আদিপুস্তক 12
1 সদাপ্রভু অব্রামকে বললেন, “তোমার দেশ, তোমার আত্মীয়স্বজন ও তোমার পৈত্রিক পরিবার ছেড়ে সেই দেশে চলে যাও, যা আমি তোমাকে দেখাতে চলেছি।
For the Lord had said vnto Abram, Get thee out of thy countrey, and from thy kindred, and from thy fathers house vnto the land that I will shewe thee.
2 “আমি তোমাকে এক মহাজাতিতে পরিণত করব, আর আমি তোমাকে আশীর্বাদ করব; আমি তোমার নাম মহান করে তুলব, আর তুমি এক আশীর্বাদ হবে।
And I will make of thee a great nation, and will blesse thee, and make thy name great, and thou shalt be a blessing.
3 যারা তোমাকে আশীর্বাদ করবে, আমি তাদের আশীর্বাদ করব, আর যারা তোমাকে অভিশাপ দেবে, আমি তাদের অভিশাপ দেব; আর পৃথিবীর সব লোকজন তোমার মাধ্যমে আশীর্বাদ লাভ করবে।”
I will also blesse them that blesse thee, and curse them that curse thee, and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
4 অতএব সদাপ্রভুর কথামতো অব্রাম চলে গেলেন; এবং লোট তাঁর সাথে গেলেন। 75 বছর বয়সে অব্রাম হারণ ছেড়ে বেরিয়ে এলেন।
So Abram departed, euen as ye Lord spake vnto him, and Lot went with him. (And Abram was seuentie and fiue yeere olde, when he departed out of Haran)
5 তিনি তাঁর স্ত্রী সারী, ভাইপো লোট, ও হারণে উপার্জিত সব বিষয়সম্পত্তি ও অর্জিত লোকজন সাথে নিয়ে কনান দেশের উদ্দেশে যাত্রা শুরু করে সেখানে পৌঁছে গেলেন।
Then Abram tooke Sarai his wife, and Lot his brothers sonne, and all their substance that they possessed, and the soules that they had gotten in Haran, and they departed, to goe to the land of Canaan: and to the land of Canaan they came.
6 অব্রাম সেই দেশের মধ্য দিয়ে ভ্রমণ করে শিখিমে মোরির সেই বিশাল গাছটির কাছে পৌঁছে গেলেন। সেই সময় কনানীয়েরা সেই দেশে বসবাস করত।
So Abram passed through the land vnto the place of Shechem, and vnto the plaine of Moreh (and the Canaanite was then in ye land)
7 সদাপ্রভু অব্রামকে দর্শন দিয়ে বললেন, “তোমার সন্তানসন্ততিকে আমি এই দেশ দেব।” তাই তিনি সেখানে সেই সদাপ্রভুর উদ্দেশে এক যজ্ঞবেদি নির্মাণ করলেন, যিনি তাঁকে দর্শন দিয়েছিলেন।
And the Lord appeared vnto Abram, and said, Vnto thy seede will I giue this land. And there builded he an altar vnto the Lord, which appeared vnto him.
8 সেখান থেকে তিনি বেথেলের পূর্বদিকে অবস্থিত পাহাড়ের দিকে চলে গেলেন এবং বেথেলকে পশ্চিমদিকে ও অয়কে পূর্বদিকে রেখে তিনি তাঁর তাঁবু খাটালেন। সেখানে তিনি সদাপ্রভুর উদ্দেশে একটি যজ্ঞবেদি নির্মাণ করলেন এবং সদাপ্রভুর আরাধনা করলেন।
Afterward remouing thence vnto a moutaine Eastward from Beth-el, he pitched his tent hauing Beth-el on the Westside, and Haai on the East: and there he built an altar vnto the Lord, and called on the Name of the Lord.
9 পরে অব্রাম যাত্রা শুরু করে নেগেভের দিকে এগিয়ে গেলেন।
Againe Abram went forth going and iourneying toward the South.
10 এদিকে সেই দেশে এক দুর্ভিক্ষ হল, এবং অব্রাম মিশরে কিছুদিন বসবাস করার জন্য সেখানে নেমে গেলেন, কারণ দুর্ভিক্ষটি বেশ দুঃসহ হল।
Then there came a famine in the land: therefore Abram went downe into Egypt to soiourne there: for there was a great famine in the lande.
11 মিশরে প্রবেশ করার ঠিক আগে তিনি তাঁর স্ত্রী সারীকে বললেন, “আমি জানি তুমি খুব সুন্দরী।
And when he drewe neere to enter into Egypt, he said to Sarai his wife, Beholde nowe, I know that thou art a faire woman to looke vpon:
12 মিশরীয়রা যখন তোমায় দেখে বলবে, ‘এ তো এই লোকটির স্ত্রী।’ তখন তারা আমায় হত্যা করবে কিন্তু তোমাকে বাঁচিয়ে রাখবে।
Therefore it will come to passe, that when the Egyptians see thee, they will say, She is his wife: so will they kill me, but they will keepe thee aliue.
13 তুমি বোলো, তুমি আমার বোন, যেন তোমার খাতিরে আমি ভালো ব্যবহার পাই ও তোমার জন্য আমার প্রাণরক্ষা হয়।”
Say, I pray thee, that thou art my sister, that I may fare well for thy sake, and that my life may be preserued by thee.
14 অব্রাম যখন মিশরে এলেন, তখন মিশরীয়রা দেখল যে সারী পরম সুন্দরী।
Nowe when Abram was come into Egypt, the Egyptians behelde the woman: for she was very faire.
15 আর ফরৌণের কর্মকর্তারা সারীকে দেখে ফরৌণের কাছে তাঁর প্রশংসা করলেন, এবং সারীকে ফরৌণের রাজপ্রাসাদে নিয়ে যাওয়া হল।
And the Princes of Pharaoh sawe her, and commended her vnto Pharaoh: so the woman was taken into Pharaohs house:
16 সারীর খাতিরে তিনি অব্রামের সঙ্গে খুব ভালো ব্যবহার করলেন, এবং অব্রাম প্রচুর মেষ ও গবাদি পশু, গাধা ও গাধি, দাস-দাসী ও উট অর্জন করলেন।
Who intreated Abram well for her sake, and he had sheepe, and beeues, and hee asses, and men seruants and maide seruants, and shee asses, and camelles.
17 কিন্তু অব্রামের স্ত্রী সারীর কারণে সদাপ্রভু ফরৌণ ও তাঁর পরিবারের উপর সংকটজনক রোগব্যাধি চাপিয়ে দিলেন।
But the Lord plagued Pharaoh and his house with great plagues, because of Sarai Abrams wife.
18 তাই ফরৌণ অব্রামকে ডেকে পাঠালেন, “আপনি আমার প্রতি এ কী করলেন?” তিনি বললেন, “আপনি কেন আমায় বলেননি যে ইনি আপনার স্ত্রী?
Then Pharaoh called Abram, and saide, Why hast thou done this vnto me? Wherefore diddest thou not tell me, that she was thy wife?
19 আপনি কেন বললেন, ‘এ আমার বোন,’ তাইতো আমি তাঁকে আমার স্ত্রীরূপে গ্রহণ করেছি? তবে এখন, এই রইল আপনার স্ত্রী। তাঁকে নিন আর চলে যান!”
Why saidest thou, She is my sister, that I should take her to be my wife? Nowe therefore beholde thy wife, take her and goe thy way.
20 পরে ফরৌণ তাঁর লোকজনকে অব্রামের বিষয়ে আদেশ দিলেন, এবং তারা তাঁর স্ত্রী ও তাঁর অধিকারে থাকা সবকিছু সমেত তাঁকে বিদায় করে দিলেন।
And Pharaoh gaue men commandement concerning him: and they conueyed him forth, and his wife, and all that he had.
