যিরমিয়ের বই 25

1 যিহূদার রাজা যোশিয়ের পুত্র যিহোয়াকীমের রাজত্বের চতুর্থ বছরে, অর্থাৎ ব্যাবিলনের রাজা নেবুখাদনেজারের রাজত্বের প্রথম বছরে, যিহূদার লোকদের জন্য সদাপ্রভুর বাক্য যিরমিয়ের কাছে উপস্থিত হল।

The word that has been to Jeremiah concerning all the people of Judah, in the fourth year of Jehoiakim son of Josiah king of Judah—it [is] the first year of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon—

2 তাই ভাববাদী যিরমিয় যিহূদার সব লোকের কাছে এবং জেরুশালেমে বসবাসকারী সকলের কাছে এই কথা বললেন:

Which Jeremiah the prophet has spoken concerning all the people of Judah, even to all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, saying,

3 যিহূদার রাজা আমোনের পুত্র যোশিয়ের রাজত্বের তেরোতম বছর থেকে আজ পর্যন্ত, এই তেইশ বছর, সদাপ্রভুর বাক্য আমার কাছে উপস্থিত হয়েছে এবং আমি বারবার তোমাদের সঙ্গে কথা বলেছি, কিন্তু তোমরা তা শোনোনি।

“From the thirteenth year of Josiah son of Amon king of Judah, and to this day—this twenty-third year—the word of YHWH has been to me, and I speak to you, rising early and speaking, and you have not listened;

4 আর সদাপ্রভু যদিও তাঁর দাস ভাববাদীদের বারবার তোমাদের কাছে প্রেরণ করেছেন, তোমরা কিন্তু তাদের কথা শোনোনি বা তাতে মনোযোগও দাওনি।

and YHWH has sent all His servants to you, the prophets, rising early and sending, and you have not listened, nor inclined your ear to hear, saying,

5 তারা বলেছিলেন, “তোমাদের প্রত্যেকে এখন তোমাদের মন্দ পথ থেকে ও তোমাদের মন্দ সব অভ্যাস থেকে ফেরো, তাহলে সদাপ্রভু তোমাদের ও তোমাদের পিতৃপুরুষদের এই যে দেশ দিয়েছেন, তার মধ্যে তোমরা চিরকাল বসবাস করতে পারবে।

Please turn back, each from his evil way, and from the evil of your doings, and dwell on the ground that YHWH has given to you and to your fathers from age to age,

6 অন্য দেবদেবীর অনুসারী হয়ে তোমরা তাদের সেবা ও উপাসনা করবে না। তোমাদের হাতের তৈরি সব দেবমূর্তি দিয়ে আমার ক্রোধ উত্তেজিত কোরো না। তাহলে আমি তোমাদের কোনো ক্ষতি করব না।”

and you do not go after other gods to serve them, and to bow yourselves to them, nor do you provoke Me to anger with the work of your hands, and I do no evil to you;

7 সদাপ্রভু বলেন, “তোমরা কিন্তু আমার কথা শোনোনি এবং তোমাদের হাতে তৈরি ওইসব বিগ্রহের দ্বারা তোমরা আমার ক্রোধ জাগিয়ে তুলেছ। এভাবে তোমরা নিজেরাই নিজেদের ক্ষতিসাধন করেছ।”

and you have not listened to Me,” a declaration of YHWH, “so as to provoke Me to anger with the work of your hands for evil to you.

8 সেই কারণে, বাহিনীগণের সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন: “তোমরা যেহেতু আমার কথা শোনোনি,

Therefore, thus said YHWH of Hosts: Because that you have not obeyed My words,

9 আমি উত্তর দিকের সমস্ত জাতিকে ও আমার দাস, ব্যাবিলনের রাজা নেবুখাদনেজারকে ডেকে পাঠাব,” একথা সদাপ্রভু বলেন। “আমি এই দেশ ও এর অধিবাসীদের এবং এর চারপাশের সব জাতির বিরুদ্ধে তাদের নিয়ে আসব। আমি তাদের সম্পূর্ণরূপে ধ্বংস করব। আমি তাদের বিভীষিকা ও নিন্দার পাত্র করব। তারা চিরকালের জন্য ধ্বংস হবে।

behold, I am sending, and have taken all the families of the north—a declaration of YHWH—even to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, My servant, and have brought them in against this land, and against its inhabitants, and against all these surrounding nations, and have devoted them, and appointed them for an astonishment, and for a hissing, and for continuous ruins.

10 আমি তাদের মধ্য থেকে আমোদ ও আনন্দের রব, বর ও কনের আনন্দরব নিবৃত্ত করব। সেখানে জাঁতার শব্দ আর শোনা যাবে না এবং তাদের গৃহের সমস্ত প্রদীপ আমি নিভিয়ে ফেলব।

And I have destroyed from them the voice of rejoicing, and the voice of joy, voice of bridegroom and voice of bride, noise of millstones, and the light of lamps.

11 সমস্ত দেশই এক জনশূন্য পতিত ভূমি হয়ে যাবে, আর এই জাতিগুলি সত্তর বছর ধরে ব্যাবিলনের রাজার দাসত্ব করবে।

And all this land has been for a desolation, for an astonishment, and these nations have served the king of Babylon seventy years.

12 “কিন্তু সেই সত্তর বছর সম্পূর্ণ হলে পর, আমি ব্যাবিলনের রাজা ও তার জাতি এবং ব্যাবিলনীয়দের দেশকে তাদের অপরাধের জন্য শাস্তি দেব,” সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন, “এবং চিরকালের জন্য তা জনমানবহীন স্থানে পরিণত করব।

And it has come to pass, at the fullness of seventy years, I charge against the king of Babylon, and against that nation,” a declaration of YHWH, “their iniquity, and against the land of the Chaldeans, and have appointed it for continuous desolations.

13 আমি সেই দেশের বিরুদ্ধে যে সমস্ত অভিশাপের কথা বলেছি, যে কথাগুলি এই পুস্তকে লিখিত হয়েছে এবং সব জাতির বিরুদ্ধে যিরমিয় যে সকল ভাববাণী করেছে, সেই সমস্তই তাদের উপরে নিয়ে আসব।

And I have brought in on that land all My words that I have spoken against it, all that is written in this scroll, that Jeremiah has prophesied concerning all the nations.

14 তারা নিজেরাই বহু জাতি ও মহান রাজাদের দাসত্ব করবে; তাদের সমস্ত কাজ ও তাদের হাত যা করেছে, সেই অনুযায়ী আমি তাদের প্রতিফল দেব।”

For laid service on them—also them—have many nations and great kings, and I have given repayment to them according to their doing, and according to the work of their hands.”

15 ইস্রায়েলের ঈশ্বর, সদাপ্রভু আমাকে এই কথা বললেন: “তুমি আমার হাত থেকে আমার ক্রোধের দ্রাক্ষারসে পূর্ণ এই পেয়ালা নাও এবং আমি যে জাতিদের কাছে তোমাকে পাঠাই, তুমি তা থেকে তাদের পান করাও।

For thus said YHWH, God of Israel, to me: “Take the wine cup of this fury out of My hand, and you have caused all the nations to drink it to whom I am sending you;

16 তা থেকে পান করলে পর তারা টলমল করবে এবং তাদের মধ্যে আমি যে তরোয়াল প্রেরণ করব, তার দরুন তারা উন্মাদ হয়ে যাবে।”

and they have drunk, and shaken themselves and shown themselves [to be] foolish, because of the sword that I am sending among them.”

17 তাই আমি সদাপ্রভুর হাত থেকে সেই পানপাত্র নিলাম এবং যাদের কাছে তিনি আমাকে প্রেরণ করেছিলেন, সেই সমস্ত জাতিকে তা পান করালাম।

And I take the cup out of the hand of YHWH, and cause all the nations to drink to whom YHWH sent me:

18 জেরুশালেম ও যিহূদার সব নগর, তার রাজাদের ও রাজকর্মচারীদের, যেন তারা আজও যেমন আছে, সেইরকম বিভীষিকা ও নিন্দা ও অভিশাপের পাত্র হয়;

Jerusalem, and the cities of Judah, And its kings, its heads, To give them to ruin, to astonishment, To hissing, and to reviling, as [at] this day;

19 মিশরের রাজা ফরৌণকে, তাঁর পরিচারকদের ও রাজকর্মচারীদের ও তাঁর সমস্ত প্রজাকে,

Pharaoh king of Egypt, and his servants, And his heads, and all his people,

20 আর যে সমস্ত বিদেশি সেখানে বসবাস করে; ঊষ দেশের সব রাজাকে; ফিলিস্তিনী সব রাজাকে (অর্থাৎ অস্কিলোন, গাজা, ইক্রোণ এবং অস্‌দোদের অবশিষ্ট পরিত্যক্ত লোকদের);

And all the mixed people, And all the kings of the land of Uz, And all the kings of the land of the Philistines, And Ashkelon, and Gaza, and Ekron, And the remnant of Ashdod,

21 ইদোম, মোয়াব ও অম্মোনকে;

Edom, and Moab, and the sons of Ammon,

22 সোর ও সীদোনের সব রাজাকে; সমুদ্র-উপকূল বরাবর সমস্ত রাজাকে;

And all the kings of Tyre, And all the kings of Sidon, And the kings of the island that [is] beyond the sea,

23 দদান, টেমা, বূষ ও দূরবর্তী স্থানের লোককে;

Dedan, and Tema, and Buz, And all cutting the corners [of the beard],

24 আরবের সমস্ত রাজা এবং প্রান্তের দেশগুলিতে বসবাসকারী বিদেশিদের সব রাজাকে

And all the kings of Arabia, And all the kings of the mixed people, Who are dwelling in the wilderness,

25 সিম্রি, এলম ও মাদীয় সব রাজাকে;

And all the kings of Zimri, And all the kings of Elam, And all the kings of Media,

26 দূরে ও নিকটে স্থিত উত্তর দিকের সব রাজাকে এবং ভূপৃষ্ঠের উপরে স্থিত সমস্ত রাজ্যকে, একের পর অন্য একজনকে পান করালাম। তাদের সবার পান করার পর শেশকের রাজাকেও তা পান করতে হবে।

And all the kings of the north, The near and the far off to one another, And all the kingdoms of the earth, That [are] on the face of the ground, And King Sheshach drinks after them.

27 “তারপর তুমি তাদের বোলো, ‘বাহিনীগণের সদাপ্রভু, ইস্রায়েলের ঈশ্বর এই কথা বলেন: পান করো, মত্ত হও ও বমি করো। আর আমি যে বিপক্ষের তরোয়াল প্রেরণ করব, তার জন্য পতিত হও, আর উঠো না।’

“And you have said to them, Thus said YHWH of Hosts, God of Israel: Drink, indeed drink abundantly, And vomit, and fall, and do not rise, Because of the sword that I am sending among you.

28 কিন্তু তারা যদি তোমার হাত থেকে ওই পানপাত্র নিয়ে পান করতে না চায়, তাদের বোলো, ‘বাহিনীগণের সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন: তোমাদের অবশ্যই পান করতে হবে!

And it has come to pass, When they refuse to receive the cup out of your hand to drink, That you have said to them, Thus said YHWH of Hosts: You certainly drink.

29 দেখো আমার নামে আখ্যাত এই নগরের উপরে আমার বিপর্যয় নিয়ে আসা শুরু করলাম, আর তোমরা কি প্রকৃতই অদণ্ডিত থাকবে? না, তোমরা অদণ্ডিত থাকবে না, কারণ পৃথিবীনিবাসী সকলের উপরে আমি এক তরোয়াল আহ্বান করেছি, বাহিনীগণের সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন।’

For behold, in the city over which My Name is called, I am beginning to bring ruin, And are you entirely acquitted? You are not acquitted, for I am proclaiming a sword, For all inhabitants of the land,” A declaration of YHWH of Hosts.

30 “এখন তাদের বিরুদ্ধে এই ভাববাণী করো এবং তাদের বলো: “‘সদাপ্রভু ঊর্ধ্ব থেকে গর্জন করবেন; তাঁর পবিত্র বাসস্থান থেকে তিনি বজ্রধ্বনি করবেন এবং তাঁর দেশের বিরুদ্ধে প্রবল গর্জন করবেন। তিনি দ্রাক্ষাপেষণকারীদের মতো চিৎকার করবেন, পৃথিবীনিবাসী সকলের বিরুদ্ধে চিৎকার করবেন।

“And you, you prophesy all these words to them, and have said to them: YHWH roars from the high place, And gives forth His voice from His holy habitation, He surely roars for His habitation, A shout as those treading [the grapes], God answers all the inhabitants of the land,

31 সেই কলরব পৃথিবীর প্রান্তসীমা পর্যন্ত প্রতিধ্বনিত হবে, কারণ সদাপ্রভু সব জাতির বিরুদ্ধে অভিযোগ আনবেন; তিনি সব জাতির বিচার করবেন এবং দুষ্টদের তরোয়ালের মুখে ফেলবেন,’” সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন।

A rumbling has come to the end of the earth, For YHWH has a controversy with nations, He has executed judgment for all flesh, He has given the wicked to the sword,” A declaration of YHWH.

32 বাহিনীগণের সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন: “দেখো! এক জাতি থেকে অন্য জাতির উপরে বিপর্যয় ছড়িয়ে পড়ছে; পৃথিবীর প্রান্তসীমা থেকে উঠে আসছে এক শক্তিশালী ঝড়।”

Thus said YHWH of Hosts: “Behold, evil is going out from nation to nation, And a great whirlwind is stirred up from the sides of the earth.

33 সেই সময়ে সদাপ্রভুর দ্বারা নিহতেরা, পৃথিবীর এক প্রান্ত থেকে অন্য প্রান্ত পর্যন্ত, সর্বত্র পড়ে থাকবে। তাদের জন্য শোক করা হবে না বা তাদের সংগ্রহ করে কবর দেওয়া হবে না, কিন্তু মাটিতে পতিত আবর্জনার মতো তারা পড়ে থাকবে।

And the pierced of YHWH have been in that day, From the end of the earth even to the end of the earth, They are not lamented, nor gathered, nor buried, For they are dung on the face of the ground.

34 হে পালকেরা, তোমরা কাঁদো ও বিলাপ করো; পালের নেতারা, তোমরা ধুলোয় গড়াগড়ি দাও। কারণ তোমাদের হত্যা করার সময় এসে পড়েছে; তোমরা পড়ে চুরমার হওয়া কোনো সুন্দর পাত্রের মতো চারদিকে পড়ে থাকবে।

Howl, you shepherds, and cry, And roll yourselves, you majestic of the flock, For your days have been full For slaughtering, and [for] your scatterings, And you have fallen as a desirable vessel.

35 পালকদের পালানোর কোনো স্থান থাকবে না, পালের নেতাদের পালানোর কোনো জায়গা থাকবে না।

And refuge has perished from the shepherds, And escape from the majestic of the flock.

36 ওই পালকদের কান্নার রব শোনো, পালের নেতাদের বিলাপের রব শোনো, কারণ সদাপ্রভু তাদের পালের চারণভূমি ধ্বংস করছেন।

A voice of the cry of the shepherds, And a howling of the majestic of the flock, For YHWH is spoiling their pasture.

37 সদাপ্রভুর প্রচণ্ড ক্রোধের জন্য শান্তিপূর্ণ পশুচারণভূমিগুলি পরিত্যক্ত পড়ে থাকবে।

And the peaceable habitations have been cut down, Because of the fierceness of the anger of YHWH.

38 অত্যাচারীদের তরোয়ালের জন্য হে সদাপ্রভুর প্রচণ্ড ক্রোধের জন্য, সিংহের মতোই তিনি তাঁর আবাস ত্যাগ করে আসবেন, তাদের দেশ জনশূন্য পড়ে থাকবে।

He has forsaken His covert as a young lion, Surely their land has become a desolation, Because of the oppressing fierceness, And because of the fierceness of His anger!”
