1 হট্টগোল সমাপ্ত হলে পৌল শিষ্যদের ডেকে পাঠালেন। তাদের উৎসাহিত করে তিনি বিদায়সম্ভাষণ জানালেন ও ম্যাসিডোনিয়ার পথে যাত্রা শুরু করলেন।
After the tumult had ceased, Paul called the disciples to him, and bade them farewell, and departed, in order to go into Macedonia.
2 সেই অঞ্চল অতিক্রম করার সময় তিনি লোকদের উৎসাহ দেওয়ার অনেক কথাবার্তা বলে শেষে গ্রীসে উপস্থিত হলেন।
And when he had gone through those regions, and had exhorted them with many words, he came into Greece.
3 সেখানে তিনি তিন মাস থাকলেন। তিনি জলপথে সিরিয়া যাওয়ার আগে ইহুদিরা তাঁর বিরুদ্ধে এক ষড়যন্ত্র রচনা করায়, তিনি ম্যাসিডোনিয়ার মধ্য দিয়ে ফিরে যাওয়ার সিদ্ধান্ত নিলেন।
And having remained there three months, he determined to return through Macedonia, because a plot had been laid for him by the Jews, as he was about to sail to Syria.
4 তাঁর সহযাত্রী হলেন বিরয়া থেকে পুর্হের ছেলে সোপাত্র, থিষলনিকা নিবাসী আরিষ্টার্খ ও সিকুন্দ, ডার্বি নগর থেকে গায়ো, সেই সঙ্গে তিমথি, এশিয়া প্রদেশের তুখিক ও ত্রফিম।
And Sopater of Berea, and Aristarchus and Secundus of Thessalonica, and Gaius of Derbe, and Timothy and Tychicus and Trophimus, who were Asiatics, accompanied him to Asia.
5 এরা আমাদের আগেই যাত্রা করে ত্রোয়াতে আমাদের জন্য অপেক্ষা করলেন।
These went before, and waited for us at Troas.
6 কিন্তু খামিরশূন্য রুটির পর্বের পর আমরা ফিলিপী থেকে জলপথে যাত্রা করলাম এবং পাঁচদিন পরে অন্যান্যদের সঙ্গে ত্রোয়াতে মিলিত হলাম। সেখানে আমরা সাত দিন থাকলাম।
But we sailed from Philippi, after the days of unleavened bread, and came to them at Troas in five days, where we remained seven days.
7 সপ্তাহের প্রথম দিনে আমরা রুটি-ভাঙার জন্য একত্র হলাম। পৌল লোকদের সঙ্গে কথা বললেন। পরদিন তিনি সেই স্থান ত্যাগ করার মনস্থ করেছিলেন বলে মাঝরাত পর্যন্ত তাদের সঙ্গে কথা বললেন।
And on the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul discoursed to them, intending to depart on the morrow; and he continued his speech till midnight.
8 উপরতলার যে ঘরে আমরা সমবেত হয়েছিলাম, সেখানে অনেক প্রদীপ জ্বলছিল।
And there were many lamps in the upper room, in which they had met together.
9 উতুখ নামে একজন যুবক জানালায় বসেছিল। পৌল যখন ক্রমেই কথা বলে গেলেন, সে গভীর ঘুমে মগ্ন হয়ে পড়ল। সে যখন গভীর ঘুমে মগ্ন ছিল, সে তিনতলা থেকে নিচে, মাটিতে পড়ে গেল। লোকেরা তাকে তুলতে গিয়ে দেখল যে সে মারা গেছে।
And a certain young man, named Eutychus, was sitting in the window, overpowered with deep sleep: and, as Paul was discoursing a long time, being oppressed with sleep, he fell from the third story, and was taken up dead.
10 পৌল নিচে গেলেন, নিচু হয়ে তিনি তাঁর দু-হাত দিয়ে যুবকটিকে জড়িয়ে ধরলেন। তিনি বললেন, “তোমরা আতঙ্কিত হোয়ো না, এর মধ্যে প্রাণ আছে!”
But Paul went down, and fell upon him, and embracing him, said: Be not troubled, for his life is in him.
11 পরে তিনি আবার উপরতলায় গিয়ে রুটি ভেঙে ভোজন করলেন। তারপর সূর্য ওঠা পর্যন্ত কথা বলে তিনি বিদায় নিলেন।
And he went up again, and broke bread, and ate; and having conversed a long time, till daylight, he thus departed.
12 লোকেরা সেই যুবককে জীবিত অবস্থায় বাড়িতে নিয়ে গেল ও দুশ্চিন্তামুক্ত হল।
And they brought the young man alive, and were not a little comforted.
13 আমরা আগেই গিয়ে জাহাজে উঠলাম এবং আসোস অভিমুখে যাত্রা করলাম। কথা ছিল যা সেখানে আমরা পৌলকে জাহাজে তুলে নেব। তিনি এই ব্যবস্থা করেছিলেন কারণ তিনি সেখানে পায়ে হেঁটে যাচ্ছিলেন।
And we went on before to the ship, and put to sea for Assos, intending to take Paul on board at that place; for he had so directed, intending to go himself on foot.
14 তিনি যখন আসোসে আমাদের সঙ্গে মিলিত হলেন, আমরা তাঁকে জাহাজে তুলে নিলাম ও মিতুলিনীতে গেলাম।
And when he met us at Assos, we took him on board, and came to Mitylene;
15 পরের দিন আমরা সেখান থেকে জাহাজে যাত্রা করে খী-দ্বীপের তীরে পৌঁছালাম। তার পরদিন আমরা সমুদ্র অতিক্রম করে সামো দ্বীপে এবং পরের দিন মিলেতা পৌঁছালাম।
and sailing from that place, we came, on the following day, opposite to Chios; and, on the next day, we arrived at Samos: and after stopping at Trogyllium, we came, on the next day, to Miletus.
16 পৌল মনস্থির করেছিলেন জলপথে ইফিষ পাশ কাটিয়ে যাবেন, যেন এশিয়া প্রদেশে সময় নষ্ট না হয়। কারণ তিনি জেরুশালেমে ফিরে যাওয়ার জন্য তাড়াহুড়ো করছিলেন, যেন সম্ভব হলে পঞ্চাশত্তমীর দিনে জেরুশালেমে উপস্থিত থাকতে পারেন।
For Paul had determined to sail past Ephesus, that he might not spend time in Asia; for he hastened, that, if it were possible for him, he might be in Jerusalem on the day of Pentecost.
17 পৌল মিলেতা থেকে ইফিষে লোক পাঠিয়ে মণ্ডলীর প্রাচীনদের ডেকে পাঠালেন।
From Miletus he sent to Ephesus, and called the elders of the church.
18 তাঁরা এসে পৌঁছালে তিনি তাঁদের বললেন, “তোমরা জানো, এশিয়া প্রদেশে আমি উপস্থিত হওয়ার পর প্রথম দিন থেকেই তোমাদের মধ্যে থাকাকালীন আমি কীভাবে জীবনযাপন করেছি।
And when they had come to him, he said to them: You know, from the first day on which I came into Asia, how I have been with you during the whole time,
19 আমি অত্যন্ত নম্রতার সঙ্গে ও চোখের জলে প্রভুর সেবা করে গেছি, যদিও ইহুদিদের ষড়যন্ত্রের কারণে আমি অনেক পরীক্ষার সম্মুখীন হয়েছিলাম।
serving the Lord with all lowliness of mind, and with tears, and with trials, which came upon me through the plots of the Jews;
20 তোমরা জানো যে আমি তোমাদের পক্ষে কল্যাণকর কোনো কিছুই প্রচার করতে ইতস্তত করিনি, বরং প্রকাশ্যে এবং বাড়ি বাড়ি গিয়ে শিক্ষা দিয়েছি।
and that I have kept back nothing that was profitable, but have preached to you, and taught you both publicly, and from house to house,
21 ইহুদি ও গ্রিক, উভয়েরই কাছে আমি ঘোষণা করেছি যে, মন পরিবর্তনের মাধ্যমে তাদের অবশ্যই ঈশ্বরের কাছে ফিরে আসতে হবে এবং আমাদের প্রভু যীশুর উপরে বিশ্বাস স্থাপন করতে হবে।
bearing full testimony both to Jews and to Greeks, of the repentance that leads to God, and of the faith that leads to our Lord Jesus Christ.
22 “আর এখন পবিত্র আত্মার দ্বারা বাধ্য হয়ে আমি জেরুশালেমে যাচ্ছি, জানি না, সেখানে আমার প্রতি কী ঘটবে।
And now, behold, I am going, bound in spirit, to Jerusalem, not knowing what shall befall me there,
23 আমি শুধু জানি যে, পবিত্র আত্মা আমাকে সচেতন করছেন, প্রতিটি নগরে আমাকে বন্দিদশা ও কষ্টের সম্মুখীন হতে হবে।
except that in every city the Holy Spirit testifies to me, saying, That bonds and afflictions await me.
24 কিন্তু, আমি আমার প্রাণকেও নিজের কাছে মূল্যবান বিবেচনা করি না, শুধু চাই যে আমি যেন সেই দৌড় শেষ করতে পারি এবং প্রভু যীশু যে কর্মভার আমাকে দিয়েছেন, তা সম্পূর্ণ করতে পারি—সেই কাজটি হল, ঈশ্বরের অনুগ্রহের সুসমাচার সম্পর্কে সাক্ষ্য দেওয়া।
But I esteem this a matter of no importance, nor do I hold my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my course with joy, and the ministry that I have received from the Lord Jesus, to bear full testimony to the gospel of the grace of God.
25 “এখন আমি জানি, আমি যাদের মধ্যে সেই রাজ্যের কথা প্রচার করেছি, সেই তোমরা কেউই আর আমাকে দেখতে পাবে না।
And now, behold, I know that you all, among whom I have gone preaching the kingdom of God, will see my face no more.
26 সেই কারণে, আমি তোমাদের কাছে আজ ঘোষণা করছি যে, সব মানুষের রক্তের দায় থেকে আমি নির্দোষ।
For this reason I solemnly affirm to you this day, that I am clean from the blood of all men.
27 কারণ তোমাদের কাছে ঈশ্বর যা চান, আমি সেইসব ইচ্ছা ঘোষণা করতে দ্বিধাবোধ করিনি।
For I have not shunned to declare to you the whole counsel of God.
28 তোমরা নিজেদের বিষয়ে সাবধান থাকো ও পবিত্র আত্মা যে মেষদের উপরে তোমাদের তত্ত্বাবধায়করূপে নিযুক্ত করেছেন, তাদের প্রতি সতর্ক দৃষ্টি রাখো। ঈশ্বরের যে মণ্ডলীকে তিনি তাঁর রক্তের দ্বারা কিনেছেন, তার প্রতিপালন করো।
Therefore, take heed to yourselves, and to all the flock over which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, that you be shepherds to the church of God, which he has purchased with his own blood.
29 আমি জানি, আমার চলে যাওয়ার পর, তোমাদের মধ্যে হিংস্র নেকড়েদের আবির্ভাব হবে, তারা মেষপালকে নিষ্কৃতি দেবে না।
For I know this, that, after my departure, rapacious wolves will enter in among you, who will not spare the flock;
30 এমনকি, তোমাদের নিজেদের মধ্য থেকেই তাদের উত্থান হবে। তারা সত্যকে বিকৃত করবে, যেন তাদের অনুগামী হওয়ার জন্য শিষ্যদের টেনে নিয়ে যেতে পারে।
and men will arise from among yourselves, speaking perverse things, that they may draw off disciples after them.
31 তাই তোমরা সতর্ক থাকো! মনে রেখো যে, সেই তিন বছর আমি তোমাদের প্রত্যেকজনকে দিনরাত চোখের জলে সাবধান করে এসেছি, কখনও ক্ষান্ত হইনি।
Therefore watch, remembering that for three years, by day and by night, I ceased not to warn every one of you with tears.
32 “এখন আমি ঈশ্বর ও তাঁর অনুগ্রহের বাক্যের কাছে তোমাদের সমর্পণ করছি, যা তোমাদের গঠন করতে ও যারা পবিত্র তাঁদের মধ্যে অধিকার দান করতে সমর্থ।
And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace; to Him who is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all the sanctified.
33 আমি কোনো মানুষের রুপো, সোনা বা পোশাকের প্রতি লোভ করিনি।
I have coveted no man’s silver, or gold, or apparel.
34 তোমরা নিজেরা জানো যে, আমার এই দু-হাত আমার ও আমার সঙ্গীদের সব প্রয়োজন মিটিয়েছে।
You yourselves know that these hands have ministered to my necessities, and to those who were with me.
35 আমার সমস্ত কাজের মাধ্যমে আমি তোমাদের দেখিয়েছি যে, এই ধরনের কঠোর পরিশ্রমের মাধ্যমে আমাদের অবশ্যই দুর্বলদের সাহায্য করতে হবে। স্বয়ং প্রভু যীশুর বলা বাক্য আমাদের মনে রাখতে হবে, ‘গ্রহণ করার চেয়ে দান করাতেই বেশি আশীর্বাদ।’”
In all things I have taught you by example, that by thus laboring, you ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus; for he himself said, It is more blessed to give, than to receive.
36 একথা বলার পর তিনি তাদের সবার সঙ্গে হাঁটু গেড়ে প্রার্থনা করলেন।
And when he had thus spoken, he kneeled down and prayed with them all.
37 তাঁরা সবাই তাঁকে জড়িয়ে ধরল ও চুমু খেয়ে কাঁদতে লাগল।
And they all wept much, and fell on Paul’s neck, and kissed him,
38 তাঁরা আর কখনও তাঁর মুখ দেখতে পারবেন না—পৌলের এই কথায় তাঁরা সবচেয়ে দুঃখ পেলেন। এরপর তাঁরা সবাই জাহাজ পর্যন্ত তাঁর সঙ্গে গেলেন।
grieving most of all for the word he had spoken, that they would see his face no more. And they conducted him to the ship.
