إرْمِيا 32

١ 1 هَذِهِ هِيَ النُّبُوءَةُ الَّتِي أَوْحَى بِها الرَّبُّ إِلَى إِرْمِيَا فِي السَّنَةِ الْعَاشِرَةِ مِنْ حُكْمِ صِدْقِيَّا مَلِكِ يَهُوذَا، الْمُوَافِقَةِ للِسَّنَةِ الثَّامِنَةِ عَشْرَةَ لِمُلْكِ نَبُوخَذْنَصَّرَ.

The word that came to Jeremiah from Yhwh in the tenth year of Zedekiah king of Judah, which was the eighteenth year of Nebuchadnezzar.

٢ 2 وَكَانَ جَيْشُ مَلِكِ بَابِلَ آنَئِذٍ يُحَاصِرُ أُورُشَلِيمَ، وَإِرْمِيَا النَّبِيُّ مُعْتَقَلاً فِي دَارِ السِّجْنِ فِي قَصْرِ مَلِكِ يَهُوذَا،

For then the king of Babylon’s army besieged Jerusalem: and Jeremiah the prophet was shut up in the court of the prison, which was in the king of Judah’s house.

٣ 3 لأَنَّ صِدْقِيَّا الْمَلِكَ اعْتَقَلَهُ قَائِلاً: «لِمَاذَا تَتَنَبَّأُ مُنَادِياً أَنَّ هَذَا مَا يُعْلِنُهُ الرَّبُّ:’هَا أَنَا أُسْلِمُ هَذِهِ الْمَدِينَةَ إِلَى يَدِ مَلِكِ بَابِلَ فَيَسْتَوْلِي عَلَيْهَا؟

For Zedekiah king of Judah had shut him up, saying, Wherefore dost thou prophesy, and say, Thus saith Yhwh, Behold, I will give this city into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall take it;

٤ 4 وَكَذَلِكَ لَنْ يُفْلِتَ صِدْقِيَّا مَلِكُ يَهُوذَا مِنْ يَدِ الْكَلْدَانِيِّينَ، بَلْ يُقْبَضَ عَلَيْهِ وَيَمْثُلَ أَمَامَ مَلِكِ بَابِلَ فَيُخَاطِبَهُ وَجْهاً لِوَجْهٍ وَعَيْنَاهُ تَنْظُرَانِ عَيْنَيْهِ

And Zedekiah king of Judah shall not escape out of the hand of the Chaldeans, but shall surely be delivered into the hand of the king of Babylon, and shall speak with him mouth to mouth, and his eyes shall behold his eyes;

٥ 5 وَيُسْبَى صِدْقِيَّا إِلَى بَابِلَ وَيَمْكُثَ هُنَاكَ إِلَى أَنْ يَمُوتَ، يَقُولُ الرَّبُّ. وَإِنْ حَارَبْتُمُ الْكَلْدَانِيِّينَ فَإِنَّكُمْ لَا تَنْجَحُونَ‘».

And he shall lead Zedekiah to Babylon, and there shall he be until I visit him, saith Yhwh: though ye fight with the Chaldeans, ye shall not prosper.

٦ 6 فَأَجَابَ إِرْمِيَا: «قَدْ أَعْلَنَ لِيَ الرَّبُّ قَضَاءَهُ قَائِلاً:

And Jeremiah said, The word of Yhwh came unto me, saying,

٧ 7 هَا حَنَمْئِيلُ ابْنُ عَمِّكَ شَلُّومَ قَادِمٌ إِلَيْكَ قَائِلاً:’اشْتَرِ حَقْلِي الَّذِي فِي عَنَاثُوثَ لأَنَّ لَكَ حَقَّ الْفِكَاكِ عَنْ طَرِيقِ الشِّرَاءِ.‘

Behold, Hanameel the son of Shallum thine uncle shall come unto thee, saying, Buy thee my field that is in Anathoth: for the right of redemption is thine to buy it.

٨ 8 وَمَا لَبِثَ أَنْ جَاءَ حَنَمْئِيلُ ابْنُ عَمِّي إِلَيَّ فِي دَارِ السِّجْنِ بِمُقْتَضَى كَلِمَةِ الرَّبِّ وَقَالَ لِي:’اشْتَرِ حَقْلِي الَّذِي فِي عَنَاثُوثَ فِي أَرْضِ بِنْيَامِينَ، لأَنَّ لَكَ حَقَّ الإِرْثِ وَالْفِكَاكِ.‘حِينَئِذٍ أَدْرَكْتُ أَنَّ تِلْكَ كَانَتْ كَلِمَةَ اللهِ.

So Hanameel mine uncle’s son came to me in the court of the prison according to the word of Yhwh, and said unto me, Buy my field, I pray thee, that is in Anathoth, which is in the country of Benjamin: for the right of inheritance is thine, and the redemption is thine; buy it for thyself. Then I knew that this was the word of Yhwh.

٩ 9 فَاشْتَرَيْتُ الْحَقْلَ الَّذِي فِي عَنَاثُوثَ مِنْ حَنَمْئِيلَ ابْنِ عَمِّي، وَوَزَنْتُ لَهُ سَبْعَةَ عَشَرَ شَاقِلاً (حَوَالَيْ مِئَتَيْ جرَامٍ) مِنَ الْفِضَّةِ.

And I bought the field of Hanameel my uncle’s son, that was in Anathoth, and weighed him the money, even seventeen shekels of silver.

١٠ 10 ثُمَّ سَجَّلْتُ عَقْدَ الْبَيْعِ فِي صَكٍّ وَخَتَمْتُهُ، وَأَشْهَدْتُ شُهُوداً، وَوَزَنْتُ الْفِضَّةَ بِمِيزَانٍ.

And I subscribed the evidence, and sealed it, and took witnesses, and weighed him the money in the balances.

١١ 11 وَأَخَذْتُ صَكَّ الْبَيْعِ الْمَخْتُومَ الْمُتَضَمِّنَ بُنُودَ الْعَقْدِ مَعَ نُسْخَةٍ غَيْرِ مَخْتُومَةٍ،

So I took the evidence of the purchase, both that which was sealed according to the law and custom, and that which was open:

١٢ 12 وَأَوْدَعْتُ صَكَّ الْبَيْعِ عِنْدَ بَارُوخَ بْنِ نِيرِيَّا بْنِ مَحْسِيَا بِمَحْضَرِ حَنَمْئِيلَ ابْنِ عَمِّي وَالشُّهُودِ الَّذِينَ وَقَّعُوا عَلَى صَكِّ الْبَيْعِ، وَأَمَامَ جَمِيعِ الْيَهُودِ الْجَالِسِينَ فِي دَارِ السِّجْنِ.

And I gave the evidence of the purchase unto Baruch the son of Neriah, the son of Maaseiah, in the sight of Hanameel mine uncle’s son, and in the presence of the witnesses that subscribed the book of the purchase, before all the Jews that sat in the court of the prison.

١٣ 13 وَأَوْصَيْتُ بَارُوخَ أَمَامَهُمْ قَائِلاً:

And I charged Baruch before them, saying,

١٤ 14 ’هَذَا مَا يُعْلِنُهُ الرَّبُّ الْقَدِيرُ إِلَهُ إِسْرَائِيلَ: خُذْ هَذَيْنِ الصَّكَّيْنِ: صَكَّ الْبَيْعِ الْمَخْتُومَ، وَالصَّكَّ غَيْرَ الْمَخْتُومِ، وَاحْفَظْهُمَا فِي إِنَاءٍ خَزَفِيٍّ لِمُدَّةٍ طَوِيلَةٍ،

Thus saith Yhwh of Armies, the God of Israel; Take these evidences, this evidence of the purchase, both which is sealed, and this evidence which is open; and put them in an earthen vessel, that they may continue many days.

١٥ 15 لأَنَّ الرَّبَّ الْقَدِيرَ إِلَهَ إِسْرَائِيلَ يَقُولُ: إِنَّ بُيُوتاً وَحُقُولاً وَكُرُوماً سَتُشْتَرَى بَعْدُ فِي هَذِهِ الأَرْضِ‘».

For thus saith Yhwh of Armies, the God of Israel; Houses and fields and vineyards shall be possessed again in this land.

١٦ 16 وَبَعْدَ أَنْ أَوْدَعْتُ الصَّكَّ بَارُوخَ بْنَ نِيرِيَّا صَلَّيْتُ إِلَى الرَّبِّ قَائِلاً:

Now when I had delivered the evidence of the purchase unto Baruch the son of Neriah, I prayed unto Yhwh, saying,

١٧ 17 «آهِ أَيُّهَا السَّيِّدُ الرَّبُّ، إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ الَّذِي صَنَعْتَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأَرْضَ بِقُوَّتِكَ الْعَظِيمَةِ وَذِرَاعِكَ الْمَمْدُودَةِ وَلا يَتَعَذَّرُ عَلَيْكَ أَمْرٌ.

Ah Lord Yhwh! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee:

١٨ 18 أَنْتَ الَّذِي تُبْدِي إِحْسَانَكَ لأُلُوفٍ، وَتُعَاقِبُ ذَنْبَ الآبَاءِ فِي الأَبْنَاءِ مِنْ بَعْدِهِمْ. أَنْتَ هُوَ الإِلَهُ الْعَظِيمُ الْقَدِيرُ اسْمُهُ.

Thou shewest lovingkindness unto thousands, and recompensest the iniquity of the fathers into the bosom of their children after them: the Great, the Mighty God, Yhwh of Armies, is his name,

١٩ 19 عَظِيمٌ فِي الْمَشُورَةِ وَقَادِرٌ فِي الْعَمَلِ، وَعَيْنَاكَ مَفْتُوحَتَانِ تُرَاقِبَانِ جَمِيعَ طُرُقِ الإِنْسَانِ لِتُجَازِيَ كُلَّ وَاحِدٍ حَسَبَ تَصَرُّفَاتِهِ وَثِمَارِ أَعْمَالِهِ.

Great in counsel, and mighty in work: for thine eyes are open upon all the ways of the sons of men: to give every one according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings:

٢٠ 20 وَقَدْ أَجْرَيْتَ آيَاتٍ وَمُعْجِزَاتٍ فِي دِيَارِ مِصْرَ، وَمَازِلْتَ تُجْرِيهَا إِلَى هَذَا الْيَوْمِ فِي شَعْبِ إِسْرَائِيلَ وَبَيْنَ سَائِرِ الْبَشَرِ، وَجَعَلْتَ اسْمَكَ يُطْبِقُ الآفَاقَ كَمَا هُوَ جَارٍ فِي هَذَا الْيَوْمِ،

Which hast set signs and wonders in the land of Egypt, even unto this day, and in Israel, and among other men; and hast made thee a name, as at this day;

٢١ 21 وَأَخْرَجْتَ شَعْبَكَ إِسْرَائِيلَ مِنْ دِيَارِ مِصْرَ بِآيَاتٍ وَمُعْجِزَاتٍ، وَبِيَدٍ قَدِيرَةٍ وَذِرَاعٍ مَمْدُودَةٍ، وَمَا أَلْقَيْتَهُ مِنْ خَوْفٍ شَدِيدٍ فِي قُلُوبِ أَهْلِهَا،

And hast brought forth thy people Israel out of the land of Egypt with signs, and with wonders, and with a strong hand, and with a stretched out arm, and with great terror;

٢٢ 22 وَوَهَبْتَ الشَّعْبَ هَذِهِ الأَرْضَ الَّتِي أَقْسَمْتَ لِآبَائِهِمْ أَنْ تَهَبَهَا لَهُمْ، أَرْضاً تَفِيضُ لَبَناً وَعَسَلاً،

And hast given them this land, which thou didst swear to their fathers to give them, a land flowing with milk and honey;

٢٣ 23 فَدَخَلُوا وَوَرِثُوهَا. وَلَكِنَّهُمْ لَمْ يُطِيعُوا صَوْتَكَ وَلَمْ يَسْلُكُوا وَفْقَ شَرِيعَتِكَ وَلَمْ يَفْعَلُوا مَا أَمَرْتَهُمْ بِهِ، لِذَلِكَ أَوْقَعْتَ بِهِمْ هَذَا الشَّرَّ كُلَّهُ.

And they came in, and possessed it; but they obeyed not thy voice, neither walked in thy law; they have done nothing of all that thou commandedst them to do: therefore thou hast caused all this evil to come upon them:

٢٤ 24 انْظُرْ، هَا الْمَتَارِيسُ قَدْ أُقِيمَتْ حَوْلَ الْمَدِينَةِ لِلاسْتِيلاءِ عَلَيْهَا، وَمِنْ جَرَّاءِ السَّيْفِ وَالْجُوعِ وَالْوَبَاءِ أَصْبَحَتِ الْمَدِينَةُ فِي يَدِ الَّذِينَ يُحَارِبُونَهَا مِنَ الْكَلْدَانِيِّينَ. فَكُلُّ مَا نَطَقْتَ بِهِ قَدْ تَمَّ، وَهَا أَنْتَ عَلَى ذَلِكَ شَاهِدٌ.

Behold the mounts, they are come unto the city to take it; and the city is given into the hand of the Chaldeans, that fight against it, because of the sword, and of the famine, and of the pestilence: and what thou hast spoken is come to pass; and, behold, thou seest it.

٢٥ 25 وَقَدْ قُلْتَ لِي أَيُّهَا السَّيِّدُ الرَّبُّ: اشْتَرِ الْحَقْلَ بِفِضَّةٍ، وَأَشْهِدْ شُهُوداً مَعَ أَنَّ الْمَدِينَةَ قَدْ سَقَطَتْ فِي يَدِ الْكَلْدَانِيِّينَ».

And thou hast said unto me, O Lord Yhwh, Buy thee the field for money, and take witnesses; for the city is given into the hand of the Chaldeans.

٢٦ 26 ثُمَّ كَلَّمَ الرَّبُّ إِرْمِيَا:

Then came the word of Yhwh unto Jeremiah, saying,

٢٧ 27 «انْظُرْ، أَنَا الرَّبُّ إِلَهُ كُلِّ بَشَرٍ. هَلْ يَتَعَذَّرُ عَلَيَّ أَمْرٌ؟

Behold, I am Yhwh, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me?

٢٨ 28 لِذَلِكَ هَا أَنَا أُسْلِمُ هَذِهِ الْمَدِينَةَ إِلَى يَدِ الْكَلْدَانِيِّينَ وَإِلَى يَدِ نَبُوخَذْنَصَّرَ مَلِكِ بَابِلَ، فَيَسْتَوْلِي عَلَيْهَا.

Therefore thus saith Yhwh; Behold, I will give this city into the hand of the Chaldeans, and into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and he shall take it:

٢٩ 29 وَيَقْتَحِمُهَا الْكَلْدَانِيُّونَ الَّذِينَ يُحَارِبُونَ هَذِهِ الْمَدِينَةَ، وَيُضْرِمُونَ فِيهَا النَّارَ وَيُحْرِقُونَهَا هِيَ وَبُيُوتَهَا الَّتِي أَصْعَدُوا عَلَى سُطُوحِهَا بَخُوراً وَسَكَائِبَ خَمْرٍ لِلْبَعْلِ وَلِآلِهَةِ الأَوْثَانِ، لِيُثِيرُوا سُخْطِي.

And the Chaldeans, that fight against this city, shall come and set fire on this city, and burn it with the houses, upon whose roofs they have offered incense unto Baal, and poured out drink offerings unto other gods, to provoke me to anger.

٣٠ 30 إِنَّ أَبْنَاءَ إِسْرَائِيلَ وَأَبْنَاءَ يَهُوذَا جَدُّوا فِي ارْتِكَابِ الشَّرِّ أَمَامِي مُنْذُ حَدَاثَتِهِمْ، فَأَثَارُوا سُخْطِي بِمَا جَنَتْهُ أَيْدِيهِمْ.

For the children of Israel and the children of Judah have only done evil before me from their youth: for the children of Israel have only provoked me to anger with the work of their hands, saith Yhwh.

٣١ 31 قَدْ أَجَّجَتْ هَذِهِ الْمَدِينَةُ، مُنْذُ بِنَائِهَا إِلَى هَذَا الْيَوْمِ، غَضَبِي وَغَيْظِي، وَدَفَعَتْنِي حَتَّى أَمْحُوَهَا مِنْ أَمَامِ وَجْهِي،

For this city hath been to me as a provocation of mine anger and of my fury from the day that they built it even unto this day; that I should remove it from before my face,

٣٢ 32 لِفَرْطِ شَرِّ أَبْنَاءِ إِسْرَائِيلَ وَأَبْنَاءِ يَهُوذَا الَّذِي ارْتَكَبُوهُ، فَأَثَارُوا سُخْطِي هُمْ وَمُلُوكُهُمْ وَرُؤَسَاؤُهُمْ وَكَهَنَتُهُمْ وَأَنْبِيَاؤُهُمُ الْكَذَبَةُ وَرِجَالُ يَهُوذَا وَأَهْلُ أُورُشَلِيمَ.

Because of all the evil of the children of Israel and of the children of Judah, which they have done to provoke me to anger, they, their kings, their princes, their priests, and their prophets, and the men of Judah, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

٣٣ 33 وَأَوْلُونِي ظُهُورَهُمْ وَلَيْسَ وُجُوهَهُمْ. وَمَعَ أَنِّي عَلَّمْتُهُمْ مُنْذُ الْبَدْءِ مَرَّةً تِلْوَ الأُخْرَى، إِلا أَنَّهُمْ لَمْ يَسْمَعُوا لِيَقْبَلُوا تَأْدِيبِي.

And they have turned unto me the back, and not the face: though I taught them, rising up early and teaching them, yet they have not hearkened to receive instruction.

٣٤ 34 وَنَصَبُوا أَوْثَانَهُمُ الرِّجْسَةَ فِي الْهَيْكَلِ الَّذِي دُعِيَ اسْمِي عَلَيْهِ لِيُنَجِّسُوهُ.

But they set their abominations in the house, which is called by my name, to defile it.

٣٥ 35 وَبَنَوْا الْمُرْتَفَعَاتِ لِلْبَعْلِ فِي وَادِي ابْنِ هِنُّومَ لِيُجِيزُوا فِي النَّارِ أَبْنَاءَهُمْ وَبَنَاتِهِمْ لِمُولَكَ، وَهُوَ مَا لَمْ آمُرْهُمْ بِهِ، وَلَمْ يَخْطُرْ لِي بِبَالٍ أَنْ يَرْتَكِبُوا هَذَا الرِّجْسَ وَيَجْعَلُوا شَعْبَ يَهُوذَا يَقْتَرِفُ الإِثْمَ.

And they built the high places of Baal, which are in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to cause their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire unto Molech; which I commanded them not, neither came it into my mind, that they should do this abomination, to cause Judah to sin.

٣٦ 36 لِذَلِكَ هَذَا مَا يُعْلِنُهُ الرَّبُّ إِلَهُ إِسْرَائِيلَ الآنَ عَنْ هَذِهِ الْمَدِينَةِ الَّتِي تَقُولُونَ عَنْهَا إِنَّهَا سُلِّمَتْ إِلَى يَدِ مَلِكِ بَابِلَ بِالسَّيْفِ وَالْجُوعِ وَالْوَبَاءِ.

And now therefore thus saith Yhwh, the God of Israel, concerning this city, whereof ye say, It shall be delivered into the hand of the king of Babylon by the sword, and by the famine, and by the pestilence;

٣٧ 37 هَا أَنَا أَعُودُ فَأَجْمَعُهُمْ مِنْ جَمِيعِ الْبُلْدَانِ الَّتِي شَتَّتُّهُمْ إِلَيْهَا فِي غَضَبِي وَغَيْظِي وَسُخْطِي الشَّدِيدِ، وَأَرُدُّهُمْ إِلَى هَذَا الْمَوْضِعِ وَأُسَكِّنُهُمْ آمِنِينَ،

Behold, I will gather them out of all countries, whither I have driven them in mine anger, and in my fury, and in great wrath; and I will bring them again unto this place, and I will cause them to dwell safely:

٣٨ 38 فَيَكُونُونَ لِي شَعْباً وَأَكُونُ لَهُمْ إِلَهاً.

And they shall be my people, and I will be their God:

٣٩ 39 وَأُعْطِيهِمْ قَلْباً وَاحِداً وَطَرِيقاً وَاحِداً لِيَتَّقُونِي كُلَّ الأَيَّامِ، وَذَلِكَ لِخَيْرِهِمْ وَخَيْرِ أَوْلادِهِمْ مِنْ بَعْدِهِمْ.

And I will give them one heart, and one way, that they may fear me for ever, for the good of them, and of their children after them:

٤٠ 40 وَأُبْرِمُ مَعَهُمْ عَهْداً أَبَدِيًّا أَنْ لَا أَكُفَّ عَنِ الإِحْسَانِ إِلَيْهِمْ، وَأَضَعُ تَقْوَايَ فِي قُلُوبِهِمْ لِئَلَّا يَرْتَدُّوا عَنِّي،

And I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from them, to do them good; but I will put my fear in their hearts, that they shall not depart from me.

٤١ 41 وَأُسَرُّ بِالإِحْسَانِ إِلَيْهِمْ، وَأَغْرِسُهُمْ فِي هَذِهِ الأَرْضِ بِالْحَقِّ مِنْ كُلِّ قَلْبِي وَنَفْسِي.

Yea, I will rejoice over them to do them good, and I will plant them in this land assuredly with my whole heart and with my whole soul.

٤٢ 42 وَكَمَا أَوْقَعْتُ بِهَذَا الشَّعْبِ كُلَّ هَذَا الشَّرِّ الْعَظِيمِ، كَذَلِكَ أُمَتِّعُهُمْ بِجَمِيعِ الْخَيْرَاتِ الَّتِي وَعَدْتُهُمْ بِها.

For thus saith Yhwh; Like as I have brought all this great evil upon this people, so will I bring upon them all the good that I have promised them.

٤٣ 43 فَتُشْتَرَى الْحُقُولُ فِي هَذِهِ الأَرْضِ الَّتِي تَدَّعُونَ أَنَّهَا خَرِبَةٌ هَجَرَهَا الإِنْسَانُ وَالْحَيَوَانُ، وَقَدِ اسْتَوْلَى عَلَيْهَا الْكَلْدَانِيُّونَ.

And fields shall be bought in this land, whereof ye say, It is desolate without man or beast; it is given into the hand of the Chaldeans.

٤٤ 44 فَتُشْتَرَى الْحُقُولُ بِفِضَّةٍ، وَتُسَجَّلُ بُنُودُ الْعُقُودِ فِي الصُّكُوكِ وَتُخْتَمُ، وَيُوَقِّعُ الشُّهُودُ فِي أَرْضِ بِنْيَامِينَ وَالْقُرَى الْمُجَاوِرَةِ لأُورُشَلِيمَ، وَفِي مُدُنِ يَهُوذَا وَفِي الْمَنَاطِقِ الْجَبَلِيَّةِ وَفِي مُدُنِ السَّهْلِ، وَمُدُنِ الْجَنُوبِ لأَنِّي أَرُدُّ سَبْيَهُمْ، يَقُولُ الرَّبُّ».

Men shall buy fields for money, and subscribe evidences, and seal them, and take witnesses in the land of Benjamin, and in the places about Jerusalem, and in the cities of Judah, and in the cities of the mountains, and in the cities of the valley, and in the cities of the south: for I will cause their captivity to return, saith Yhwh.
