of the wind. Yes, he measures out the waters by measure.
26 atakhazikitsa lamulo loti mvula izigwa ndi kukonza njira ya chingʼaningʼani cha bingu,
When he made a decree for the rain, and a way for the lightning of the thunder,
27 pamenepo ndi pamene anayangʼana nzeruzo naziyeza mtengo wake; nazikhazikitsa ndi kuzisanthula bwino lomwe.
then he saw it, and declared it. He established it, yes, and searched it out.
28 Ndipo Iye anati kwa munthu, ‘Taonani, kuopa Ambuye, ndiye nzeru zimenezo ndipo kuthawa zoyipa ndiye kumvetsa zinthu kumeneko.’”
To man he said, ‘Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom. To depart from evil is understanding.’”
